Inspiration Sources

A Bloody Mess is inspired from concepts taken from The Walking Dead, The Last of Us and Resident Evil, where the undead are rising, and the living are quickly falling prey to the mysterious mutating virus that turns anyone infected into ravenous, aggressive zombies eager to spread the infection into every last living being and animal until nothing is left, and all are one. Once the virus became airborne, everyone became infected, now even if you don't get bitten, but you die, you will rise up as one of them.

General Premise Information

It started with a dock worker in New York, inspecting a container from Central America. Inside, a malignant mutating spore made contact and the man immediately began to manifest side effects akin to advanced rabies. He was brought in to a hospital, where a young doctor in training began collecting data and information on the infection, as well as blood samples. One doctor and nurse was bitten by the dock worker. Before the end of the day, most of the hospital was infected, and chaos soon spread into the streets. By then, the infection could not be contained. The young doctor fled the hospital, only to find the infection had since spread across most of America.

This vile infection spared nothing, even animals were affected, and they didn't completely lose their intelligence. All goals were simply altered to focus on the sole purpose of spreading infection and feasting on warm flesh. Few pockets of survivors remain, and in a time like this, will you look out for all of humanity, or just number one? Are you going to rise above your base instincts? Will you become the first of a new human race in a harsh new (and dead) world? Are you the villain? Are you the monster? Are you a survivor in a bloody mess?
