@Cyclone I changed the spelling of 'EXPUNGED' in the text, but I stupidly named the file 'EXPUNGED'. Now all they have to do is search 'EXPUNGED' and we are undone. We must expunge all mention of 'EXPUNGED' from the internet.

I decided to update this chunk of the hain timeline, now that we actually have a timeline reference point. Please feel free to help me out with specific orderings. Currently everything is marked 'c.' for circa, seeing as the order matters more than the timespan.

If people would like to help my sanity while this is being added to, please do add a circa year PR on your posts. It's not compulsory but I would be most appreciative.

Also keep in mind that with the new turn system, probably less is going to be crammed into a few years at a time.

The reason Kyre's death is so early in the piece is basically due to Conata setting out soon after the realta attack and meeting Aeramen. Aeramen mentions that Kyre has been 'quiet' at the time, which was meant to hint that the god had died by that point. Why it took a few years for the current hullabaloo to come around can be put down to divine timescaling.

c. 3 PR: 'The Tragedy of the Scaled Goddess,' a ubiquitous oral hain story is spread following Keriss' tryst with a hain in a village near the Venomweald, resulting in the village's destruction. Versions of the story diverge wildly as to its final act.

It's years post realta invasion, just like the turn post. Galbar has roughly Earth-like year lengths for simplicity.

@Muttonhawk Helvana saving the village should be placed a little while after the battle of Xerxes then. She was born before the battle, but after Vestec proposed it with Logos and only two months at most passed since then. I'm thinking about writing a small post of her finding the remains of the city in fact.

And I was thinking. I wanted to do a colab with Conata, but I didn't factor in them being two years apart from each other.

Ehh, I have a vague idea of what to do next, but just haven't really had the motivation to develop it further.

And now comes new updates in TF2 and Dota 2, so that hasn't helped either.

The ogre expansion into the Hain confederation was happening during and before the Realta attack. Not that it matters too much; the Realta invasion didn't impact the ogres much, it's just that whenever the ogres inevitably interact with nearby civilizations a few years down the line, those civilizations will have recovered somewhat from the Realta and the ogres will have had time to consolidate their holdings and begin looking for more.

That timestamp that you have for the beginning of the ogres' southwards expansion is probably closer to when Dargok's expedition tried to cross the Ironhearts and fought the battle against the organized urtelem and the sculptor.

I had envisioned Kyre's death having happened right around there, but it's odd for there to be such a large gap between that and him visiting the Celestial Citadel. Even by divine standards four years is a long time to do nothing, and I had imagined all the events concerning Xos on Galbar would happen within half a year. That'd be starting with him killing Kyre and ending with the inevitable confrontation between him and the trifecta that's plotting against him.

Edit: Oh, and Aihtiraq appears before all of this because he shows up in Shaqmar's story which entirely predates the Realta invasion. Though you did just say "rumors of Aihtiraq spread", so admittedly there's some leeway between the time of his actual appearance and his existence being common known among the Hain.

Placing Osveril's goings-about on this timeline might need some guesswork. In terms of major world events, the best points of reference I have are the Sculptors starting to gain knowledge of alchemy, which follows Teknall and Toun's visit to Jvan and presumably precedes his birth, and the Pronobii resurrection, which follows it by a moderate(?) spell (Termite doubtless knows better than me where it would go). Overall, though, I'd say the birth wouldn't have happened later than 5 PR, if only because it was still the last turn. This should currently put Osveril in late 5 to early 6 PR at most.

In short, Osveril and time still have a tense relationship. Do correct any blunders I may have made there.

Conata is possibly going to go through a short timeskip for a few years to catch up with the turn, so we may have the opportunity for a collab at some point. Especially if Helvana is still heading to Alefpria.

Tell you what. How about after your next Dota game, you tab out and write one paragraph. That ought to haunt you into it!

Yeah, some points on this timeline are on more of an archaeological basis. That meaning that points appear when there is evidence in the culture or artefacts of the hain. Aihtiraq was probably not seen as such a big deal until enough hain corroborated stories about him, hence his timepoint.

Anyway, I've shifted a few points around for everyone, so how's this?:
