After making her statement, she'd paused for a moment before she turned on her heel with a bit of dramatic flourish before leaving the strange room behind. All she wanted was to get back home. Besides, she had work that night and she did want to visit her family. Fortunately, she didn't tell them of her intentions. If she did, she was sure her older brother would demand he come with her if he couldn't talk her out of it.

Besides, having to return empty-handed to an expectant/hopeful family would be a HUGE blow to her ego.

It was as she was leaving that she heard the sound of footsteps coming up from behind her. She heard them speak and introduce themselves but didn't respond yet. And it was right as she emerged from the temple that she whirled to face them. Taking a moment, she let her eyes roam over him in curiosity. The last area they were in was a bit dark after the artifact burst so she didn't get a good look at anyone. But Ariah? She liked.

Finally bringing her eyes back up to his face, she responded.

"Oh, I know who you are. You know, the whole strange mind... thing. Regardless, it's a true pleasure. I am Mila." She could hear the charm he added to his voice to try and 'sweet-talk' her. Having done the same thing in her own line of work, she wasn't surprised by it and could pick up on it pretty well. It was... cute.

Motioning for him to follow, she took off in the direction of her boat without looking behind her. He would follow.

Nina Nightingale

Despite the comments against her minor fuss, Nina mentally and physically sighed in relief as Sophia let her know the gesture was appreciated, but unnecessary. It at least meant that her chances of getting off the island, and hopefully not offending Sophia herself, were at least intact. Though at the same time, the woman's tinge of heartbreak and mental message about the very leader of the rebellion in Sheolan possibly knowing a doctor or such brought a small sense of hope into the necromantess' mind. If there was a chance to save her mother, then...heavens, it was a chance she was going to take if she could despite the artifact not having worked as any of them had believed it would.

Indeed, however, she had her own small run-in with the rebels in the past...none to pleasant either. But as long as she did not think about the matter, she would hopefully not maybe trigger a bad reaction from her host back to the mainland? It was an ironic situation, to be sure, but still a concealed worry was there in the very back of her mind about that. Though when Sophia nodded to her and those riding with her, Nina gave a responding, small nod back in a respectful manner, ready to follow her host onto the ship.

"Duly noted," the girl said, a tinge of relief in her voice as she tried to retain a sense of calm after her prior outburst.

Agnes

Agnes sat on the deck of a small sloop that is headed back for Sheolan, tying up her hair which got messy from the strong winds. A wasted trip here... She opened her book and flipped to the last chapter, gazing periodically at the seagulls flying by. That relic had shattered apart just like that, before she could even have her wish stated out. Figures, a gimmick relic like that is too good to be true... She squinted her eyes against the orange sunlight to read the last pages of that book she borrowed, she wasn't sure why, but she found herself unable to concentrate from those ringing thoughts in her head.

Probably just me... the whole ferry is taking a toll on me... Agnes disregarded those clutter of voices, closing the book and tidying up her robes for her trip back home. Similar thoughts like this would surface before, and she wondered how it would be like to have a peaceful and more simple life. My subconsciousness acting up again... Better focus on my reality for now... Have to return this book to the library, then try an attempt on the rebel leader tonight. Otherwise the Baron will be pissed... Her thoughts are calm and collected this time, but unfortunately clear and concise enough for most, if not all to 'hear' it. Not too interested on prying between affairs of a kingdom fighting within a kingdom, but a job's a job... A plate of porkchop after all these would do ~~

Sofia Oaks

Sofia tensed as she was hugged, giving the man an odd, but somehow thankful look. She didn't say anything though and didn't feel the need to reply in the least - only give subtle feelings of gratitude towards the gesture. Before long though, Kairos chimed in with approval to which she only mentally nodded and looked to her apparent new companion. Quietly, she wandered about the girl, but in the end just offered a soft smile - she could tell there was something about the girl, something normally seen as dark and evil, but Nina hardly seemed the type. Deciding to reserve judgement, she turned towards a small boat that approached, the men giving her questioning gazes. "She is with me," she spoke simply and while they looked at each other in confusion, seemed to accept it. As they got closer, two men offered a hand into the small boat that would take them back to the ship, which Sofia took without hesitation before sitting as the vessel rocked back and forth against the waves.

Suddenly, her mind tinged with alarm as she heard thoughts of one of the strangers - a woman seeking Corda as a target! Apparently the woman decided that this was all madness inside her own head, making Sofia huffed lightly to herself, knowing full well that yelling at her probably wouldn't do much. She had to make it back to the rebellion before the assassin did and warn her. She shot a look towards Nina and pursed her lips. 'We might be making a detour before being able to talk to Corda..' she mentally projected only to Nina, hopeful the girl would understand exactly why.

A few minutes later, the pair was on board the ship, to which Sofia yelled to the captain, "we need to make haste back to Sheolan!" Apparently the warrior was a woman of a more serious tone as the statement put the crew into a frenzy. Looking to Nina, she let out a slight sigh. "... well, we should get out of the way. The mess hall is below deck and.." She tensed slightly as she continued, ".. I suppose you can board in my room.." Unsure of how that'd work out, exactly, Sofia had resigned herself to it since it was the only room left on the ship for the girl. Watching Nina for a brief moment, Sofia suddenly turned around and made her way to the room - regardless if Nina followed her or not.

Kairos Threadbare

A short while later, Kairos found himself back at the site of his initial landing, his footsteps from his early morning trek barely visible as the morning breeze washed the sand across their imprints. Taking a moment to glance up at the sun, shielding the worse of the glare with one of his hands he sighed inwardly as the sun still hung high in the sky. It would be hours still before his group returned and his brief passage through the temple had turned up no clues that anything of value existed apart from the strange relic.’Well not every venture will be a success, though a shame this one turned out to be such a boring bust’.

Sitting down on the warm sand and looking out to the ocean, the thoughts of the others began to wash against his own mind. Kairos still found the prospect of thoughts that were not his own to be within his own head unsettling, but the potential of such an ability was beyond intriguing. Watching the waves, a particularly interesting thought drifted by his conscience ... Have to return this book to the library, then try an attempt on the rebel leader tonight. Otherwise the Baron will be pissed.... Smiling to himself as he observed the commotion in the mind that seemed to result from the thought, Kairos decided to play the ‘voice of doubt’ with this newcomer and perhaps have them reveal more information than they intended

Though his experience with this ability was non-existent, he knew some of the other individuals earlier had ‘projected’ their thoughts - so it should be possible to for him to do the same. Reaching out towards the entity from which the murderous intent had come, Kairos attempted to project a mimicry of the entity towards themselves ”Am I sure I can do this? others have tried to assassinate the leader before and failed, I can’t afford to fail like they have”. It was uncertain if they would react to the thought, but if they did register this small seed of doubt it could lead to a few entertaining outcomes or the revelation of important information - even if his ruse was discovered. And if nothing happened? Well it was still a valuable experiment to undertake, Kairos knew he would need to learn how to use this ability properly before others could use it against him

Ariah Acrana

Ariah heard her words and it was in that moment he felt that spark nearby, tracing her light back to her soul, seeking out it's source. It was still hard and required a large portion of concentration, but at the end of the day he had his answer and a new found connection to her. She was... sweet. A little... something else and it wasn't all good, but the sweet and nice out shined what little bad she had trying to peak out.

When she turned around with a flourish and started to walk away he saw the style and grace she had and there was something there. The way she gestured him on and the way she walked, it drew his eyes to her hind end which in turn made him unconsciously nod in approval. After all she was HOT! Of course in his mind he'd show something of the matter, but who could blame him? Seeing a nice girl, with a body like that, and after making a gesture like she did. He was only Human after all!

Though regardless she was right, he followed her, perhaps looking at her hind end for a bit too long before snapping his attention back up to the back of her head. Picking up his pace again to walk alongside her, "I need to thank you again for this. I guess it shows how far I plan ahead, so... Well I'm glad you were hear to save me from a lonely life on this island." He said, trying to spark up some side conversation. After all if he was going to join her on the ride back to the mainland they had mind as well become friends right?

As Mila walked, her thoughts were scattered as she tried to come up with some sort of explanation for the strange... connection she had with those strangers. Sure, she knew their names due to this connection but she didn't really know them. Not truly. So, you could probably understand her desire to get as realistically far away as possible.

Which really made her out-of-the-blue decision to give one of these strangers a free ride. To be honest, she didn't really figure anyone would take her up on it. From what she could gather, she was a bit of a stand-out person compared to them all. They seemed to be more... prepared for combat with weapons or at least an aura of control. Most of them, at least. And yet here she is. A dancer, no matter how good. A bit odd, indeed.

Speaking of which...

She resisted the urge to confront Ariah for his... thoughts pertaining to her. More specifically, her rear end. She nearly stopped walking to perhaps yell or at least tease him about it. But, she held herself back and continued on as if she was none the wiser. After all... could she really blame him?

Her lips quirked up into a small smirk at her thoughts before she felt his presence beside her. Glancing at him with a raised eyebrow and an expression of 'What?', she didn't have to wait long for him to speak. At his thanks and exaggerations at being left behind if it weren't for her, she couldn't stop the small laugh from escaping as she turned to look forward once more.

"Oh, darlin'... no need to exaggerate. I am quite positive that you could'a gotten a ride from one of the others, surely. BUT, I will accept your thanks." She let her statement barely sink in for even a moment before speaking once more, unable to stop herself. "Also, you might want to be careful with your thoughts. You never know who may be listening at that moment. Although,"

Her eyes dragged themselves to his and she couldn't stop the sultry and teasing tone she took on. "I am well aware of my fantastic rear end, actually. But, for your sake... I'll pretend I didn't hear you, hmm?" Giving a wink, she picked up her speed a little as she passed a familiar bush of flowers. They were close to the beach where their ride would be waiting.

Agnes

Agnes laid against the creaking wooden walls of the ship deck, a sense of doubt running through her head then, just like the few times before. Success rate isn't high of course with only very few conspirators on the plot, but that makes it less likely to be leaked. And as long as there is a path for me to escape, I could return again and make another attempt. A small scale plot that is worth a try, after all its not like I'm trying to kill the King, everyone knows that he is an untouchable target. Haven't been killed or captured for 12 years, with the usual night infiltration, there wouldn't be any problems~

And getting thirsty there, will have to buy lemonade once I reached the harbour. She thought, emptying out her last sachet of water.

Nina Nightingale

The female necromancer followed along silently behind Sofia as she walked towards the room the two apparently were to share. Though the other woman's seriousness seemed to at least get the crew moving and started up. Still, upon getting the mental message from the other woman the necromantess nodded silently in approval. She could understand why, after hearing such a thought about killing the rebel leader, that Sofia, a member of the rebellion, would want to perhaps take a quick detour with that in mind. Albeit, Nina herself was not on the best of terms with the rebels, but at the same time she could empathize with the situation as well. Were someone to go after her mother, and were on the same ship as herself, it would not exactly help things to lead the person right to their target directly.

Though she could not help but mentally sigh at herself for being in this situation. What was this all going to amount to, being connected seemingly to several stranger like this? She really did not know right now, but at the least she knew her current goal: Get to this "Corda" who was the leader of the rebellion for info about a doctor, which required keeping this would-be assassin from getting to her at all. So in that respect, Sofia and Nina's goals aligned perfectly for the time being. It was at least one thing that seemed to be going well at the moment, at least...
