I'm just trying to figure out how to jump in this RP again, since I got stuck when Anastasia left. I might toss a PM to GM.

We can take over for Anastasia for you, or you can even use her as an npc and use both characters in a post. The only restriction I ask, is that you don't kill her just yet.

I have a question regarding the current situation of Rothenburg.

Maybe this one's for the GMs, but the answer could be found in previous info in the IC or OOC that I did not read yet.

Question: What's the current level of danger within the walls since the Hunters were established? Is it still plausible to be attacked by a monster that manages to hide within the walls without being found?

Im no GM so I have no authority on this matter. Take with what I say with a grain of salt.

But I believe that there is a danger inside of the city, which had always been there since before the Hunters had been established. It’s just that the incidents have always been isolated or simply dismissed (no one really cares about what happens to vagrants in the ghettos), but even with the Hunters I believe that the situation is a bit more murky then just “people no one cares about us being attacked”.

This is meta so of course some don’t characters realize this, but I’m pretty sure even this current hunt is just to scapegoat a relatively isolated and harmless vampire colony to hide the true killers in the city, who may or may not be linked to the upper nobility (because of course). So it’s totally possible for monsters to be preying in the city without being found. And not because they’re good at covering their tracks or expert assassins, but because thy have the power to corrupt “justice”.

I've come to the same kind of of suspicion, but wrapped it up to the grander purpise of eliminating competition. Pay the ones capable of killing off the true threats in the city proper and have them not only consolidate their grip on the lands but remove the stronger hunans with it. If they die in a hunt its one less skilled hunter to deal with.

You guys post so much when I'm not available! Haha, I'm trying to catch up right now.

As to@ScorpionFlower's question, you guys are correct. As much was made public but might not be entirely obvious in the recent political exposition, the Ballanger guards who attacked the Filtiarn guards were, indeed, vampires who killed them later that night in the streets. This type of attack is relatively common, although it usually occurs in much less populated areas and with much less high-ranking individuals. That's what made this attack cause so much uproar. That being said, vampire and lycan attacks are relatively common inside the city walls, but they are usually more sneaky about it, especially with the hunters around, now. (I'd say there is some kind of attack at least once a week, though it's not always talked about since it's often done in the slums and could be chalked up to overdoses/sickness/any other things that could kill poor beggars.)

There are political ties to things, as Dromeus Ballanger clearly knows about his gaurd's involvement in the attack and their vampire status. He has had them killed and is doing all he can to take the blame off himself and the family. That being said, from the characters point of view, they can be suspicious of the noble house's involvement but they have no real reason to suspect them yet.

Oh yeah, and this hunt they are on right now is a way for Dromeus to push the blame on someone else. While it is a vampire colony, they are relatively passive other than killing local livestock. The hunters don't know that, however.

ALSO also, I like it when characters get hurt in fights >:3 It makes it feel more real and potentially creates drama. Hence, the fact that Drystan got injured a few times fighting the fish monster.

Anastasia would have been tied to the activities as she is the only character close with the Ballanger family but, unfortunately, she had to drop out. If anyone has any reason or want to get their character involved in the politics, I would definitely be open to having one of the noble families' children befriend them.

Here are some possibilities to keep in mind when everyone comes back to Rothenburg. I would love to have some intermingling plots with the hunters and the noble families.

Also to note for the current fight:

The main/most difficult part of this fight will take place in room 6, also known as the fighting pit. That can be where the big, main leader is and also, if anyone so chooses, perhaps a hunter falls into the pit and comes face to face with some creatures meant for pit fights. I want to you guys to have plenty of options so have fun with it!

Also, I just want to reiterate that vampires can regenerate unless poisoned by specific, vampire-targeted potions. If a poison were made with bits of silver in it, this would effectively halt the vampires regenerative abilities. Silver weapons also damage their bodies and can briefly halt their regeneration where wounded. The only way to truly kill them is to stab them through the heart with a silver weapon, decapitate them, or completely obliterate their bodies by bombs or other, more creative methods.

It would also be completely feasible for characters to get overwhelmed in this fight, as there are around 30 some vampires that are known to live there, they are in relatively close quarters, and the vampires have the advantage of knowing the place while the hunters do not.

The blind one got BIT. D:

Also, post was O.K @Lucius Cypher . Although I will not be answering to it right now because Juniper can't do anything. And realistically if I went for a transformation, hunters would kill her no question asked.

I'll wait that @Zelosse take the obvious 'i got wounded' bait you laid out. Or anyone else.

If nothing pops up, I'll see if I can come up with something. ;)

We'll miss you, @Stitches! If you find inspiration, feel free to jump back in.

Take note in my latest post, something from deep inside the cave let out a screech loud enough to be heard throughout the colony. I wanted to draw everyone downwards so we can really get this fight going.

My intentions are that the boss vampire character is in the pit/arena room (ie room 6) and is the one that called everyone to him. He wanted to rally all of the vampires together so that they could fight as a large group as opposed to being picked off one at a time. As I said, feel free to control the npc's as you want and who knows? Maybe someone will fall into the fighting pit and find what the vampires fought in there.

Hey, I think I’m gonna sit out the next hunt or two. Life is a little crazy right now. Feel free to use Jericho how you want, and let me know when the hunts over and I’ll see if I can jump back in.

@Lucius Cypher Hope you don't have any issues with my post? Took for granted you got wounded, since it's more or less what we spoke about. Can't really fight, so I wrote around it. xD
