Hi! So I was wondering if for example someone was not 18 yet but can handle mature content are you allowed to let them participate in your roleplays?
Is the 18+ tag just there to signify mature themes?

Thanks!

Considering how mature content is non-public in any case, it is up to the participants in such private RPs to determine whom to let in there. That is our take on it at least, @ineffable.

It's more of a guideline, not a strict rule, similar to how one uses the casual tag to give an indication of the writing standard they want to use.

Although if there's legal implications based on the content and age groups that depend on what country you're in, all I can say is I hope the younger person in question is lying about their age if the wrong parties catch interest.

In reality the 18+ tag doesn't need to be used in public roleplays since most of the content will be readable by people of all ages. GMs may choose to use it to give a guideline on the content that it may contain, eg: horror, violence, drugs, etc.

The tag is more for the 1x1 section and those who wish to engage in smut writing within the PM system. Since we don't allow sexual content on the public section of the board we limit it to where it is more private and it does not interfere with Google's AdSense. So it's really just a way to say you may be interested in an adult 1x1 without going into the details.
