Let me start off by saying that I made this post years ago and just re-discovered the idea. A lot of the writing below is old but I can't be bothered to heavily edit it as I feel it still gets the point across. Thanks!

If you're a Harry Potter fan like me, you've come to the right place. I've been craving a RP with some magic and spells and whatnot and figured it couldn't get much better than the HP universe. Original characters, familiar setting. I had a partner lined up for this story but unfortunately it fell through; that being said, I do already have a character designed and a general idea of a starting point, but for the most part this was a loosely-thought out story so I'm looking forward to expanding on it with any potential writing partners.
Hufflepuff | Year 4 | Female | 5'1" | 115lb | Half Blood
Best Subject(s): Herbology
Worst Subject(s): Transfiguration. She's also a lousy flyer.
Elective Courses: Care of Magical Creatures and Divination.
Skills (magical): Is familiar with many plants and their magical properties.
Skills (non-magical): Some basic muggle skills such as cleaning, cooking, working a telephone, etc.
Appearance: Small and somewhat inconspicuous, Tallulah is an ordinary but pretty girl with a petite figure. She has a short, wavy bob of blonde hair and big green eyes, a round face and a small, upturned nose. When it's cold, which it often is, she likes to wear autumn-colored scarves (usually homemade) to add some personality to her uniform. Still a growing girl.
Distinguishing Features: Her short height.
Oddities: She has a soft spot for ugly and generally disliked creatures.
Personality: "Well, certainly not Slytherin. And no, not Ravenclaw. Ah, Gryffindor could do you well, but are you ready for it? A kind heart, undoubtedly, but I see a passion in you. A want to prove your worth, to prove you have what it takes... But something else, something you want more. Eh, you don't know? It's here in your head, everything so easy to see. Well, I'm not going to tell you! Hmm, you have potential, but be too soft and it will get in your way. Careful you don't let it...
HUFFLEPUFF!"
Kindness and cowardice don't always go hand in hand. Tallulah "Ula" Duncan has strong opinions and stands behind them, no matter what her Hufflepuff status might suggest. She generally has a nice and cheerful disposition, is family-oriented, and likes to keep her circle small. She feels the most accomplished when helping people (or things) and likes to do things by hand when she can. Time, patience and elbow grease! Food tastes better after hard work, something she learned from her mother.
History: Her father is a wizard and her mother, a squib. As a result Tallulah was enrolled in Muggle school and continued to attend even after she began to show signs of her magical talent, until she was eight. She didn't have any major tragedies in her childhood. The hardest thing for her was when she got old enough to understand the prejudice against her mother and how much of it there was. Eventually the judgement from the neighboring wizarding families resulted in them moving far away from both muggles and wizards alike. Her last couple years before her enrollment letter came were peaceful and she got to spend all of her time with her mother, little sister and her father (when he wasn't away for work). Although money has always been tight they're well off enough to not stress the extra cost of school books or the occasional expense. Tallulah, although very proud of her family, generally doesn't mention her mother's status in fear of history repeating itself.
Please be aware certain aspects of her profile are subject to change depending on the character age we go for. If she's older, her skill sets might grow, her personality could be stronger, and her physical appearance obviously might change in minor, puberty-related ways.

Romance: First and foremost while this was intended to be a romance (hufflepuff x slytherin ), the story should come first and foremost. I'm not into forcing chemistry and I don't want it to be the only focus, and depending on the year/age of our characters there is plenty of room to let friendship (or tension) develop before that happens. I would also like us to play side characters to prevent the story from feeling flat and unrealistic. If romance does happen, the vibe is: slow burn, initially don't see eye to eye (because enemies to lovers is my jam).
Year: Open to anywhere from 4th-final year. Originally planned for 4th/5th year, still dumb teenagers figuring their preferences out, but old enough to start getting their first serious crushes. It's meant to be light hearted and along the same genre as the original books, and a way to test out writing different aged characters as I typically stick to writing adults. (Would like both characters to be in the same year so they can share some classes).
Starting Point: I mentioned before that I had planned on doing this with someone else, so I do have an idea of where to start. I'm not married to it by any means. Essentially both of our characters land themselves in detention along with a small group of other students, and get shipped off to the Forbidden Forest by Hagrid's usual "scare them straight by sending them to collect ingredients" method of punishment. While in the woods, they're separated into pairs (and of course, to inspire future interactions our characters are paired off together - the usual trope) and they either get lost/get pranked by other students/something or other happens that isn't life-threatening but certainly memorable and they end up being forced to spend some unhappy times together on their small adventure.
Plot/future interactions past that are completely open for discussion.
Timeline: I was thinking it could take place before the books but after Voldemort went into hiding, so he's still very much a threat but not an active one. We would still have professors/other characters from the books to use as side characters, but none of the same school mates. I am open to changing this if given a reason to.

I would consider myself an advanced writer and would like for you to be, too. I work, so I'll typically respond 1-3 times a week. I don't have a writing minimum or maximum but obviously no one-liners. Dialogue forward scenes often call for less while descriptive or action heavy scenes can call for a heavy chunk of writing.
