Suzaku Uzumaki

Leaf ANBU, codename Fox

A wide, spinning slash followed up by a kick, but it was dodged. Suzaku Uzumaki was in the middle of a fight with his own Shadow Clone. In one of his hands, he held Fūjin in a reverse grip, while in his other, he was holding a fully formed Rasengan. His clone ducked the kick and made his return with a wide, upward slash - one of his favorite moves. Suzaku dodged the blow by leaning backwards. Using the momentum from the lean, he completed it into a back flip and landed only on his sword using hand. Landing back on his feet, the clone was already standing right in front of him, bringing down the blade in an overhead slash. Spotting this opening, Suzaku used the leftover momentum from his back flip and turned it into a spinning motion. His blade slashed a wide arc, cutting the clone square in the chest. It dispersed in a puff of smoke, and Suzaku immediately gained the combat experience from the clone. he knew the cause of the opening and considered several possibilities on fixing it.

As he was pondering on ways to remove the opening, he was approached by a messenger."Suzaku-sama, Lady Meisa sent for you. The details are not clear but it looks like you are needed by Hokage-sama. You are to report immediately." Suzaku nodded and dispelled his Rasengan without any further words. He pulled away his mask from his face, there will be no need for it once he reports. Using The Body Flicker technique two times, he was approaching the building where Hisoka-sama was residing. He knew it was a mission, the only question was what kind of mission. Using the Body Flicker for one last time, he reappeared a few seconds later in the office of the Hokake. Dropping to one knee, he raised his head.

"You called for me, Hokage-sama?"

Ryu closed his eyes as the silence between them spread. He began to wonder if he said something wrong and offended her. He didn't like offending anyone, but he never really notices if he does or not. He pondered on what he said, until Natsume gave him a title of a book. He hadn't actually read Snow on the Ocean, but he had seen it in the stores before. He was a little suprised to see that she had answered his question and decided to give one in return, "The Last Breath" He didn't really say anything else, but he sat up and turned around to look at Natsume. The girl was looking through the mist and awaiting their new teammate. He began to wonder about the young maidens back story. They had just met and he didn't want to overstep any boundries, so he let his imagination wander through all the possible happenings of the young Yuki clan member's history.

The last breath. She hadnt heard of it. She would look into it. Reading was something she enjoyed so a new book would be something of interest to. She noticed her teammate turn towards her but she did not return his gaze. Instead she looked at his sword. "Are you any good with...Swift was it?" There was a 50/50 chance he would take that as a challenge to spar but that wasnt actually how she had ment it. But anything beat waiting around doing nothing. What could go wrong? Thats what teammates did right?

Ryu smiled as Natsume asked about Swift. Swordsmanship was a good portion of his life and he enjoyed every second of it. He reached behind his back and detached Swift and its sheath. He quickley moved it between his hands and then laid it on the ground before him. "I have some skills. I have a long way before I hit my goal though." He spoke in a very calm voice. He quickley picked up his sword with his left hand and stood up. "If you want to find out how good of a swordsman I am, how about we spar a little? At least until our last teammate arrives." He said with a smile. He knew she didn't mean what she said as a challenge, but having the knowledge of what your teammates are capable of is a essential tool when on a mission.

Tsuyoshi Nakagawa

"Make sure to take regular breaks and don't let them push you too hard."

"Yes, mum."

"And don't get into any sword duels. You might be a big boy, but you can still get cut up like anyone else."

"Yes, mum."

"And......oh, I think you've had enough of my nagging. Just be careful, yeah?"

"I will." Tsuyoshi chuckled as he said it. His mum was intent on fussing over his first foray into the ninja world. Tsuyoshi wasn't worried in the slightest. He had gotten into plenty of trouble at the academy, and he didn't feel he needed to worry about silly little things like this at all. And come what may, he planned to make something of himself. He wouldn't be able to do that if he took his concerned mum's advice and played it safe all day. Still, no need to make her worry any more by being straight with her. He waved his family goodbye one last time and started on his way. Their team had been arranged to meet up on some training field or the other. Tsuyoshi always wondered why they had training "fields" in a village like Kumogakure. He often mused that their must be Konoha-philes in the village leadership. But it wasn't any of his business if they insisted on having it that way.

Tsuyoshi appeared to be first on the scene, as he could see his would-be teacher relaxing, looking rather pleased with himself. Tsuyoshi knew that look, it was the look instructors at the academy got when they thought they had come up with something clever. It was always a pain to deal with those people. But Tsuyoshi planned on rising to the challenge, whatever it happened to be. He approached his teacher and stated. "Tsuyoshi Nakagawa, reporting for duty sir." He said it in a mostly half serious tone. He didn't intend on being so stuffy all day, but he was prepared to do whatever he had to on his first day.

Natsume appreciated the modesty from her teammate. She stood up off the tree and considered the proposal. "sure" the disadvantage seemed to be hers given that when she reached for her weapon she drew only a kunai. Not the best weapon for a sword but it was what she had, there wasnt a reason to waste any other weapon or tools either. she spun the blade around her finger before leveling it in an reverse grip infront of her neck in her dominant hand. Her other hand floated about two inches behind the kunai. she crouched into a set stance and waited for Ryu. Him having a sword would probably put her on the defensive most likely and she probably wouldn't get much opportunities to weave handsigns. She knew it would be interesting but she would have to make every move carefully

Takeshi Shun

Dew Island

A small smile touched his lips as Takeshi watched two of his new students, Ryu and Natsume it looked like, prepare to spar. He had been sitting on the water for some time, simply watching as his two students spoke to each other. Takeshi thought about getting up and introducing himself, but he instead decided to wait and see what came of their sparring match. It was always interesting getting an idea of how people would fight, and Takeshi thought now was a good enough time to find out some more about the two students.

And so he sat, shrouded in the mist, waiting for his third student to arrive. As he sat lazily on the water's surface, Takeshi's thoughts briefly traveled to Mika Hayashi. He wondered how she was faring with her new students. The thought made him shiver slightly, he already felt sorry for them. Turning back to the action ahead of him, Takeshi watched to see how things developed.

~Shikaroku Nara~
~Team 9~

The pain was intense.

Shikaroku was nearly doubled over as the migraine sent a new wave of pain crashing through his head. Once again he vomited violently. This had been one of his worst migraines in a long time. Steadying himself, Shikaroku wiped the vomit from his face. The pain subsided ever so slightly and Shikaroku finally managed to stand. His legs shaking underneath him, Shikaroku made his way to the door of his room. He was supposed to have met up with his new team already, but he had stressed himself out, and as a result, the migraine had coming sweeping in. Not for the first time that day, Shikaroku considered taking the special pills that he kept hidden in his pocket. It would remove the pain he knew, but he also did not want to rely on the medication, especially when he was meeting his team for the first time.

Pausing at the door, Shikaroku calmed himself. The migraine had dulled to a steady throbbing pain, he could handle that for now. He'd have to. Leaving his room, Shikaroku grabbed his tools and equipment, and headed out the door of his home.

Making his way down the streets towards the training fields, Shikaroku tried to keep his thoughts flowing, rather than focusing on anything in particular. It usually helped to stop the migraines. By the time he had made it to the fields, his migraine was almost entirely faded. Stepping out he noticed his whole team already there. Shikaroku looked around sheepishly at his new teammates and his sensei. Raising a hand he spoke briefly. "Hi, I'm Shikaroku Nara. It's... nice to meet you all." He lowered his hand slowly and waited for them to respond.

Ryu allowed his smile to fade as he focused his senses on his new opponent. He watched as she pulled out a kunai and then proceeded to put herself into a defensive posture. It seemed she was awaiting the first move. This gave Ryu enough time to observe his environment. The mist was still dense, a small breeze interchanged between the north and south direction, and the sand beneath his feet was a very fine grain. He knew these conditions would become important and he made a note to remember them when needed. Ryu, after the brief scan of the environment, took his stance. He crouched down winding up his legs for a push, and planted his sheathed sword into the ground. He took one last deep breath and began. With a quick burst of speed, Ryu pushed against the sand with his legs and his sword with his arms. The combined action was able to accelerate him to his maximum speed faster than if he would have push off normally on the loose sand. Halfway through the jump start, He pulled his sword out of the ground and began to unsheathe it. By the time he reached Natsume, Ryu had completely unsheathed Swift and had it ready to strike. With his sheath in his left hand and Swift in the other, Ryu sent an attack flying at Natsume's guarding hand. He was, of course, using the back side of his sword, because he didn't wan't to cause any damage that would need extensive medical treatment to repair.

Kato Daiki – You Again!

It’s been nearly two years since Shoji’s attack on jutsu and those who performed it. During the year and a half from then Kato hadn’t been doing much in the way of working on his jutsu. Typically you would think he’d at least be a chunnin by now but that wasn’t that case. Kumo needed to rebuild which meant some things took precedence over others. Kato was out every day working as hard as he could around the village trying to fix up the damage that resulted nearly two years ago. This obviously not leaving him a lot of time to work on becoming a chunnin, not to mention most of the paper work for a lot of people was destroyed or tampered with the point of all documents potentially being useless which made being assigned to a squad extremely difficult and time consuming.

Finally though Kato was assigned to a squad with some sensei named Satoshi. He had never heard that name before, not even in the march towards Shoji, hopefully this sensei wouldn’t be a coward like Kato’s previous instructors who all seemed to have left when Kumo was overtaken by Shoji. It was early in the day and Kato had just woken up only a few minutes ago just to get ready and strap his shield on.

The minute he stepped out the door he took a deep breath and enjoyed the sights that Kumo provided. It was hard work but everyone seemed better for it. The anger built up inside Kato during the battle against Shoji had died down significantly over the following months and he was finally nearly like himself again before It all happened. Sadly he can only use the word nearly because he is continuously reminded of Genkei at least once a month. He can’t explain it but occasionally he sees Genkei’s image around town as if he was a regular person walking down the streets. Every time he sees the images he always hears the same damn voice. It’s always Genkei saying ”Obey. You must obey. Kill the Shinobi.” over and over again.

Generally when this happens Kato is able to stop himself from doing anything stupid but there are still some moments where he can’t help himself and he ends up charging at someone or starts shouting or something else stupid. Kato has tried to keep this whole fact hidden from everyone, hoping that they wouldn’t think he was crazy and allow him to just be a normal ninja like the old-days. Usually if he does have a bad outburst or does something stupid he tries to save himself from suspicion by saying that he was just calling out to a friend or that he thought he saw a rouge ninja in the shadows. Kato wasn’t sure but he began thinking that people were starting to get suspicious.

The young shinobi reached into his inside cloak pocket and pulled out a crumbled piece of paper which basically stated where and when to meet Satoshi. Without a second glance at his house Kato was gone and on his way to meet his sensei at a ramen shop. Within a few moments the shop was in site and Kato could clearly see a group sitting in there and talking. He wasn’t sure what his sensei or teammates looked like but he was sure a group of people gathered together at a ramen shop was a good place to start. Looking.

Apparently Kato was slightly late because the group seemed to already be exiting the shop. One by one they seemed to leave, the two younger ninja leaving first. After the second genin exited the shop Kato’s head began to throb with great intensity. ”Ah” Kato said through clenched teeth as he placed his left hand firmed on his forehead in hopes that it would stop the pain. It didn’t. His eyes were closed in pain. Kato knew exactly what was happening, Genkei was making another one of his famous appearances. Why? Why now!? Today was supposed to be difference!

Kato looked up, his hand still pressed firmly against his head. He opened his eyes to once again look at the ramen shop. However this time he didn’t see genin exiting. He saw the third person exit, and it wasn’t a typical Kumo shinobi. It was of course, Genkei; face, body, and all. ”Come on...snap out of it…it’s not him…it’s not him…it’s not him.” Kato tried to keep himself calm and continuously reminded himself that whoever was leaving the ramen shop wasn’t Genkei. Then the voices followed. They echoed in his mind, he couldn’t escape them. They told him to kill, they told him to obey. Kato tried to shake the voices out of his head but nothing worked.

Then it happened. Kato went into a state of mind very similar to a year and a half ago. He believed that the individual in front of him truly was Genkei. Even though the voices told him to obey the young shinobi still had some fight in him. Sadly he lost the first fight which kept him grounded to the here-and-now even though he was able to win the second fight which told him to obey. The throbbing pain stopped. Kato once again wasn’t himself. His eyes opened wide once again giving him the face of a psychotic killer once more.

”Goddamn it Genkei! I’ll kill you!!!” this was the first time Kato’s outburst audibly spoke Genkei’s name. This was one of the extremely rare cases where Kato was left fighting an internal war and was having a hard time pushing back. The last case similar to this thankfully took place in the safety of his own house which obviously helped prevent any public suspicious as to Kato being crazy. As fast as possible Kato reached for a kunai and charged, his outburst continuing as he ran forward. He didn’t mean to, he truly didn’t but Kato ended up finding himself charging right towards Satoshi.

((Kato is still seeing Genkei’s body over Satoshi so he is unable to recognize Satoshi as the stranger from the march towards Shoji.))

Eiji Emiya

If Eiji caught Shiro's words then he didn't show it and just smiled at his "yes, sir." He wondered if Kuni would ever say that and then decided that that was probably an useless question. The answer was way too obvious. Speaking of obvious question, Kuni immediately fired one at him. Eiji rolled his eyes and shook his head before knocking Kuni's fist to the side with his own. "Don't be a wiseacre." He said before turning around to face the trees in the northwest.

"Let's go." He said as he started running, urging the young shinobi to follow him. He set a decent speed, something that the genin could follow without that much difficulties, but just fast enough to make them work a bit. Endurance was important for a shinobi. Quickly they would disappear in the forest and the trainingsfield would lay empty in the rain. A little bird flew home.

As he was running, he motioned that the genin should run next to him, one on each side. "First of all," he said as he kept up the speed, "I want you guys to introduce yourselfs. You are working in a team now, that means that we need to rely on each other. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your teammembers is important when working together so that you can form solid tactics when it comes to completing a mission and battling enemies. If we don't trust each other with our weaknesses we can never be a good team.

Natsume Yuki

Dew Islet

Natsume watched Ryu closely. Given that the swords name was swift she assumed that he was a speed type, although she would have to wait to confirm that. When he took his stance she noticed his footing, he was taking the sandy terrain into account. That was impressive and so was the speed he attacked her with. Her response was to step towards him quickly. Infighting would be her advantage at the moment if, and only if she could get under his guard. His two handed style posed a threat but she was not dismayed. Stepping in she crossed her arms, so that the kunai would block the incoming blade and the other hand would still be on guard. If she had a second kunai, and enough experience that could have turn into a finishing blow but she didnt so she spun with Ryus momentum as soon as the sword connected, pushing herself against him and pushing out with the guard arm to push him away from her. the Sand beneath her feet stole some of the momentum from the push because of the footing but it should have done the same to him if his feet were firmly planted. Natsume took a step back into her stance once more. for the brief instant that she was close to him she noticed something strange to her, he was warm.

Ryu got pushed backwards across the sand. He didn't go far, but it was enough to leave a large trail in the ground. He was surprised, just for a moment, that she would step into the blow and get under his guard, but that surprise was soon overwritten with a sense of calm. He had to keep control of the fight and not lose focus. He began to close the the distance with another burst of speed. This time he took his sheath and swung it along with the sword. The sword was aiming at her kunai hand, and the sheath was aiming at her left leg. He knew that he was open to a counter attack, and knew that he could probably react to it in time. He had purposely aimed the sheath at her outer leg, because he could change direction of the sheaths swing if she decided to counter attack. If he could pin her kunai arm between his sheath and his sword, he could possibly maintain control of the fight and win the match. He had learned this feint when he was training with his mother. She said that it was a popular tactic that his father used whenever he wanted to test the opponent on his or her witts. Now Ryu, just like his father did, was testing Natsume. Will she see through the feint and take the appropriate action or fall into his trap.

Natsume didnt push ryu as far as he would have liked butit gave her enough distance to react to his next attack. Two strikes from the same direction it seemed. The kunai would have to be used to block the blade leaving the lower sheath strike. So this timTe she stepped to the right and kicked off in that direction. He was moving in a straight line so he would have to stop and turn to attack again. It would be a close call but she lobbed her kunai in the air. And weaved several handsigns. Ryus nearest strike grazed her in the side but it wasnt bad at all. She caught her kunai and stepped in for a strike of her own. It was her turn to go on the offensive. Her strike was aimed at his nearest shoulder but was easily blockable by either of his weapons.

Shiro Nagakura

Exit

Shiro stood there waiting for further instruction. Both his hands went into his pockets as his eyes returned to boredom. His stature slouched a little until Emiya Sensei made a remark towards his partners wise comment. To that remark, Shiro couldn't help but smile.

Then it was time to get going. Where they were headed, Shiro didn't know, but wherever it was, it was sure to be raining. Emiya Sensei blasted off into a slow sprint, then followed through into the trees. He wasn't moving all that fast, so it was not too difficult to keep up. Since Shiro had enough training during the war times of Amegakure, his physical was at tip-top shape.

Emiya continued by instructing his students, meaning Shiro and .....ummmm.......forgot her name.......'the crazy girl teammate lady', to introduce themselves along with their strengths and weaknesses. "You want me to tell her my weakness?" Shiro thought to himself. Wouldn't that jeopardize his chances of becoming a great ninja in the long run. I mean, if she were to tell anybody, that info would eventually spread and then all of his enemies would know. Then again, this was an instruction given by his Sensei, so he had no other choice but to tell her.

"I'm Shiro Nagakura. I was born in Konoha back in 462. I left because................well it doesn't matter why, but anyhow, I got here when I was ten? Yeah, ten I think. I don't remember much. Ummm.......I've been struggling here in Amegakure since I got here. Didn't have much money to buy food and stuff so I had to do things I'm not proud of to get it. But all that's in the past. You know my goal, so I won't repeat it and bore you with why I'm doing it. I use these (he pulled out his two trench knives) to fight. I borrowed them from a fellow friend of mine. In the academy I was told to have good chakra control. I use chakra flow to maneuver my chakra into the blades. I've been able to infuse my wind-natured chakra on them, but it hasn't been all that effective yet. I'm having a hard time keeping it up because it differs from regular chakra. But once I'm able to keep it up for long durations, I'll be able to cut through anything. Other than that I don't think I have any other weaknesses" Shiro finished.

He turned towards his teammate, whose name he could not recall, and waited for her to speak. Shiro knew he had more weaknesses, but didn't want to tell them. He didn't think it would really benefit him in the long run.

Tahekiko Muto (Jun)

Jun listened to the story, though his eyes were elsewhere, the mention of Blackwatch interested the boy. "So this must be why is dressed differently to the Anbu, this guy can't be one, they wear masks, conceal there faces, he only conceals his mouth. Surprised at his sensei's surname being the nickname he was given, he found it a little hard to believe, but amused at the same time. "Blackwatch" he whispered to himself, making sure he remembered the name.

Jun was ready and set for the training fields, it was something physical, something he liked. Knowing a bit more about his team in combat would make things easier for him to understand. When about to leave the shack, he would hear a voice that belonged to the stranger. It spoke of the cowardly prefect that had been long lost in the war, but not lost to this man who shouted his name so aggressively. The voice made Tahekiko tense, the boy was already pumped after basic strength training to harden his muscles, so he was already cautious. The footsteps would be heard, and the sound of kunai being took out. [I]"He is coming towards us? Satoshi?"
Tahekiko quickly got his fist ready, when the stranger got close, Jun would jump his knee aimed at the jaw of this stranger, it would be quick and accurate as he didn't feel like missing today.

"Aww you have a daughter?, i had heard the some gossip about it but didnt know if it was true, besides i didn't think you were the type to settle down and have kids"
Mia smirked at her sensei lightly, showing that she was just messing with him a little bit. Mia watched as her sensei looked around for a bit a if looking for somebody she figured it was the new kid in the squad that he was looking for.

when he turned back to look at her and mention a something to do with missions she went back to her slightly serious state. "Of course, im prepared and ready to fight if need be." she smiled slightly she loved going on missions it was after all what she had trained for.

A few minutes later she turned around to see her new team member walking towards them. Mia and her ninkun could smell his nervousness and would normally use that to their advantage in battle, but this was their future team member.

"Mist, Kiba, be nice..." she whispers to them as they both go to investigate the new kid. They keep their distance for a few minutes taking in his scent before walking close enough to touch, one Ninkun on either side of him. If the boy tried to touch them they would growl lightly in warning.

waving her hand at the newcomer she says "Hi there Shikaroku Nara, i'm Mia Inuzuka and those are my two ninkun the black one is Kiba, the white one is called Mist. just uh don't touch them as they don't trust you yet."

Kensuke Nimatsu
Team 7

Nodding to himself as the last genin remained absent he made a decision. She was 10 minutes late, and was rejected from his team. Coming too late at their first meeting? That was really not the best way to begin your shinobi carreer. He cleared his throat to grab the attention of the other two recruits. "Alright. Let's begin the day. Your third teammate is not showing up so she's back to the academy I guess."

He walked over to a place in the wet grassy field where there were some fallen logs, and after checking wether it was wet or not he sat down on it, inviting the genin to do the same. "Before we begin, I suggest you introduce yourselves. I'll start. My name is Kensuke Nimatsu, and I am a jounin of Konohagakure. I am 20 years old and come from the Village of Talons to the West. I like drawing and watching all kinds of movies. I am pretty good at kenjutsu, and pretty average at the rest." He explained, and then gestured the genin into beginning themselves.

Kiyomi Sato-Hon
Konohagakure Jounin-sensei.
Team 2

Waiting for her students, Kiyomi heard the soft grunting sound of Samehada. Not looking around, the young girl simply took out a kunai. It looked like she was playing with the tool. Simply making it spin around her right index finger as she whistled. It would give Leo the false image that she hadn't notice his presence yet. It was however the opposite. With a sudden turn, she twisted her body to throw the kunai in Leo's direction. The aim would be off, but it was a clear sign.

''You need to be better than that to sneak on me. Leo-kun.'' Kiyomi said in an amused tone as she waited for her student to show up. She could always throw something else in his direction. Waiting, she wondered where her other students were.

Mika Hayashi
Kirigakure Jounin-sensei.
Team 14

Silently the jounin listened to their responses. There was no clear sign of what Mika thought of their answers or how she would react. All that was to be seen was the cold and stern gaze from her eyes and the expression on her face. Then the lips of the woman slowly formed as she opened her mouth, to respond. ''Your answers are all.....

average.''

Just like that. Mika said nothing about what she thought or what her opinion was. Just that she deemed their answers average. ''I want you all to follow me. We're going on our first mission. I will explain the basic and ground rules simple and only this one time.'' The woman paused for a moment. ''Everybody listens to me. When I dispatch an order, no arguments or wavering. Everybody that messes up, does that for the whole mission and team. I will thus then react on punishing all of you. You're all shinobi of the Mist. I suspect you will behave as proper shinobi and won't let a mission fall in failure without die trying.'' The woman raised her eyebrows slowly. Her gaze had been focused on Chou. Clearly there was something that Mika didn't like about the girl. Her gaze went to Rai. ''Also means that you won't obstruct each other. You will work together. Those who aren't capable of that will be severely disciplined. Like it or not. I don't care for such feelings or opinions. That of the Mist and Mizukage are of bigger importance.''

With that said, her gaze went to Haruhi. The cold eyes seemed to pierce into the green colored eyes of Haruhi. ''Our first mission to retrieve a scroll that has been taken by some bandits, after they managed to raid a simple trade ship. The scroll isn't that of big importance as it is about a simple water technique. However, its a mission where we need to take out the bandits. A mission that is your test. The hide-out is around twelve kilometers from the south of Kirigakure. Anybody has a question, heavy mental problem or urge to say something before we go? Then I know who is at least not capable of having a brain...''
