"A colony of stenogastrine wasps has no queen, no soldiers, no hierarchy of blood. Each hoverwasp is free to leave if it chooses, and who gets to lay the eggs is decided by age order. They forage for food and pick roles based on need... Basically the perfect society. And they're wasps, so they can fight like a motherfucker."

"Tim Winton's 'The Turning' is a book of sixteenish short stories, all of them documenting moments of change in people's lives. It's... If you look at it as a story, it's bland, slow, kind of empty. The characters are nothing special. It's more of an experience- A taste of time and place, if you get what I'm saying. It makes you feel things you can't quite describe."
