We can have multiple co-GM tags, implementing the ability to have multiple GM tags would probably be appreciated by many; especially those who have completely collaborative works in terms of lore and world building. Obviously other features take precedent and Mahz has other things to fix and do with the site, as well as a busy life. Despite that, it's a relatively simple feature that maybe we could see added in the future?

We believe the GM tag is tied to the 1st post, so it might be tougher to implement than more Co-GMs.

Considering that there's only one real difference between GM and Co-GM at this point (appointing/removing Co-GMs), its not really a major distinction.
a "better" solution would be to empower moderators to be able to change the author on first post, for circumstances like when the GM wants to quit but the rest of the players (and Co-GMs) want to continue.

Also, upping the roof on Co-GM count would be helpful and require less work.

Editing the first post is pretty much the whole point, if they could give that ability to co-GMs via tick box option when creating the thread that, would be sufficient.

That's what the Zeroth posts are for, @SmileyJaws.

GMs and CoGMs can edit those.

Zeroth posts are fine as well, but they're often used for something other than the front post of the role play. I've also never met anyone who likes the zeroth posts, they're ugly and imposing.

EDIT: The front post is where the bulk of the important information goes, co-GMs not being able to make edits is a little silly. Nobody is saying it needs to be implemented immediately but I definitely can't see a problem with it. Especially if it's a feature that can be toggled when creating a thread.

Ok, I'll be sure to add you to first on the list.

The only point I'm making is, that as far as I can tell, there is no reason not to implement the feature for those who might want it. It's not a big deal.

While this could be nifty in the event of active development, I'd imagine this would be pretty low on the development list, and development is currently anything but active. In other words, I wouldn't expect expansion to GM tags anytime soon.
