THIS IS SO GOOD! I've started working on my post, too, but my gosh! You really write so that I can picture everything as it happens. Abigail Kate is already so compelling, and you've given me a lot of space to act within!
You've done an awesome job of setting yourself up as well; I'm already loving Reuben. I'll be working on my next post through the day, between rl stuff and whatnot. Might even find me some time to get a character sheet out by the end of the day. I'm really having fun with this!
It's a little weird, but it's also pretty awesome to be able to role play like this with people from around the world. And I agree that there isn't any rush. Feel free to take your time and reply at your leisure :)
That said, I managed to get my character sheet out as well as another IC! I've been waiting a long time to find a good partner to play a Western RP with, so I'm really enjoying this a lot! Can't wait to read your next post!
I know I probably don't need to to explain this to you, since the nature of RPing speaks for itself, but some RPers can get very sensitive about their character creations. So I just felt the need to make sure you don't let Abigail's current behavior reflect my own personal views of your character. I think Reuben is great! I also think you're doing a good job btw, I honestly couldn't have hoped for a better performance from anyone :D I just hope that I'm doing alright as well!
Thanks for mentioning that! I assumed it to be the case, but it's wonderful to be reminded. Since Reuben is a bit of a gruff guy, I'll ditto that and mention that I already like your character a whole lot!
You set the tone in this post so well! Every action that your character takes seems like it has a purpose, and it builds beautifully. I must have read it three times before I started writing on mine.
Yay! Colt Clementine has herself a companion! You broadened Reuben's personality well. Even reminded me to add a little detail to Colt's appearance over the next few posts. Really excellent work there!
Wow! That's quite a post! I love her introspection and doubtfulness, it really builds up her image as a careful character, and her morality and age keep being called into question. Really, really well done!
Thank you! I love that you're intrigued by her! I've been aiming to keep certain aspects of just who she is a mystery to unfold in time.
And I don't want you to worry about my vague handling of Reuben, I only did what I deemed necessary to set up the atmosphere of a passing scene and ensure no communication was made with the mystery man. It wasn't intending to play your character at all! (in case you were wondering) I may be GM but I honestly don't like controlling other players character and I expect no one to do that to my characters either. It's more interesting if partners have a lot of freedom to move around :)
It's a little strange, usually go with sci-fi, but it isn't something I usually read. I think I like writing it because it tends to have less boundaries in a what-could-be-possible standpoint. I usually prefer comedy when writing too, so a mix of both, but comedy is probably the hardest thing to pull off satisfactorily (Douglas Adams is basically my hero when it comes to comedy). How about yourself?
Douglas Adams is fantastic! I'm writing a sort of pirate/naval sort of thing. It has a heavy focus on individual strengths in a whole, and has a bit of humor as well, I think. I tried to channel Brandon Sanderson and Scott Lynch, and it turned out pretty okay, so far.
Also, sorry for the crazy long wait. I'll have the post up post haste!
