The Mind's Mirror of Dreamplay.

"They say we only use a fraction of our brain's true potential.
Now that's when we're awake. When we're asleep, we can do almost anything."

"Dreams feel real while we're in them.
It's only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange."

Two people, one dream.
Dark. Mysterious. Sensual.

When Louis Chapel, a graduate student in psychology at the local university, began to dream about a beautiful and exotic woman, every night they walk along a damp street, empty beach or desert river until the light of morning pulled him back to reality. He wanted to dismiss it as being induced by lack of sleep . . . or perhaps lack of sex. But his instincts told him it was something different, something far more real or perhaps even dangerous.

"Who are you?"

"No, who are you?"

"I don't know, I don't remember..."

"Same."

The man couldn't believe he started smitten with a figment of his imagination. To add to his concerns, the dreams always come with a persistent warning: the closer one of them tried to reveal their identity, the more delirious the dream becomes until their conscious turns it into a nightmare as an unlikely foe determined to keep them apart. Frustration and fear of possible mental illness, he begins searching for answers about shared dreams, and the expanse of infinite raw subconscious.

"Dreamplay limbo? that's impossible."

"Let me ask you a question, you, you never really remember the beginning of a dream do you?
You always wind up right in the middle of what's going on."

"I guess."

"So how did we end up here?"

"We just came from the..."

"Think about it, how did we end up in Eiffel tower."

"Oh God. We are dreaming, aren't we?"

"Congratulations, you're have the potential of lucid dreamer. Stay calm or else, your awareness will erase that piece away."

What is after confusion? Questions. What is after questions? Answers. What is next? Realization. What is― the urge to explore the dreamworld with total clarity, taking control over the inner creativity.

After surpassing the first stage of awareness, both discovered that the dreamer's nature can always plant an idea from an inspiration and shape it, forming a new world over the dream characters, narrative, and environment. Due to the lack of limitations, they can form a dimension that allows to manifest their deepest desires in the shared dreams.

Cities, oceans, deserts.
fly over mountains, base jumping, shapeshifting.
Time traveling, dinosaur spotting, ninja fighting.
Famous. Rich. Naked.
A paradise.

And that's when the nightmare knocks the door...

Less working, more sleeping.
less social, more sleeping.
More building. More dreams.

Day by another, he lived only to dream, only to see how deep he could travel within his mind. Eventually, he began to build from his memories, making the distinction between reality and dream more difficult to distinguish. Over time, he became satisfied to accept it as his reality while growing feelings for the female in his dreams. He locked away a secret, deep inside himself, something he once knew to be true... but chose to forget. Worst case scenario, in order to get wake up, he had to kill himself in the dream.

What is real and what is fake?
Is his dream partner quite real or just a character inside his mind?
Will the limbo effects his mental state?
Will he be able to wake up or end up trapped?

And more importantly.
Will the two meet in real life?
Will they ever find each other?
Is there a way out...

Who knows, maybe he will end up killing himself in real world thinking it's just a dream. Whoops, c:

@wistfulwords This is a brief look of the story. I enjoy risks so you never know what will pop up, you in?
