Mandy watched the tall man dressed like the Devil come a courting as a Cajun Girl she dated would have described him and when looked her place over like it was contagious or potentially so she had the tiny hairs down her spine stand up.

She so wanted to mockingly imitate his tone so dripping with disdain but she didn't have the interest or desire so she just answered him in a bored and annoyed tone as she turn down the music making sure he knew he was interrupting her.

The morning began with yet another of Mandy's weird collection of songs, Tony thought as he made his way inside the small coffee shop; plain expression, half lidded eyes due to lack of sleep, nothing special really. However, the male halted on track the moment his eyes snapchatted this tall strange with the appearance that told another story of wealthiness and fortune, one that seemed to talk with the owner.

He fixated his prescription glasses with the clear lenses on the bridge of her nose and leaned against the counter, maintaing silence for the moment and enjoying the current talk show because c'mon, it's unmannered to interrupt a conversation.

Mandy used Tony's entrance to pour him a cup of coffee which even though made from so pedestrian a blend as Chock Full of Nutz was still quite drinkable. The cup she presented Twilight Sparkle and offered him her flavored creams and oddly three types of sugar

The man stared sternly at the women for a moment, "I beleive, you have a tenant here By the name of Amelia Hawthorne, She goes by Amy, She has not returned my calls, and something rather urgent has come up, I am her father, and i understand she s being a spoiled brat, and won't want to see me, so if you could give her this," the man said in a harsh tone, it was clear that there was no love for his daughter in his voice. He slid a envelope across the counter, "I'll be on my way. Good day Madam," he turned and walked out and back into the limo, as the driver opened the door for him, he also gave the man a handful of sanitizer. The car pulled away.

Mandy sighs and sweeps the envelope off the counter doing her patented magician tricks with such things.

She knew that Amy had rich parents, hell she had upper middle-class godfearing parents herself and they disapproved of her since they became successful.

The male raised a brow questionably at Mandy, there was a slight of hesitation or indecisiveness in the way he exchanged stares from her to the gay looking cup, debating whether or not consider it as a mock. So naturally after couple seconds, Tony dropped the sugar and stirred the coffee before taking a sip, eyes still on her.


Couple moment of silence and he shattered it with that raspy voice, add the toothy grin into the calculation."No thanks, I'm good with this coffee and you know? If you somehow happen to find a 'woman tears' mug, I'd defintely buy it, no question."

Amy trudged in the shop, she was wearing her pajama's still, most people wouldn't know she owned any other clothes. Oh and i found this resourceful thing at a thrift store yesterday, An Industrial paper shredder, That way i won't have to light any more fires in my room." she smiled haphazardly as she yawned once more

Mandy pours Amy a Coffee then produces the envelope in a smooth act of prestidigitation

"Your Pops dropped by saying how impressed he was by the caliber of your choice of domiciles and as a reward left this"

Says Mandy with a knowing look having a similar affliction of parental approval

She smiles and takes an abnormal large sip of coffee, before taking the envelope, "Oh Mandy why must we be cursed with misunderstood perfection?" She asked with a smile as she pulled the hair out of her face, she opened the envelope to a large sum of cash, she took it out and placed it on the counter, 600 in total, "Buy everyone's coffee for the day with this, Since it just me." She laughed and nodded before finish her coffee, "I guess I might as well have another cup," she then turned and saw Tony, she had a surprised look on her face, "oh when did you get here?" She asked puzzled by what she considered a sudden arrival.

Mandy looks at the mone regarding it for a moment as she weighs her options then she passes her hand over the stack causing it to vanish. Many who saw this trick never figured out they were watching a street thief at practice though Mandy herself had never stolen a dime but kept the skill up as a way of remembering her trip to Morroco and a friend there.

"Six Hundred is more than this place makes in a week, well some weeks" says Mandy with a chuckle

"Guess I can use the excess to buy Thanksgiving dinner for the Old Ones and maybe the Younger tenants.

Lily says her kids can't make it to pick her up and well Elmer and Walter are alone in this world so who's going to feed them?" she says while also determining to go some of it back in case Amy hits hard times

The thought jolted, rolled, danced and twerked inside Tony's mind as he watched with jaw-hanging-low the 600 vanish out of the sight with such speed that it made him think that perhaps, maybe, français pensez que? His attention snapped at Amy's voice and abruptly choked whilst gulping the rest of the coffee. Wait, is she talking to him? Like- no video game or catfish prank online chat?

Glaring between Amy and Mandy, Tony managed to answer in stuttered manner as if he had fluency disorder. "Oh.. Y-yeah woohoo, I'm here." He flashed a grin and scratched the back of his head, awkwardly so. "Drinking..this yummy coffee and enjoying this shape of this--um...uh amazing twilight sparkle mug!"

Mandy Laughs at Tony's imagination till she thinks that who knows maybe she did like it here once long ago

"I got the place in the Life and Death lottery when My grandparents died in a plane crash.

I tried to sell it but no one's buying at the moment and the Old Ones have cradle to grave leases and unless you can get them to move this place has to stay a boarding house. If I could sell it I'd be in Patagonia climbing mountains or in Italy studying sculpture."

Everything was true except the part about the plane crash but it sounded better than killed by a hit an run driver trying to cross the road

Amy blatantly ignores, Tony's question, she looked at her phone noticing the time, "oh wow, I already missed my first nap of the day, now my schedules all messed up," she scanned the coffee shop for a moment before taking a drink from her newest cup of coffee, " What's the slice selection today?" She asked as she laid her head down, as if to sleep right there. She then looked at tony and laughed, "I'm Amy, and I'll spare you the boring details of my life, I'm here because." She paused , she couldn't really remember why, "the rents cheap, and I don't have to walk far to get pie and coffee. And Cuz it's a great writing environment. I guess ?" She puzzled herself , but didn't think to hard, she didn't much care for that activity anyways.

"We have Mincemeat, Cherry, and Apple Pear, if they get the freezer working I'll be serving ice cream with the pie slices...I like Ice cream." Says, Mandy, as she slices a piece of the apple pear and slides it before Amy.

"That's the one your previous tastes say you'll like the best"

She smiled at Mandy for a moment, before placing $3.25 on the counter and pushing it towards her, "Thanks, You always make the best pies, so I'm sure i would have liked any of them." She took a biig bite, and was amazed yet again by the baking prowess of Mandy, "You always have such lofty dreams, Patagonia, of all the places." She laughed again, a different site then usual, Amy having a personality other then drinking coffee and sleeping, was not a usual occurence.

Mandy yawned Amy making her sleepy.

"Patagonia isn't a lofty goal, now a trip to London or Paris that would be a lofty goal but even they are kind of scummy outside of the touristy areas.

Now I really liked sailing into Edinburgh Tristan da Cunha, that was lofty"

Mandy thought back to when she crewed as cook on a sailboat out of Durban when she was 19 and how if she'd have wanted to she could have stayed and had her pick of the local men or at least that was the hook she had been offered

The answers, in a way or another, relieved Tony. Of course, it gave him the impression that this coffee shop; whether a shitty cheap pit or not, is not actually reflective to its appearance reputation. And what's beneath the book's cover existed kind people with dreams, ambitions; a distant sand castle to grasp. For the first time, tension melted like snowflakes on grass and the nerd felt relaxed? maybe. Comfortable? guess so.


His eyes analytically stared at Mandy. Before, she was that crazy girl with the horrible taste of music, utterly inside the weird-zone, and my-- let's not forget those mugs. But now? In his eyes, she became the girl who simply act effortlessly herself, a human being with dreams and shoulder-burdened responsibilities, ones she never asked for but is well taking care of. Going to Amy, his false studies assumed she was a shallow person that writes smut.


Then comes that tall rich man with an envlope and the table flipped upside down. It turned out that she descended from a wealthy family and doesn't give two shits about money. You know how hard to find people like that? right, in your dreams. A sigh of guilt fled his lips as he adjusted his glasses once more, out of habit and distraction too, he felt sorry for misjudging people so quickly, fucking fool, fucking retarded.

Her raven hair and it's cut wasn't the hipster tinted with extensions but natural, she was makeup free even to her nails which were natural and trimmed. She wasn't what her setting suggested and everything anyone thought about her their own fantasies. Even her smile was a product of natural selection and when her cat Saliva leapt into her lap Mandy showed she could be an empathic creature as she pampered the ugly animal

Amy laughed a bit before turning to Tony, "A Family is a Family I guess, You just got lucky enough to know both of us!" She said as she finished another cup of coffee before scrolling on her phone a bit, " I might impulse buy a guinie Pig, Don't you think that's a good idea, Mandy?" She shows a picture of a fat little guinie pig
