If I join officially, it will be after everyone makes their selection, and then to fill whatever role is understaffed.

So here's my attempt on a werewolf.

Such a lawful werewolf... ACCEPTED~!

Wow. Seems like the wolves are filling up fast.

@Lionhearted @HushedWhispers
I have two questions about vampires.
1. When it comes to sunlight, are we talking about direct skin contact? Could a 'heavily dressed' vampire walk a block or three with minimum to no damage from the sun? Or will the vampire burn despite the clothing?
2. Can vampires ingest regular food/drink to appear more human?

Being heavily dressed and shaded from direct sunlight definitely reduces the effects of sunlight to a vampire, but they will still feel the effects given enough time. If you're wearing long pants, shoes, a big sweatshirt, a visor, and you're using an umbrella, you're definitely protected a good amount, but a vampire is still effected by the reflections and patterns of the suns rays. Sunlight can also seep through some fabrics, unless your clothes are enchanted by a witch to null any amounts of sunlight to penetrate through. Sunlight effects a vampires vision as well, so on a bright day, a vampire should wear protective sunglasses if it's necessary for them to go outdoors. Vampires will feel the effects of the suns rays heavily after about 2 hours of sunlight, without proper methods of shading and covering up their skin. The entire time a vampire is in sunlight, it feels like a crockpot heating up. Their resistance to the sun only lasts a short time before they start to feel their skin becoming irritated and a painful burn beginning on the most exposed parts of their body.

Think of the suns effect on humans~! Dermatologists recommend sunblock even when you're not in direct sunlight because the sun's rays still makes it way through reflections and whatnot. SO WEAR SUNSCREEN EVERYONE.

@HushedWhispers @Lionhearted

Starting to work on my character...possible two :) it might take me a while to get the cs' up. Due to how long and detailed they are :)
Not sure about the dead-lines for it to be submitted

I don't think I'm going to submit a deadline just yet, but people tend to be working on their CS in a timely fashion!

If I join officially, it will be after everyone makes their selection, and then to fill whatever role is understaffed.

Noted! Though, feel free to play whichever, I'm fine with NPCing the roles that aren't staffed sufficiently, so just make sure to create an enjoyable character to write as!

I'll have @HushedWhispers take a look at this one since she's going to be taking the role of Supreme Witch of the Voodoo Coven. Based on the bio, is your character apart of the Voodoo Witch Coven in Salem, or is your character just a stray warlock, recently moved to Salem?

As for my character, I'm thinking of taking the role as Vampire Coven Leader to ensure a progressing plot for everyone to enjoy!

@Lionhearted My question about mixing regular and voodoo magic was never answered. I recall that Hushed said no, but you might have a different view from her.

My answer is here.

EDIT: I guess to more answer whether or not it's allowed -- yes. It is allowed. But if you choose to make a witch using both regular and voodoo magic, they probably won't be nearly as strong as somebody who practices regular magic primarily, or voodoo magic primarily. Especially if it's a witch practicing their inherited magical branch.

Yes! I couldn't seem to find the words to make it as simple as you just put it~! I look forward to seeing your character!!

I also tried to make an aesthetically pleasing, character list in the character tab. Let me know if I'm being too extra.

Love it! I like how bubbly, seductive, and colorful she is. This CS definitely made me chuckle a bit, but out of good! I'm going to work on my character and then PM you to see about what relationship they'd have as I believe I'm going to make the Vampire Coven Leader!

So yes, Regina is accepted -- I mean Aimee. mean girls reference

Well since everyone seems to only care for themselves, I figured why not make an innocent guy and see what can happen to him in the span of the RP.

Such behavior is only expected when the setting is Salem, Massachusetts and the theme is supernatural. On the contrary, his innocence will definitely add diversity to the roleplay!

Weren't Weres supposed to either be able to fully shift fast, or partially shift?

The bit in the werewolf description is describing the abilities of the Alpha Wolf. The alpha can partially shift OR shift in a matter of seconds. This only applies to the Alpha because they're, well, the alpha. So Blaine would have this capability of choosing whether she wants to shift fast, or partially shift since she's the alpha.

@Lionhearted Yes, I meant for our new werewolf. I believe it was stated in a couple of places within the CS that he partially shifts. Personaly I'm not that opposed to Weres being able to shift both ways if one of the two is weaker and has significant drawbacks.

I'll reread it over when I get the chance. I just remember seeing that his drawback was that he takes awhile to shift, though he can partially shift. So I let him have that since he has the drawback of shifting slowly, which probably comes with a great deal of pain, too.

@HushedWhispers@Lionhearted

My character is in progress currently but now I have a question about the abilities of werewolves. Mainly now I'm just confused a bit by their shifting capabilities, which very well could be from my own misreading of everything so far(or the fact that right now I should probably go to sleep ) , but hopefully you can help clarify things for me.

Can non-alpha werewolves also fully shift and partially shift, just not to the extent their alpha can or are the pack members limited to just partially shifting or a slow full shift?

Hmm. I'm researching a bit to help clarify this matter, and I'm finding that there are a few different variations on the shifting patterns for werewolves.

As I read in @Polaris North's CS, it states that Will can partially shift, but it takes awhile for him to fully shift. In some wiki's partially shifting is experienced during a werewolf's puberty, but then it doesn't touch the subject of partially shifting ever again. For the alpha wolf, they have the ability to choose whether they want to partially shift, or shift in a matter of seconds. The ability implies that partially shifting is only shifting to an extent where fur, claws, and fangs are presented. Though, the alpha is elite and more experienced, thus they have the ability to shift within a matter of seconds. Therefore, a wolf beneath alpha would suffer from longer shifts, all depending on the experience of the wolf, which is usually defined by their hierarchy within the pack. Elder wolves, Alpha wolves, and possibly beta wolves, will have much quicker shift times based on their experience.

So I'll have it that the Alpha can only practice partially shifting, whereas other, inexperienced werewolves will only be able to fully shift. Due to a young werewolf's rabid nature, they can't withstand and control the ability to the extent of not fully shifting when they do go to shift. Partial shifting is, essentially, forcibly shifting to an extent of great control with some added benefits of the werewolf form.

Arguably, Polaris has stated that he is a beta within the pack with lots of experience in shifting, so perhaps he's closing in on the ability to partially shift, but isn't quite there yet.

EDIT: definitely edited this while people were reading it, IM SO SORRY. AHHH.

@Lionhearted That's a good clarification.

Also if I can point out. A wolf pack usually has only one Omega wolf. If someone wants to make that

And as a side note... Not sure if y'all have read my CS, but if someone has the burning desire to create a PC for Blaine's secret daughter, they totally can.
