Quick reference:
Priests: Characters who protect the world from nasty bad creatures called Blisters. Priests are of any religion, race, or soul alignment. They have unique powers.
Soul weapons: Weapons made from priest souls. These reflect their owner.
Blisters: People who died a violent death and still have business in this dimension. They live in Blister Areas and the longer they stay there the uglier and more twisted it gets. Blisters look a little like zombies, but tend to be a little faster and more aggressive.
Ghosts: Peaceful people who have died a peaceful death but still have business on earth. Only priests can see them.
Angelists: Cultists who want to stop death completely. They summon Blisters.
Four Horsemen: Four immortal beings that keep the world in balance and draw energy from souls who cross over. Tend to keep to themselves.
Bi-Dimensional: Two dimensions. One houses living people, the other dead people. People don't cross over to that normally, and those who do tend to never come back.
Angels: People who have died with an extremely light grey soul. Some think they've crossed over and come back, but they don't talk to 'mortals'.

Soul Types/Alignments:
Black: Pure black souls don't exist in humans outside of a few exceptions. These typically belong to people who were murderers and died a violent death. They become demons, which after a short amount of time in a Blister Area, manifest in the real world and possess people. They tend to be silver tongued and violently resistant to crossing over.
Grey: Average soul. Neither good nor bad. All humans have a range of grey souls.
White Souls: Typically belonging to Angels, or people who have died that have kind souls. Mother Theresa would be an Angel, for example. There aren't many of these.
Hollow Souls: These souls are empty until acted upon by a White or Black soul. This usually means touching one or being near one depending on the strength of the soul. They are compelled to do whatever the soul they have tells them to do until they absorb it completely. Then they continue to be influenced by that soul alignment, often time presenting traits from that soul. Until they have a black or white soul, this presents as depression, or an absence of feelings, empathy, or just emptiness in general. These souls are rare, formed by typically a lonely childhood or a 'birth defect' that leaves the child listless and in a vegetable state until their soul is filled. Typically it is the former.
Dual Souls: Two souls one body. They separate in the castle because of magic runes designed so that the souls can be trained separately without distractions.
Twin Souls: Two souls which are permanently linked together. Two minds and two bodies, but they tend to be a bit too similar and one dominates the other.
Special Souls: Feel free to create your own. I've listed some already, but be creative!

Character Sheet:
User:
Name:
Gender:
Age:
Weapon: (Long as it can be used as a weapon, then it can go here. Giant ninjas stars? Sure. Unarmed? Just put some special gloves. Pictures can be linked, or you can describe it in four sentences.)
Appearance: (Link an image with a brief description, or just go for a description. Please note sometimes I won't be able to see these images until later in the day. If these are broken, you're responsible for replacing it.)
Abilities: (You're limited to two. They can be almost anything, but they won't hurt anything but evil things. You can't use these on humans. These can grow in strength when in a Blister Area. But no, they can't just destroy a Blister with a thought. Nice try, Mary.)
Soul Alignment: (There is a spectrum, ranging from light grey to dark grey. Unless you're a Hollow or a special soul, you get a range of grey.)
Personality: (Eight. Sentences.)
History: (Just end up at the Castle somehow. Eight sentences please.)
Weaknesses: (Fears, lack of experience, or anything that could be a chink in your armor. I want three put here please.)

Name: Claude du Lac
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Weapon: Lighters. Lots of 'em. Does not possess a soul weapon.
Appearance: Claude is a young man with cyan eyes and messy, mid-neck length black hair parted at the center. He's tall, slim, and light - built for agility rather than raw strength. He prefers to dress in a fashion that can only be called 'plain'. No brand logos, lettering, graphics; nothing but unremarkable all around.
Abilities: Reactant Air - Warp Spasm

Soul Alignment: Light Grey, Cursed

Personality: Claude is determined, driven, and a huge freaking nerd. He doesn't go out of his way to instigate a conversation with someone outside of a field scenario or something like overhearing someone talking about him. He couldn't really be called antisocial at any rate; he's just not easy to talk to or get to know, at any rate. He has a passion for chemistry rooted in his ability and may or may not be a low-level pyromaniac, but a combination of his intense drive to succeed and his reserved front exudes a kind of 'foreign coolness' as it were. Although, he's actually naturally predisposed to be lighthearted, upbeat and playful, a side which occasionally shows through his shell and conflicts with his life experiences. Claude's upbringing at the hands of his overzealous family has established a desire for his achievements to be sufficiently recognized, to prove himself and his family to his peers, which often causes him to become dissatisfied with himself for not doing better when they aren't. As such, his level of determination could be described as 'reckless and idealistic'. Though he's not stupid in his recklessness; he has instincts refined from personal experience and usually has a good idea of what he's getting himself into, as well. Given his personality, he's naturally inclined to be the type who can thrive under pressure and seek out danger without care.
History: House du Lac. Once great and noble, now brought to the brink of ruin by a 500 year old curse. Wealthy as they may be, the curse has dealt a crippling blow to their pride as priests. As the first and only child of this generation born with the necessary spiritual potential to become a priest, Claude was tasked with the mission of restoring the family to its former glory, just like every other heir before him. And just like every other heir before him, he was trained under harsh circumstances in order to turn an unimpressive, lackluster child into a priest strong and worthy enough to represent the name 'du Lac'.

As a child, Claude was raised under the creed of 'for the sake of the family'. Everything he was subjected to, every harsh trial, every hour of painstaking training and studying, everything was justified using that phrase. Though his family as a whole wasn't unnecessarily cruel, his grandfather, the family's patriarch, was almost always disappointed with Claude's results, always pushing the driven young child beyond his limits, finally culminating in an event Claude would most definitely prefer to avoid talking about. Normally for a child's 10th birthday, people would give gifts. The gift he got from his grandfather? A camping trip in the wilderness near the estate. Alone. In the middle of winter. With minimal supplies. Armed with the bare minimum he was allotted, Claude managed for a few days, pushing himself to his very limits. For the sake of the family as always. And then he started to get a little bit crazy. Eventually the feral animal attacks, the monsters that he occasionally found, the cold weather, and the lack of food and drink, among other things, got to become too much.

They found him in the epicenter of a forest fire. Which was odd because they didn't even supply him with anything that could remotely start a fire.

Pleased with the results, the patriarch left the traumatized young pyromaniac to his own devices and the harsh-but-reasonable training regiments he had before his grandfather's involvement. Meanwhile, Claude was more driven than ever, having earned his patriarch's approval and coming out of the event unaffected (sort of). Naturally, once he became old enough, his family sent him off the Order.

For the sake of his family... For the sake of his father, for the sake of his brothers, and for the sake of his sisters... He will rid his family of this curse.

Or die trying.
Weaknesses:
-Desperate to prove himself often results in reckless and psuedo-self-destructive behavior
-Prone to an intense sense of competition, even when inappropriate, and does not know what a friendly rivalry is
-Bodily build sacrifices endurance and strength for agility
-Lack of direct combat ability, and the one ability that could be used for direct combat is actually painful to use
-Cursed, with all the negative effects included

You were gonna do the scout character right? If so, you can but be aware you might not be as easily involved with the characters in the group who are doing stuff. Or the the Cardinal might have passed you over so that your character could join this group which fits together better than any other groups involved. Either way, it should be fine I suppose.

No, I wasn't going to be a scout. I was thinking more like experienced leader/mentor by example type deal. He goes with them and makes sure they come back in one piece.

If not, I can do recruit that wasn't able to or didn't want to join until his later years.

That sounds good. Maybe it was someone else who wanted the scout...? Oh well, whichever you want should be fine.

I'm going to use an example from an anime I watch, Ouran High School Host Club. There are a pair of twins named Kaoru and Hikaru. Together they're pretty mischievous and similar in how they act. However, once they're apart they start to develop independent personalities. Kaoru is actually kinder and more sympathetic when away from Hikaru, and Hikaru is actually a little meaner when apart from Kaoru. Each influences the other when close, but Hikaru -the cruel prankster- clearly has more sway when they're together, and thus he's more dominant. Having a linked soul like that means they can communicate with each other easier than regular people.

I hope that makes sense. ^^'

Few quick questions:
1. What shade would a Chaotic Good character lie in? Light Grey or just me?
2. Is the ability to become a priest (and the abilities that come with it) hereditary? Like, you're born with the ability to become one.
2. Is it possible to have a 'curse'/cursed soul? And then have that curse spread to your descendants?

1. Light grey. Extremely light grey would be Lawful Good.
2. Yes, and no. It depends on your soul more than anything. Special souls aren't hereditary, but powers can be.
3. Yes and yes. Just like powers, curses can be given to a line of descendants. Has to be a pretty powerful curse from a pretty powerful person.

Alrighty! Question session numero dos:

1. Are soul weapons hereditary as well?
2. Would it be possible to make a character descended from a legendary hero? I ask because I did a quick search and realized that this guy shares the same last name as my planned character.
2b. Highly doubt it, but would that end up having to be a distinct soul type?

1. No. Unless a character is deeply in tune with their ancestry and is fully aware of their ancestor's weapon down to the last part, weapons from generation to generation differ because they reflect the user's personality.
2. Yes, as long as this character has had been recorded as having children. A lot of 'mythical' figures were real, but disguised as myth to protect the regular people.
2b. No, unless they're cursed, every person is not influenced by family genes. Family actions, yes, but not genes. Souls are unique to each person.
