*The ancient world crumbled beneath war and famine. As the pure blood races dwindled, those of mixed blood found opportunity, salvation and strength in their numbers and moved east past the tribal homes of their ancestors to find the place of prophecy, Ank’hazat Thul. Here, it was whispered, they would find new glory and awareness. Most chose to overlook the darker tones of the prophecy. Those words that offered such hope spoke of utter destruction as well, calling for the mixed races to find the Sentinels less utter doom fall upon the land and all its inhabitants. For only the Sentinels would complete the races and bring the light of illumination back into the blood of all. Only the Sentinels carried the ability to shift shape from that of human to dragon. Only the Sentinels were Dragon Born, and only they held the key to keeping a fragile world from falling into desolation.*
Any race is welcome in this story. Human, dwarf, elf, ogre, halfling or a race that you make up, but please keep in mind that most of the people traveling to the Ank’hazat Thul would be of mixed blood, though I see no reason why some pure bloods might not be traveling as well. Magic use is welcome, as are deity given powers, but keep in mind that powers and abilities should not be too OP. The Dragon Born are also a race that one may choose to play though I will list some general guidelines in character creation.
Dragon Born have these physical attributes (but are not limited to these only):
Their eyes in human form (human representing any of the pureblood or mixed blood races for the sake of simplicity here) match the scales of their dragon forms. Their stature in human form also matches that of their dragon form stature (proportionately) and dragons of some color tend to be larger than dragons of other colors. For instance a Black dragon might be 60 or 70 feet long while a Blue might only be 40 or 50 feet long. In human form a black might be 6 to 7 feet tall, while the blue might be 4 to 5 feet tall. These are examples only and not a strict rule of length or height.
Dragon Born while in dragon form have the ability to see into the souls of those they look upon, making them effective magistrates. While in human form they take on any inherent abilities of the human race they were born into as well as the ability to heal or cause war frenzy.
I hope that this story ark seems interesting to some. I am happy to flesh out some history for any given race, as well as a religious system or systems, but would be happiest to collaborate on these things. I look forward to rp’ing with some of you!
