You've all heard the story of King Arthur and his knights. Powerful men who served justice on the isle of Britain. How a powerful sorcerer named Merlin aided them in many missions, and how they generally kept peace in their domain.

Yet this is not the story you know, for the world entity that protects our little planet from destruction and chaos has tried to suppress this story. It has been told from one generation to the next, and no written record can be found. Now it is your turn, hear this story well, so you may one day tell it to your grandchildren.

Five years ago.

The druid Merlin sat atop his spotted stallion, on top of a green hill overlooking a wide plains that swept gently towards the blue ocean. Arturia sat on her steed next to him, and her knights flanked their position on the bottom of the hill. The subjects of Camelot knew her only as Arthur, and thought that she was indeed a man. The rouse was necessary, women were not expect to do much outside of giving birth. Yet it was she who had rounded up the strongest warriors in the land. They followed her morality, her strength of arms, and her noble disposition. There were only a few who knew her true identity; her knights, Merlin, and the maid Guinevere. Guinevere had accepted the role of wife to arturia as a disguise to keep other potential suitors at bay. She had fallen in love with Lancelot, and they had held a secret wedding ceremony in the countryside miles from Camelot. Even with all the secrecy, some nasty rumors were beginning to make rounds of the unfaithful maiden.

Merlin himself was a man in his early thirties. He had a lanky build and short trimmed dark hair. His complexion was slightly pale, and his most unusual trait was his light blue eyes, which seemed to shine with energy at all hours of the day. The truth was he had minor healing magic at his disposal, and he kept his dark brown eyes hidden behind a constant stream of mana. Arturia was wearing her gold tinted plate armor, covering her from head to toe. Her stallion was black haired and muscular. It snorted when the wind would blow unpleasant odors into the horses nostrils.

The king had been told of a witch that was rising up on the west coast of Britain, a woman of incredible magic powers. She was rumored to be the type who used her ill gotten powers to take for herself, usually at the expense of all others around her. So there they all were, eight leagues away from their target. The reason they had stopped is there seemed to be an unnatural storm brewing overhead.

"I would suspect this is that witches work, summoning dark clouds isn't a particularly hard incantation to pull off if you have the right skillsets." Merlin said in as flat of a monotone as he could muster to Arturia. He loved her, and being this close sent chills into his spine, despite the fact they had been on countless missions together.

"We should arrive by sunset. Lancelot will remove her magical powers, and if he is unable we will have to kill her." She replied in her soft soprano voice. During open court Merlin used magic to give her the voice of a base, to increase the perception that she...he...was nearly indestructible.

Merlin turned his mind to Arondight, the magical sword Lancelot had carried since before he knew Arturia. It could permanently drain the magic from any it touched, so long as the wielder wished their magic to be gone. Outside of that ability, the sword never chipped or bent, and never needed shining. Lancelot refused to answer any who asked him where he acquired it, and Arturia wouldn't order him to tell her.

"Aye, the black knight will do his work. We should be back in the castle in three days time..." Merlin murmured, half to himself before he continued; "These damned clouds have blocked out the sun since it's finished rising out of the east. It'll be hard to ride at full speed."

"The black knight..." Arturia trailed off. She had never cared for Lancelot's alias. He hadn't chosen it, but it was chosen for him since Arondight was as dark as a midnight pool. Arturia had always connected darkness with evil, even if there was only partial truth to this comparison.

Suddenly lightning struck the ground in front of the hill. Merlin blinked several times to clear his vision, and when it returned to normal he beheld a dark human like figure standing 20 feet in front of them. It appeared to be no larger than a child, but carried itself like an accomplished warrior. The edges of its shape couldn't be made out and seemed to just blur where it ended. If Merlin were to try and describe it, he would have to say it was like a shadow had gotten free of its owner, become three dimensional, and then won many battles.

"Well then, here we are finally." It said in a voice that could only be describe as stone being scraped across more stone. "You have come, I have waited millennia for you."

"Impossible, demon." Arturia bellowed as she pulled her longsword from its sheath on her horse. The long pale blade shimmered in the low light as she leveled the blade with the creatures head.

"Peace King of Knights" the creature hissed. "I wish to make offerings to you, behold the sister of Arondight, Excalibur." Suddenly a gold blade sprang into existence five feet in front of Arturia and levitated there. Light seemed to be coming from the blade itself, and immediately Merlin knew the sword was a perfect fit for Arturia.

"I have heard of this blade" Arturia said in a calmer voice. "An ancient king once used it to dispense justice upon his subjects as he saw fit. The story is vague, but it seems this king was of noble intent."

"This king is you" the shadow proclaimed. "Time is not in a line, you have heard stories of your own greatness. Accept my offer." Its voice was really beginning to irritate Merlin, to the point he lowered his gaze. Upon doing so, he realized that all of the knights had moved up right behind them, and Guinevere had her bow drawn.

"Nay, for I know not your price, demon." Arturia lowered her sword and raised her voice. "Go back to the pits of hell where you came from, I'll not be brokering deals with you."

The move happened so fast that Merlin didn't even really see it. The blur suddenly jerked in motion and the next thing he knew he was laying on the grass next to his horse. Moans were coming from behind him, probably from the knights. Merlin's head was spinning as he tried to get to his feet. He almost immediately fell back down and broke his nose.

"I'm no demon, I am the Earth entity Michael, here to protect my world from the likes of you and other 'great people.'" The shadow, now Michael, nearly yelled "You will accept my offer or all of your companions will die."

Merlin was laying on his back, and could see Lancelot had successfully risen. "I'll kill you de.."

His words were cut off, as was his head. Lancelot's limp body almost fell on Merlin, and he had to roll away to prevent being soaked in crimson blood.

"No!" Shrieked Guinevere, who promptly loosed an arrow towards Michael. The arrow hadn't crossed half the distance before it turned around and buried itself in her chest. The unfaithful maiden stared in wide eyed shock before collapsing to the ground.

"Enough!" Arturia yelled. "I accept your offer. Spare my comrades."

Michael croaked in what Merlin assumed was delight, and he turned to see Arturia dismount, take two long strides, and grab Excalibur's hilt. "The contract is formed my dear King of Justice" Michael said, and Arturia vanished. Turning towards the group, the blur that was Michael jerked in motion again. "I keep my word" Michael proclaimed, "I didn't kill all of them."

Merlin turned and saw that the knights were now all dead or were dying. Some had been cut in half, others chest plate had been crushed. A loud THWUMPF sounded behind Merlin and he turned to see the world entity known as Michael was gone as well. He had left Merlin alive.

The present.

Merlin had gone to the witches village. He had begged her to curse him with powerful magic in exchange for the secrets of Camelot's defenses. Arturia was gone, the knights had been destroyed, and Merlin had given in to blind rage. The witch had given him the ability to mimic any power he saw, and so on a mountain overlooking the smoking remains of Camelot Merlin had called and challenged Michael to a duel. They had fought, and using his mimic ability he copied all the skills and magic Michael had at his disposal. Then the world entity had dimension shifted and struck Merlin's brain with his fist. When Merlin had awoke, in a crevice on a cliff the mountain had, he discovered that he had lost all of the abilities he had copied from Michael.

All that was left to him was his base healing skills, the last ability he saw Michael use, dimension phasing, and the ability to mimic. Though the last two had felt off slightly. That's how he found himself here, in this strange world. Lands he didn't recognize, no food, no shelter, only a hope for revenge.

Zandaria had just left a council meeting in the local village. The townsfolk were all riled up about the neighboring townsmen competing in the annual games. She had been asked to be the judge so there wouldn't be any cheating like there was the year before. It had been a disaster that had turned into a large brawl in the middle of a field and a repeat was not an option.

Her reputation was well known even though she was much less social than she had been many years ago. She was often asked to be judge when there was a question on the right versus wrong of things. The people seemed to need her and she enjoyed the children. She was often caught teaching the young ones and her generosity was as well known as her magic.

It was on her way home that she spied something off in the distance. It was too far away for her to tell what it was but she saw it move just a little. She kept on her way towards the mysterious creature and when she came upon it she realized it was not such a mystery, just a tall man sitting on the ground who appeared to her to be a bit disoriented. Offering him a hand up she smiled and asked him

"Why are you on the ground sir? Are you injured? Shall I get someone for you?" She stared at the man for a moment and noticed his garb. "You don't look like you are from around here. Are you lost?"

Motioning down the road just a little ways she pointed to a small log cabin home. "I live not far down the road if you would like to come with me and have something to eat. You look a little thin."

A woman had come to stand before him. Merlin gazed uneasily at her. It had worked, he had passed through time and space and was somewhere...new. Not where he wanted to be however. He had tried to phase to Michael to fight him again, and there was no sign of Michael anywhere around.

The woman spoke several sentences in a language Merlin did not know. She waved her hands towards something in another direction. "No, no, you don't need help. I won't hurt you." He then realized too late she wouldn't understand him. Marlin activated his minor healing powers and altered the way his brain understood her language. It was an experiment he had tried for years before finally succeeding. The breakthrough led to an instant understanding of the Germanic languages spoken by the winter barbarians.

Releasing his power he then said in her own language "My name is Merlin, I have crossed time and space to fight the entity known as Michael. Do you know where I can find him? He has taken from me, everything..." he trailed off.

Looking around he took in the scenery, green hills and lavish colors decorated the landscape. This clearly wasn't the bleary weather Britain had. Merlin took a deep breath and asked "where and when am I?"

The very instant Merlin mentioned the Entity Michael she gritted her teeth and pursed her lips in disgust. Her stance became that of one about to leave in a hurry.

"You are at the outskirts of Glenhallen near my home and it's almost noon. There is not a reason in the world that you should be chasing after that monster. Why would you insist on chasing your death, because he is the one who will take you to it."

She started walking down the road making him keep up with her if he chose to continue the conversation. "I would not follow after my doom, but I forgot. You can't follow him like I could now can you? Quite lucky that makes you. It will keep you alive longer."

Her mind was full of memories but she still called out. "If you are hungry that is my home and you are welcome." She went inside and for a moment she looked in the mirror and her mind went back to another time and she could see her fiance's death at the hands of Michael. She could see his pain as he was literally torn in pieces and her fear and anger at that moment was visible on her face in the mirror.

Merlin stared after the woman. Eat? He had no time for such petty things, he needed to find and kill Mi...

"She knows him?" Merlin murmured, mind racing on the implications. She knows Michael? She also said she could chase him. The answer was simple then, he'd attack her and force her to take him to Michael. Merlin tried to phase inside her house for a surprise attack.

"Ha!" He yelled in the exact same spot he was just sitting in. He hadn't phased anywhere. He activated his powers and tried again. Nothing. He furrowed his brow and concentrated as hard as he could on phasing inside her house. He experienced a profound lack of movement. "My powers are gone?"

Merlin frantically activated his healing powers, and felt the familiar flow of mana. Of course, he'd done so to understand her, so then he'd assume for whatever reason he couldn't activate his phasing powers. Were the mimic powers gone as well? He'd have to find someone of power to test it on. Merlin rose to his feet and chased after the attractive woman, and upon arriving at her door demanded:

"You know Michael! How, and are you an ally of his?" Merlin pulled all of his available mana into his hands for a brilliant light show, for he knew his healing magics were no threat to anyone. Perhaps he should have had one of the knights teach him weapon handling.

When the man showed up in her doorway she offered him a plate at her table. "Sit down, we'll eat lunch while we discuss your obsession with death." Filling the plates with food she watched him as he seemed quite antsy. As she sat she looked at him and sighed.

"Yes I know him, not personally mind you. He killed my fiance a long time ago, tore him into pieces in front of me. I have gone out of my way to avoid him since then." Her expression became saddened then slightly frightened for a split second.

Curiosity got the better of her. "What could you possibly want to find him for? What is so worth your life that you would forfeit it to lose what you went for anyway. There is nothing good that can come out of a meeting with him. Be smart, use the sense that God gave you and leave it alone."

It dawned on her that she never told him who she is. "I should introduce myself, I'm Zandaria the White Witch."

"Witch? Keep your unholy powers dormant. I've hunted many witches, several of whom even knew death magic." Merlin sat at the table where she had indicated. The conversation had made him realize he hadn't eaten anything in two days. Hunger was beginning to become a serious problem. His magic could only delay the effects of not eating, and not for long.

"What is a 'white' witch anyways? I've never heard such a term. Nor do I know where Glenhallen is. I hail from Camelot. It's a kingdom on the eastern coast of the isle of Britain...or it was. You still haven't explained to me what year this is. For me, yesterday was the year 482. As for Michael.. he captured King Arthur, killed the knights of the round table. My friends, all of them. She is alive, I know it. I'll kill Michael and rescue her and return her to Britain, where once more she will rule."

Merlin was unworried about Zandaria telling people Arturia was really a woman. He could simply discredit her. Besides, everyone knew Guinevere was the queen and Arthur was king. Nobody would believe her. Then he realized that if Zandaria showed any of her powers, he could copy them. Thinking slowly, for his energy was waning without food, he tried to provoke her. "I'm a druid, witch. What you seek to destroy I heal back. Your very counterpart is in front of you, when will you try to strike me down I wonder?"

Zandaria's brow raised and then she spoke. "The year is 618. A white witch is a witch that tends to fight for the good and righteous morals and not criminal activity." She could see the smell of lunch tempting his nose.

"Eat, you look like you need it. Let's see, Camelot was considered to be almost a fairy tale until King Arthur disappeared and Lancelot and Guinevere killed each other, presumed to be a lovers spat or that the King killed them for adultery himself, before running off. No one knows exactly what happened. Who is this she you speak of and where is she supposed to rule? If she is gone all this time she couldn't still be alive after 136 years. You are a fool to run after someone long dead."

"Fairy tale? Hardly, in a kingdom where all is fair nobody ever received what is fair. Arturia, her real name was Arturia. 'King Arthur' was actually a woman. Lancelot and Guinevere were married, and they didn't kill each other. Michael killed them in front of me, Guinevere with her own arrow. Right before Michael killed the knights, he told Arturia that she had heard legends of herself. Since she hadn't yet done anything in the past, that means she must still be alive. I'd guess Michael is keeping her in a time loop somewhere, although why is still an answer I seek."

Zandaria finished the bite of stew she was eating and looked at him critically. "Or it could mean that he changed history when he took her. My counterpart? How interesting. Upon realizing that I am a witch you assess yourself aloud as my counterpart and wonder if I shall strike you dead. Fear not Merlin. I do not usually strike fear in others unless they are hurting someone." Zandaria continued eating and noticed the tiredness around his eyes and the pallor of his skin. He would be a nice looking man if he had not been neglecting his own care.

Merlin ravenously attacked the stew that had been set before him, his willpower giving way before his hunger. "So let me recampf," Merlin half said with a mouthful of stew. Swallowing, he continued, "you're a witch that does good deeds, in hopes of what? That heaven will open up the pearly gates? Unlikely."

Zandaria was careful how to respond at first. "No, I think that it is the right way of doing things. If I can make the world a better place then I should. I try to be a good person although I am not without my own flaws." Feeling like there was more to this than just pure discussion she put her fork down and looked at him.

"What do you want from me and why?"

"Want from you? I want to copy your powers. I sacrificed Camelot for powers a witch cursed me with. I can copy anything I see." Merlin took three more massive bites and finished off his stew.

Zandaria looked at him like he had slapped her silly. She got up and put her bowl in the sink and turned to look at him.[color=ed145b] "What do you mean you sacrificed Camelot for powers?"

"So you think it's okay to steal my powers by mimicry and then just do whatever you like? Were you planning on killing me with them?" She chuckled halfheartedly. "I have no powers. My magic is mostly in spells and potions."

"Yes, I did. Camelot was doomed regardless. I'd do it again, and I intend to kill Michael. It seems you have a vendetta against him as well...it's a real shame you have no powers. Can you at least tell me the worlds current status?"

"We don't get much information beyond the English throne. Most of our information is local. Last I heard Glenhallen and Verduth were going to have their games this next week."

She purposely avoided his gaze. She knew what he was doing. He was hoping to catch her in the act. "I'm going out to the garden." She knew he would likely follow her. The thought of using her powers to stop him in his tracks and see how long it would take him to figure it out was tempting. If he made her too angry she could always blow him up but he was a good looking man and there just weren't many of those around.

Getting down on her knees she started pulling weeds away from her plants and she looked up at the sun and sighed as she worked. "So even with powers how were you intending on following Michael? It's not like dimensional travel is something most witches or druids can do."

Merlin sat there as she walked back outside, thinking hard. He heard her question from inside. "I stole his power of dimensional travel. It seems to not be working right though, I tried to phase to where he was. Here I am instead, and I can't really seem to use it anymore."

He got up and walked outside to talk to her. "You said Michael killed your fiance. What would you do if you could save him? I am a druid, all of my base powers reside in healing. All I've done all my life is save people. Yet now Arturia is gone, the knights are dead, and Camelot is history."

Redressing what she had said earlier he asked "what is the English throne? I've never heard of this country, English." He walked over to her and kneeled down, "do you need some help gardening?"

Zandaria glanced up to find him only inches from her face. Suddenly she was physically very aware of him. She sat back and looked at him again.

"The english throne of England. Britain sort of split and they are both ruled by a royal family." She rocked back on her feet and stood up. Her senses were picking up on the fact that he was indeed a handsome man who had gotten very close to her physically.

"He did and since it's not possible-" She shook her head. "This Arturia? She means that much to you? Did she know you cared so much for her?"

"Um, I-I need some water." She walked over to the well and pulled up a bucket of water. As she drank a cup of water slowly she thought to herself and wondered about her reaction to him. Why him? She was around men every day and never had she had any kind of physical reaction to any of them no matter how good looking. She continued to wonder about this.

Merlin sat there even after she rose. He found the ignored question curious, but not overly concerning. "Of course not, she was king. I was a lowly druid who happened to be useful to her. Besides, she loved justice more than anything."

He stood up and stretched his arms. "Honestly, I don't know what to do right now. I need to gather up power so I can face off against Michael again. I'll kill him, I will slay the Earth entity and save Arturia from her fate no matter the cost."

"Again? You fought him before?" She looked him over and he appeared to have all of his parts. "How? How can you have survived his attacks. I have powers that could kill and I couldn't-" She stopped realizing what she said. She turned away and went into the house.

"What? Wait! You told me you had no powers. Why lie to me witch? I can't copy anything I don't see." Merlin threw his arms up in the air in disgust. "I can copy powers. I took his, that insane speed. The strength was overwhelming, I couldn't even control it. I've lost it all though,..he struck me somehow with his phasing. The strength I had taken is probably the only reason I'm alive."

Zandaria came out of the house and corrected him. "You took nothing from him! You copied it therefore he can control it just a little bit better than you at how they are used. You don't know what the triggers are and how to handle them. That doesn't come with having the power instantly."

"I can kill him," Merlin insisted. "I just need a stronger power source. I'll travel worlds and take what I need from those of power..." he trailed off. "Maybe not, my phase ability isn't working well like i said. I need to figure out what's wrong with that first."

She had run out of the house in such fury that she was arguing almost face to face only two feet from this man who had openly said he was there to copy her powers and yet she was not afraid of him hurting her in the least.

"If she doesn't love you back what is your purpose for going? The chances of her being alive are so remote. Are you that obsessed with this girl? Is she really worth all of the harm you will do to others in the process? Is she worth your life?"

"All I am, all I've ever been is someone who serves and saves. This 'girl', as you put it, is the most just ruler you could ever imagine. Kind, strong, loyal. She loved her people without fault. I am confused, but you think my stealing powers hurts others? How so. It is only mimicry, so it's not as though they lose their powers."

Merlin turned to gaze at the sky. "I would be less than nothing without what she did for me. She gave me a purpose greater than myself, and united my peoples. The English, you called them? They were once barbarians, just like the nordic and germanic tribes. Until Camelot was built, that is."

He turned back to her, eyes accusing. "What have you done since your fiance was slain? Hidden in this village? What if you had the power to avenge him, to see the tyrant Michael dead at your feet? Would you be able to resist the urge for revenge?"

Zandaria looked at her hands for a moment and she nodded "I've been around a lot longer than you think Merlin. I've done a lot of good but I wanted revenge in the beginning but no longer. Michael is a part of this world and killing him would cause his purpose to go unserved." She looked at him as he looked at her eyes. She froze him in time. His eyes unseeing and she walked up to him and kissed his face. She was testing something.

She walked to his other side and unfroze him. She was on the wrong side of him and she knew it but would he?

"Do you know my name Merlin?"

"You said your name was Zandaria the White Witch. Why ask something like that?" Merlin rubbed at a sudden tingling feeling on his cheek. He tried to activate  the teleport ability she just used, but to no avail. "I don't...what? I can't use your power...I don't understand. I can't teleport..."

He looked troubled. Turning to where she stood now he asked "Do you have some sort of power that blocks my own?"

"No, I just didn't use the power you thought I did. I asked you my name to see if you listen to what I say to you. I have decided, against my better judgement to teach you and take you to Michael. BUT we will not be stealing any powers from anyone else. If you'd like I'll let you copy my powers and I'll teach you how to use them so you don't get killed."

She wondered if she was losing her mind. This was a suicide mission but he was so obsessed that he wasn't going to leave it alone until he got himself killed. "I'll need to stock up on some potions as well before we leave."

Merlin threw his arms up and grunted. Even with Arturia it was the same, trying to predict actions was useless. Women always defied his expectations of logic.

Chapter 2.

Zandaria had just finished making her last potion. She went outside to find Merlin. He had been sleeping in her spare room for the last two nights. He was getting very anxious to go but she still had to teach him how to use her powers.

"Merlin? Are you ready? I'm finally finished with the potions." She saw him near the garden and smiled.

"Ungghhh, uh, yeah, I was just...resting my eyes. Yeah." He stood up from where he'd been sitting and winced as his back screamed in protest. Sleeping while sitting up never turned out well. "Huh? Potions? Oh, we can go then?"

He stretched his arms as wide as he could and yawned. Suddenly there were loud screams coming from the direction of the village. "What in the world is that? Do you have problems with feral animals here?"

Hearing the panic in the voices and the screams of pain Zandaria instantly began running towards the village. "Something is very wrong!" She yelled as she past him, "Come with me!" When she got close enough to see she hid behind a tree to get a better look. She reached behind her and grabbed his hand so he would stay hidden.

The village was under attack. The Scots had invaded and the warriors were destroying the village and killing all of the men they saw or anyone who got in their way. Seeing a young child get struck down as a warrior swung his mace backwards made her cry out in anger.

Zandaria ran out into the middle of the fray and threw her hands up in the air angrily. Everything in the village stopped. She turned and threw her hands up a little differently as she pointed them at the warriors. When she did the molecular structure of the warriors spun so fast it blew them up.

"I hope you are watching Merlin."

Merlin was walking up as Zandaria slaughtered the soldiers around her. "That is...interesting. So you can stop time and disolve enemies? I don't really understand how those powers intersect." He walked up to the child who had been struck and knelt by the young boy. The child's skull had been cracked and he was dying. Merlin stroked the boys cheek, power coursing through his hands. "Rise child, and find your mother."

The boy got up and stared wide eyed at Merlin first, then Zandaria. "Go!" Merlin shouted. The boy ran off.

Zandaria smiled as he healed the child. As the freeze started to wear off the rest of the village opened their eyes in shock at the dead warriors all over the ground. When they saw Zandaria they knew who had done it.Those that had seen the boy fall were curious about Merlin. They were beseeched with requests for healing. Zandaria looked at Merlin and smiled. "I believe they are asking for you druid."

She went to the other side of the village and started helping people over there leaving Merlin to heal those that he could.

A queue had quickly formed in front of Merlin. Many had cuts or burns or bruises caused by the fighting, which Merlin healed. Many of the people who came up to him were holding the corpse of a loved one who had been stabbed through the heart, or had their head bashed in. One little girl had been slashed right across her eyes, leaving her blind. Despair was quickly welling up in Merlin, for he was too weak for such tasks.

Standing he shouted "If your loved one is no longer alive, plan a funeral for them. I cannot bring people back from the dead. Even if I could, it would be necromancy, an evil art that twists the souls of the enslaved."

Kneeling back in front of the little girl he cast multiple spells to remove the scars and relieve her pain. "I'm sorry young miss, I am not strong enough to heal blindness. Your scars are removed, the cut is healed, but that is all I can do."

Zandaria returned looking for him a little while later. She had been helping some of the elders. Some of her spells had righted buildings that were falling over and she had healed some of the severely wounded. Spells took longer than his power did though. Seeing him on the ground near a child she walked over and  sat down near him. She hugged the child and called out for her mother who ran over and hugged the child to her and ran off. Zandaria looked up at the village and spoke to Merlin.

[color=ed145b]"You asked what I do, what I have done since Michael? This is what I do. I help save others."

After the village calmed down she was going over the bodies and realized they were scottish warriors come to claim land for Scotland in their fight against the Royal family. Her heart fell. She knew there would be a lot more of this in the future. She turned to the people and yelled.

"These men are from Scotland. They are at war with our country. The only way you will keep the village safe is to build a wall around it." She was getting very tired. Spells took more out of her than her powers did. She turned and started to walk back home.

Merlin suddenly jolted. His dimensional phasing had been, unlocked? "Zandaria, I think I can phase again." He couldn't understand it, just like that, his power returned? Was there a time limit on it? He needed to wait a few days after using it? Or was there something else linked to it. "Say...would you explain how time control and rapid disintegration are related? I don't really understand that."

Zandaria turned and waited for him to catch up. "It's not really time control or rapid disintegration." She thought a moment on how to describe it. "Think of a body as made up of a million specs of dirt that when together make up a person. My power makes thos specs go faster or slower depending on what I want them to do. If they go too slow then they stop, hence the freezing in place. If they go too fast they will literally blow apart causing death of the body."
