▲ God Modding While I'm a huge fan of having powerful characters and really being creative with abilities and whatnot, please don't make your character super overly strong. Auto-hitting also falls under these guidelines; please never assume the outcome of your attacks when interacting with other PCS.
▲ Character Please, please, please be creative with your characters~! For this RP, I'm giving people free reign to a broad spectrum of possible characters. This is a supernatural, realistic themed roleplay so most characters must be within the supernatural realm. Please make sure that your characters are realistic, interesting and give them flaws. I also want to see well thought out characters whether you're playing a Witch, Vampire, Werewolf, Hunter or whatever. I will allow you to play up to two characters, as well.
▲ Character Sheets I definitely want to see a good amount of effort and thought in your characters. Please don't half-ass your character sheets and pull a character out of your ass. Pictures must be realistic but please, make sure your image or gif is realistic and not anime or an illustration of some sort. If you need help with finding a picture, please let me know and I will try my best to help you. Please be sure to [@mention] me and/or @HushedWhispers whenever you have completed your character.
▲ Posting I want this to be a casual - high casual roleplay, so that means no one-liners. Be considerate and read everyone else's posts before going to post your own, even if they're not interacting with your character! I expect a few paragraphs, but please make the content of your posts to be descriptive of your actions and thoughts of your character.!
▲ Commitment I definitely wish to see active players in this roleplay and if you're unable to post or be active, please inform us! If you go a week without posting or mentioning that you're to be inactive, I will either post as your character or just continue without you. With that, I hope that everyone makes characters that they enjoy playing and that the story I create will keep everyone interested enough to roleplay~! THUS, I'm not opposed to any feedback or suggestions that you guys give me!
▲ 18+ Is this really a supernatural roleplay if there's no 18+ content? Like fo real? I'm not opposed to excessive swearing if that's how your character is, nor am I opposed to nudity. But I am opposed to ERP and descriptive sexual encounters. If you wish to do that with another PC, then just take it to the PMs or something. I don't want to limit your characters just for the sake of the rating of the RP, but there are lines that shouldn't be crossed.
▲ Drama I strongly encourage in-character drama, but don't be sensitive and take it to OOC drama, nor do I want to see any form of OOC drama. If you wish to give someone a piece of your mind, simply do it in the PMs and don't involve other people of the roleplay.
▲ Respect Please respect everyone apart of the roleplay, don't be rude!
▲ Have fun Yeah, have fun. I'm not opposed to you dropping out if you find the roleplay to not be enjoyable, the last thing I wanna do is force someone to participate in something they don't enjoy!
The year in which it all began. The witch hunters came to town to rid of the growing witch community with dedication and fearlessness. Amidst the dark rituals and petrifying spells, the witch hunters stopped at nothing and fought mercilessly to give proper consequences to the unwanted, demonic force. A body of individuals practicing devilish, black magic casted friends and family against each other, tainting the air and setting the atmosphere of Salem, Massachusetts. What was thought to be an end of this supernatural advancement in history, was only the beginning of a better understanding of a realm of beings that have only been rumored to be true. As time went on, the witch trials that began soon became scarce and it was announced finished just to bring peace to the people of Salem, but any smart person would feel the cold, dark air that permanently contaminated such a beautiful place.
The existence of supernatural beings were kept secret, but Salem, Massachusetts housed them all. It would be unrealistic to believe that each rabid werewolf or demonic witch kept their wicked race a secret; stories would often reach out to the people when sudden deaths and cold-blooded events would stir up — but there was always a cover-up, an alibi, a false story. It wasn’t just the supernaturals that worked to keep themselves secret, but the community itself was to be protected from the knowledge of their existence to save for an empty, deserted town to only be filled with a potential, growing force. Witch hunters became scarce since the powers of the supernatural realm only grew with time, evolving fast to fully reach their true potential. It took a skilled individual to really take down a creature of the night. In these days, it is said that it takes one to kill one.
For several decades, they worked hard to keep their kin in check, excusing the occasional instances in which a werewolf would run rabid, a vampire would feast, or a witch would use an innocent for a sacrifice. It was a peculiar lifestyle, working to be a secret and not letting one’s supernatural abilities get the best of them. Although, there were feuds between the community. Perhaps it was for sport to save them from boredom, especially with a strong desire to properly exercise the skills of such powerful bloodlines. The voodoo witches rivaled the witch covens, the werewolf packs rivaled the vampire covens, and the witch hunters were now out to extinguish them all.
Today, casting aside all rivalries, all revered individuals in the community, all supernatural battles, and all differences between each vile race, a coming shift was felt among each person within the community. The supernaturals were becoming too comfortable, too prideful, and it was nearing a time in which a proper, threatening force were to come to eliminate them all. The mystery remains unsolved and perhaps it was the paranoia-induced fears among foretellers and those containing precognitions of a coming armageddon that ceased all civil wars and petty battles. A silence has stirred up and many lose sleep during the night(or day).
Bad omens and warning signs are experienced by everyone within the community. Whether it be strange symbolic writings produced in the strangest of places, or the death of a supernatural by unknown causes, or rabid supernaturals that roam endlessly trying to kill. Mind control, unknown writings, peculiar symbols, repetitive visions of the beginning of an end — all of these factors introduced a fear for a cataclysmic era within the supernatural realm. But what is the solution? Should this be a matter to be feared? Is this simply a scare? The signs are apparent and the fear to be had was appropriate, even for the strongest supreme witch, pack leader, or coven leader within the community.
Where does the average hunter stand in such a situation in which they are being aided, yet still threatened? To kill just one supernatural calls for a destructive battle, so to kill them all in an act of genocide would cause terror a great length outside of the community. Should the safety of the people be one to question? Is this force supporting the cause of eliminating supernaturals or is it a mere war of sport and games from a powerful figure exercising his abilities?
It is now that a rising force is being welcomed, instituting a diversity of races, packs, and covens, to build some sort of agreement to educate and protect one another from what is to come. Consisting of several strong assets, this force seeks to build a safe haven and to also establish a long awaited, and necessary, band of individuals to ensure peace within the community. Whatever you may call it, only those with open minds choose to participate, many of which cannot cast aside their differences, choosing to ignore the concept, or even retaliate this treaty. The choice is yours. Will you band together as a community and defend against the intimidating force to come, or will you keep to your foul pack or iniquitous coven? Will you protect your loved ones, or stick to yourself? The fate of your life is in your hands, as it always has been, in Salem, Massachusetts.
► Nobody is Useless, in Salem, Massachusetts
Whether you’re used to fulfill a ravenous vampire’s thirst, a starved werewolf’s hunger, or an immoral witch’s ritual, your purpose in the hell known as Salem, Massachusetts will always be of great use.
V A M P I R E S
Vampires tend to fit two categories. The first is to be an elder; an elder has grown more powerful over time, is typically wise and very knowledgeable, and has survived the antics of hunters. The second is to be a pawn; a convert of an older vampire who is wild, unfamiliar with his/her new powers, and a prime target for hunters for their lack of skill. Few of them actually survive to age and calm down; those that do can be considered lucky.
• They are immortal.
• No, they are not all pale. In fact, they all have different back stories and ethnicity. They do not sparkle in the sun light and their eyes are not golden. They appear to be rather normal. They do not transform into bats.
• They are gifted with the ability to compel, which is under the category of mental manipulation. It allows the user to render others unconscious with sufficient mental force, slightly increase/decrease mental capacity, influence mood, and lightly inflect their voices with a compelling edge. Effectiveness of this ability depends on the willpower of the person they attempt it on. it is greatly reduced in power against other supernatural entities or witches.
• They have the usual bonuses for supernatural strength, speed and agility, and an accelerated healing rate.
•. They live naturally forever. They can be killed by a stake to the heart or by decapitation; though not feeding for an extended period of time greatly weakens them. They are also weakened by vervain, and large quantities of the substance can be fatal.
• They sustain themselves off of blood, whether it be human or animal. Most opt for human blood because it is richer and sweeter, especially if drunk from a witch, but there are some who choose not to partake in harming a human. The coven even has humans called blood slaves or pets that they drink off, though they tend to get possessive of their own. Recently feeding on rich blood offers a slight boost to a vampire’s power and awareness. Not feeding weakens them. After two weeks,, they decline human strength. After three weeks, they are severely weakened and become animalistic. On the third week, they decay on the spot in a gruesome display and die.
• Sunlight for shorter periods of time causes a tan and a severe skin irritation. Staring into the sun may blind a vampire. Being exposed for too long (two hours on a very warm day) will make their skin red and extremely hot. After five hours on the same day, they begin to burn to death over the course of one more hour. The local vampires have rings that were gifted to them by witches centuries ago that make sunlight much less damaging, and simply gives vampires a tan and slight skin irritation after several hours with no further damage.
• They do not procreate. The only way to become a vampire is to have ingested and contain two feeding sessions of vampire blood at least twenty-four hours before death. Ingesting vampire blood makes an individual lusty for more blood and become aggressive, almost feral in nature. It may also cause hallucinations after the second feeding. It is poisonous to werewolves.
W E R E W O L V E S
Werewolves typically live to be 100-150 years old, and generally live normal lives with society. They typically live in packs, though Salem has a rather loose pack, and one that is not territorial enough to remove outside werewolves that come into town.
• They are not all tanned or dark. They are also not huge (No, we are not in Twilight). They are regular sized wolves, all with the same eye color as in their human form with a more intense stare and brighter glow. The alpha of a pack is often notably bigger than the other wolves, but not overbearingly so. They can either partially morph (after much practice) or completely morph in seconds, though their clothes are not saved unless removed beforehand.
• They have a pack mentality, more so than humans or a witch’s coven. After spending enough time together (2-3 years) they develop a sort of neural connectivity that allows them to speak to each other up to several miles.
• They are gifted with accelerated healing, supernatural strength and speed/ agility. When they are highly emotional or, put simply, completely pissed off, they are able to ignore pain up to but not including fatal wounds from their main weaknesses. Their canines are just as sharp as a vampire's bite and may cause hallucinations if someone survives a neck bite. Their strength, speed and healing applies to their human forms.
• They can breathe underwater indefinitely (though they are quite slow when in werewolf form this way), and are almost heat-neutral when transformed. The same effects apply to a more limited extent in human form. They are vulnerable to sharp reflections and highly sharp noises.
• Werewolves not immortal and can be killed by silver (must be a solid mass embedded in skin, though ingesting it in powdery form can severely damage their insides), ingestion of wolfs-bane, and decapitation. Other injuries may weaken them, but cannot kill them. Decades of healing allows them to regenerate lost body parts.
• Save for things that may kill them, werewolves are slightly resistant to magic, more so than other supernatural beings. A witch’s curse does not quite hit them at full effectiveness, for example, though it still cannot be ignored.
• Werewolves may reproduce. Children have a random chance to be human or werewolf. If they are werewolf, there is a 60-85% chance of death at childbirth for a human mother, and the same chance for a werewolf child. For a werewolf mother, it is much harder to conceive children; the child is more likely to become a werewolf, and the mother is likely to live past birthing the child.
• On every full moon, every werewolf is forcibly transformed. There is no exception to this rule. It is a painful process, especially for younger wolves. The process makes them feral, rampaging beasts that have an inclination towards tearing apart whatever life they come across. Conversely, it grants a small boosts their strength, speed, stealth and regeneration slightly. They may wear special necklaces granted to them by witches upon the full moon that allows them to mostly control themselves at a slight cost to their boosts that makes them slightly stronger than normal. Any other day, they may transform whenever they like, though they may feel cramped if they have not transformed after approximately one week.
W I T C H E S
Witches are not satanic entities that wish to curse all of humanity and drag mankind to hell. Some, yes, have ulterior dark motives; however, they are watched by their sisters in their covens and as such don't have many opportunities to try and take over the world. The are not gnarly old ladies; most in fact look young beyond their years. A 40 year old witch can pass off as 20 by her natural looks and a potion here and there, and an old witch has rather few wrinkles. They are, at least by fellow witches and other supernaturals, considered preserving entities of nature. This is caused in no small part by the fact they've helped vampires and werewoves over the years, though that was also partially inspired by a desire not to be eaten for their rich blood. Over time, many different branches of magic developed, ranging from wicca magic, shamanistic magic, voodoo magic, necromancy etc.
• Magical affinity is inherited, though how much affinity is purely random. Some are quite strong, while others are only capable of minor manipulations. They often drift towards specialties that their affinity grants easier access to.
• Witches typically fall into the following branches. They can dabble in multiple areas, but the average witch specializes in one. Normal ones tend to specialize in natural manipulation, elemental magic, short-term enchantment, scrying, and in rare cases, Dark Magic that saps upon the user's soul and can be used to potent ends. Voodoo witches may work with illuison, charms, manipulating the properties of items such as dolls and figurines, alchemy, curses, poisons and sophisticated forms of Dark Magic that include intricate rituals (though rituals do not necessarily have to be dark). Normal witches have more spontaneous spells and effects, while voodoo witches often require preparation, considerable knowledge to get the spells right, and a variety of ingredients. Voodoo magic, however, may survive much longer than standard witch magic.
• Dark Magic is considered taboo. Hunters, vampires, werewolves, and fellow witches band together to destroy witches of this type, as it often includes sacrifices and the dark practices associated with witches in general. Death spells are the most potent, but the darkest and most frowned upon. Excessive use of dark magic taints a witch and damages the ability to use other branches of magic, as it is a corrupting influence that is about as addicting as heroin to use.
• It’s common for witch covens to rival each other — a great example being the wicca coven versus the voodoo coven.
• Typically, witches have heirlooms passed down over the course of generations.
• Witches are as durable as humans, though they can cast some protective spells. However, they have lifespans that can naturally reach about three centuries.
H U N T E R S
• The Hunters are, simply put, humans who hold some sort of grudge against supernatural creatures. They frequently operate in groups, and many of the most notable of this category were born into their role.
• Those born into their roles typically have heirlooms that have a special power to them; typically, items enchanted by witches that were taken from their former owners as bounty.
• A hunter’s job is extremely dangerous; they are typically underpowered and outmatched. Those who live past the age of thirty in this occupation are considered powerful and almost godly, though they’re simply hardworking men and women who likely encountered luck more than once.
• Hunters are more likely to acquire items that work towards a given supernatural being’s weaknesses.
► OOC
This concept is spawned from a role-play that had trouble getting started by @HushedWhispers! I’d like to thank her for the ideas, some of the content, and for giving me a creative idea to get going! As well as this template for an OOC/Recruitment thread! In addition to this, she will be joining as our official Co-GM!
So, this is your classic supernatural RP taking place in, none other than, Salem, Massachusetts! I tried my best to make this as different as possible, trying to stray away from such mainstream, supernatural concepts! To summarize the plot — it is essentially a mystery to the players. A coming oblivion is foreseen by many and the rumors are spreading very fast that supernaturals are to watch their backs from a realm-ending terror. I don’t want to reveal what it is that will be threatening the realm(partially because I haven’t really come up with something super clever YET), but that just adds the fun to the mystery! ALSO, I’m new to GMing, so it’d be cool if ya’ll would be patient with me. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

I can add more roles for each category, as well.

► Character Sheet:
The only thing that’s really optional within the sheet is the theme song section. If you’re not going to do the theme songs, please delete that area from the sheet. Where you see [.hr], please remove the . for the coding to work.

@HushedWhispers Thanks :) I was thinking of either making a Werewolf or Vampire..possibly a Witch... If I did take two, I am stuck on the second choice between Vampire and Witch lol

No problem.
Sounds good and I am sure whatever you decide to do, it’ll be worth it. :)

{Appearance}
William looks rather young, thanks to his constant smiling and the bright glint in his gray eyes. He stands at a height of 5'10, which is rather average for someone of his age, and weighs averagely, if not only a little more thanks to his activeness and muscles beginning to form instead of fat. He isn't bulky though, instead being somehow athletic and unassuming. This is especially true because of how he hides most of his body under his clothing. He has light brown hair which is rather unruly but he tries his best to make it as presentable as possible, though he may choose to wear a beanie just in case he feels cold.
William doesn't have many scars, but the ones he does have is rather nasty. With previous encounters with much more aggressive werewolves, he has retained three long claw marks on his back and two more on his front, going along diagonally. He has a couple of nicks found on his arms but he makes sure to cover it up with his clothing. He has a small scratch mark near his chin, though barely anyone notices it and he likes it that way. He doesn't like talking about them after all.
In terms of clothing, William wears anything that can cover him up well and still looks comfortable. These, more often than not, include simple shirts and jackets and some cargo pants. While he is a werewolf whose body temp is higher than normal, he still likes to wrap himself up. No one is sure if he actually feels uncomfortable under this since he actually wears them to cover up nasty scars that he doesn't like explaining to anyone, but he does seem to like wearing them even without its practicality. He typically wears a magical necklace during the days leading up to the full moon.
{Habits & Quirks}
He bites his cheeks whenever he gets embarrassed, or maybe even scratches it in other circumstances.
He's rather restless, so one can almost always see him tapping his foot or finger.
He hums to himself whenever he does something. Most often, he would heard humming a lullaby. Where he learnt it from is a mystery, since his mother never sang him one. Or at least, not that one.
He mumbles to himself frequently. It's often done so he can remember something he has to do. Though sometimes he just thinks out loud.
{Hobbies}
He tends to find himself outside of town and just walking around - whether in human or wolf form, but never in partial form as that may lead to some unfortunate circumstances when someone sees him.
He plays the guitar and sings every now and then. Usually, he does it when in the presence of children but he can be found simply doing it by himself in the park.
He collects bugs. If one were to go to his house, one would see his many tanks of bugs littered around it. Because he lives alone, he's able to decorate it however he pleases.
{Likes}
- Bugs (and to some extent, animals) - Having fun - Singing - Playing the guitar - Helping others - Fruit juices - Calmly walking around as a wolf - He likes interacting with people from all walks of life. He's rather interested in how they live their lives as opposed to him. This occasionally leads him to have friends, and as well as suspicious folk.
{Dislikes}
- Thunderstorms - Loud music - Aggressive hunters - Rabid werewolves - Bloodthirsty vampires - Witches who don't abide by the rules - Guns - Loud noises - People who simply hunt for fun and without rhyme or reason aside from them wanting to do it because it is 'fun'. This especially applies to hunters who simply see them as things to be hunted down instead of actual beings.
{Fears}
For no rhyme or reason, he has an intense fear of heights. While he can get over it by simply looking ahead and attempting not to look down, it still makes him move rather slow. This can lead him to some unsavory circumstances.
Understandably, he's scared of silver. From silverware to silver objects, he's deathly afraid of it. While he can tolerate being around it, he gets nervous around them. He often chalks it up to having been cut by silverware before that causes him to stay away from anything silver. He claims it to be a 'childhood fear'.
He's scared of hurting someone when in his wolf form, especially if it's in the full moon. He never wishes anyone to be harmed, aside from those who truly deserve it. While he doesn't lose control too much under the influence of the full moon thanks to the special necklace a witch made for him, but he still fears that something wrong might happen and he accidentally harms someone else.
{Secrets}
William knows what had happened to his parents, and that he was completely at fault for their deaths. He only acts that he doesn't know because he feels guilty about it. If not for his utter stupidity before, his parents wouldn't have been dead right now.
He secretly transforms himself and hides around different parts of the town, often seen within the thick mini-forests just in case there is a human who finds themselves lost. He guides them back to the town and then retreats before a hunter could see him. Though he does seem to do well in acting like a normal wolf.
{Abilities}
Like any other werewolf, he has enhanced strength, speed, regeneration and senses.
He has ridiculously good sense of hearing and smell. Because of his better senses, he is able to eavesdrop rather easily and track someone down. Even William isn't sure why he has better sense of hearing and smell, but he tries to use it to his full advantage.
While his transformations take a while, he does have the ability to shift into partial werewolf form. Though this may be because he transforms much more frequently than most.
Oddly, he knows how to handle a bow well. When he doesn't hunt in his wolf form, he usually takes a bow and arrow - preferring them to their louder versions, guns.
{Limitations}
He's much more affected by sensory overload than other werewolves. While he is training to block sound off, he's having trouble when it comes to his smelling. While he enjoys interacting with people, he hates going to overcrowded areas since he hears more than he wants - and it just makes him lose concentration. Don't get me started on guns...
He's still rather young, and therefore a lot more inexperienced than others. This may lead to him now knowing what to do at times, or even making wrong decisions.
He needs to transform more often than others - already feeling uncomfortable after three days of not transforming. No one is sure why this happens, but it does and he tends to succumb to transforming.
William had always been a friendly person, ever since she was a child. It doesn't matter if you're a stranger or a close friend, his approach doesn't change. With a smile on his face, he greets anyone and is willing to talk to anyone who needs it. He's very emphatic which leads to him always trying to help others - and his sensitive hearing often helps him spot who's having trouble and tries his best to cheer them up. However, he does know when he has pushed it and a person is uncomfortable, at those times, he simply bids farewell, offer them a smile and his help if they ever need it, and then walk away.
He tends to trust people way too easily. Whether it be a hunter or a supernatural, he's more than willing to be their friends even with the repercussions when they figure out who he is. He wants to give everyone a chance because, after all, they're all just living beings in the same world who can communicate so why should they keep on fighting each other? Of course, he does know that he has to keep him being a werewolf a secret, since it would be detrimental to his relationships with others and may even lead to his untimely death. Because he tends of giving second chances, it may prove to be a liability especially when someone is taking advantage of him as he becomes adamant that they're actually trying to do good, even if they're only using him.
For someone of his age and his course of life, he still manages to smile through everything and remain optimistic. Though he's much more of an idealist, he knows that not everything would end up well and knows when he has to fight back. Especially when it comes to those supernaturals who break the rules that have been laid out to them, he will fight them if need be. They don't help when it comes to his goal of having humans and supernaturals co-exist. Many have called him delusional for thinking that such an idea could work, but he doesn't listen to them. He wants to make the world a better place - is it so bad to think about it like that?
{Place of Origin}
Born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts
{Background}
Born to the werewolf Bill Maervsky and the human Tavia Maervsky, William had a relatively well off life. By some miracle or just them being pure lucky, Tavia and William survived the birthing process and Bill considering all of them to be blessed. To have such a successful birth was rare among the species, and Bill was aware of that. He had secretly wished that his son wouldn't be a werewolf, but alas, he was. He felt even more thankful that both of them had survived, since it has been widely known that they were even more harder to conceive than normal human children. Bill and Tavia made their best attempts for William to have a normal childhood, and it paid off. William had grown to be a friendly, cheerful and helpful child.
In terms of his transformations, Bill thought of no reason why he can't practice in it. While they requested a witch friend to make a special necklace for William when the full moon rolls around, Bill had to teach him how to transform properly when not under the influence of the full moon. The Maervsky household had a basement where they could practice their transformations and where they could transform safely. The walls were sound proof so no one could hear their howls. They had built a separating wall for Bill and William, and Tavia would rest easy at the house above - knowing that the two most important people in her life would be safe from the hunters.
William's odd ability of being more sensitive than others had come up when he was rather young, and thus, he was prone to tantrums. Though it wasn't enough to drive him to transform to a wolf, it was still enough for him to suddenly harm someone around him. Thankfully, it never happens around other children, but rather other werewolves so no one really said a word about it. When the pack finally figured out why William was having tantrums, they quickly tried to train him to control himself better. He managed to control his emotions of fury, but William consistently avoids any places with a large concentration of people - or areas with loud equipment. It's why construction never bodes well for him and he loses sleep over it.
Meanwhile, he does have a good relationship with the other children. He has a lot of stamina thanks to his wolf blood and thus can play a lot more. He talks and plays with almost any children and his friendly personality earned him many friends - and has even been known to talk frequently with shy people in classes. He knows how to approach them properly and to not intimidate them with his energy. He mellows down for them and this causes them to open up to him a bit more.
The Maervsky family had always been under the radar when it came to hunters, so they had no special worry in that regard. However, when it came to other supernaturals, they were well-known for their willingness to step up to anyone who dares disrupt the peace of Salem. William was unaware of this and by the age of ten, he had befriended a rather nasty werewolf. The werewolf was trying to lure him in and turn him against the pack, and William was none the wiser. If not for this encounter, none of the tragedies in his life would have ever happened. Had he not been foolish enough to not see the wickedness in the werewolf, nothing would have ever changed. But alas, William was young and foolish and things must happen for him to learn.
William was led to believe that at the night of the full moon, something special would happen. He foolishly wondered what it was and escaped his house during the night of the full moon, only before the sun would set. Bill and Tavia panicked when they couldn't find their child and Bill tracked him down to a nearby forest. That was when they all transformed painfully under the full moon while Tavia watched in panic. Bill, having forgotten his necklace at home, began to violently attack anyone in sight - the first one being his wife. He then engaged battle with the other werewolf. William, frightened, hid behind one of the bushes and watched as the two wolves tore each other apart. Suddenly, hunters came around and put an end to the battle. William spent the night, alone, shivering and regretting everything. That was the day William Harold Maervsky was orphaned.
He came back to his home three days later, starving and tired. He had spent the past three days in his wolf form, roaming around the forest. He cried and fainted soon after. He woke up and then promptly began feeling like himself again. When other packmates had found him in his house, he was then asked what had happened to his parents since Tavia Maervsky had been found dead and was buried while Bill was nowhere to be found - assumed to have been eaten by the werewolves who were fighting. William lied about it and told them that he didn't know, and faked being confused. His mind barred the memories and instinctively told everyone a lie - hoping that if he lied enough, he would soon convince himself that it wasn't his fault. That he wasn't the cause of his parents dying. That he wasn't the cause of them running out that night. That he wasn't the cause of them wondering where he was.
Feeling pity for the young werewolf, one of his packmates - Volber Vulric, owner of the local butcher shop, took him and made him work there to earn some food to live. He had been offered sympathy and was able to continue all the way to high school thanks to the kindness of everyone he had met. This led him to believe that he could still trust others. That not everyone was bad. He slowly became happier and happier until where he was today. However, what also remained was a searing hatred for any of the supernaturals who stepped out of line - who decided that ruining the peace in their community was the right thing to do. He trained himself so that he would be able to fight them off. He trained tirelessly so that he could transform partially and willingly used his better heightened senses to track down those who wronged the community. This led him to many encounters and fights. He earned many scars because of them, those he hid from his friends.
There had been once incident that the pack was fighting with two rogue wolves who were more skilled in fighting than they were. William had been part of the attacking team and was severely injured thanks to his inexperience in the battlefield. He had been swiped at the back and then again at the front. He was left bleeding and slowly dying. It was only thanks to his regenerative abilities and the help of his packmates that he managed to survive. The two wolves had been defeated, however, and all was pretty well for them. William admitted that the battle had been very fierce and he swore to make himself better when it comes to fighting.
He never went on to college and opted to stay with Volber. There were two reasons: One, he didn't have the money nor the smarts to get into university and pay for the tuition fee. Two, he didn't exactly have any sort of goal in his mind other than protecting what is already around him - his city, or at least, what he can. He settled down into his usual normal life. He would often be one of the first people to greet a newcomer and even give them a tour of the place. He doesn't do much and people wonder where he gets the food and the money to buy clothes, but he only responds that it was because of his work with Volber and also because he gets tips from the ones he gives tours to.
William had a history with one of the witches of Salem - a young woman named Jamie. They were the best of friends that soon became lovers when he was eighteen. They would often be seen together. They were overall a sweet couple who doesn't show much affection in public, or even in private. Jamie had always invited him over and they would watch some scary shows just because, and then laugh at those movies that depicted them wrong. Nothing much had changed between them being best friends and them being lovers. This lasted for a year before they eventually broke up, thinking that it would be best if they simply stayed as best friends. They do admit that it had been quite a ride and everything had been going on well - but they just don't think they're right for each other. Jamie had since moved on to another boyfriend but still keeps William close to her heart as her "bestest friend" and he completely accepts it.
William never cared much for the hierarchy of their current pack. He is somewhere around the "Subordinate Class" - something that is in between the Beta and the Omega. However, he doesn't really care much for ranks. When their alpha challenged the new werewolf - a woman named Blaine Moore who he felt was admittedly dominant - he expected that it would like any other time. But Blaine had won and took over the supremacy. However, like before, there isn't much difference since she generally keeps to herself. William does tend to visit her every now and then - as he does with all of the werewolves in Salem and sometimes even other supernaturals who reside there, depending on his standing with them. Despite rivalries before, William never felt any sort of hostility towards or from the vampires so he became acquaintances with the lot of them.
With the shifts and the mysterious symbols coming up, William becomes more and more worried. He didn't know what was happening and he was hoping that it wouldn't be too bad.

- He can apparently hold his liquor and has a very high tolerance to it. - He struggles with learning new languages, so he often resorts to reading body languages when it comes the time for when he needs to listen to someone who speaks another language.
@Lionhearted@HushedWhispers I have two questions about vampires. 1. When it comes to sunlight, are we talking about direct skin contact? Could a 'heavily dressed' vampire walk a block or three with minimum to no damage from the sun? Or will the vampire burn despite the clothing? 2. Can vampires ingest regular food/drink to appear more human?
Starting to work on my character...possible two :) it might take me a while to get the cs' up. Due to how long and detailed they are :) Not sure about the dead-lines for it to be submitted
