It's been 10,000 years since the defeat of King Alfor at the hands of Emperor Zarkon. The final battle lasted for days, it led to the destruction of Altea a desolate but strategically important planet. Emperor Zarkon made his worst mistake the day he killed Alfor. Alfor was the most respected man in the known universe. Those that initially refused to fight felt compelled to fight back now.

Princess Allura assumed the throne of Arus becoming the queen. She led her people and their allies into battle against the Galra Empire. It took another six years but the Voltron Alliance was successful in killing Emperor Zarkon and confining the Galra people to another dimension. Queen Allura was stricken with a disease that was slowly killing her. Her final act was to separate the Lions of Voltron to the farthest reaches of the universe. The Paladins went with them and began population efforts to protect the lion. After 10,000 years those planets are now home to a secret long forgotten and home to thriving societies.

During the 10,000 years in another dimension Galra Empire thrived, becoming stronger with no one to stop it. They were tirelessly towards returning and getting revenge. They finally succeeded, their first act upon their return was to return in numerous locations with overwhelming force and wiping out or enslaving everyone on the planet. Restoring their empire near instantaneously.

My Blue Paladin will remain a surprise for now. No it is not a time displaced Allura or Allura having slept in cryostasis for ten thousand years, Allura died of her illness shortly after sending the lions away.

Still he did his best during training and showed he was willing to help his fellow recruits out whenever necessary. As a result his supervisors expected him to do well in the future and maybe become second in command of a small squad one day
