Pilot

Name:
Holly Pritchard
Appearance: A woman in her late thirties, with mid length, graying brown hair, often tied into a neat bun behind her head. In place of her right eye, there is a smooth metal patch with a series of gold electrical contacts on it. Her right arm is synthetic from just above the elbow, though in her combat jacket it’s usually mostly hidden.
She dresses in a gray pilot’s jumpsuit and harness, with the navy blue jacket of her old military regiment. The jacket is fastened with an offset zipper, usually partially undone with the front folded down. Her shoulder has a patch with a chess’s knight on it, under the number “205.”

Weapons:
~A short barrelled bullpup SMG that she can hold in one hand.
~The Bitch, a bastard sword, jokingly named. It’s collapsible and sits on the small of her back when not in use.
~A thermite gel launcher. It lobs fist sized globs of sticky, burning gel. It burns intensely enough to dig into armor plates.
Gear: Eye of Odin. Her helmet has a direct link to her optic nerve through her missing right eye. At its simplest, she can see with regular binocular vision when wearing her helmet. She can also switch the feed between any other cameras she networks herself with(including Cavelier’s visual processor).
Background: Holly and Recluse(originally designated CV-322) were paired together in military service with Orion’s Two Hundred and Fifth Mechanized Cavalry. She served during a bloody, planet-wide civil war that, last she heard, has not ended to this day. Holly was a young hotshot at the time, and ruined her military career in a moment of cockiness. Her squad was taking control of a lightly armed farm that was in enemy hands, Holly decided she could manage the fight on foot, with CV-322 standing by behind. A surprise improvised grenade was thrown(or launched, it was never clear) from the nearby barn, igniting in mid air a few feet to her right. CV-322 rushed in to scoop its incapacitated pilot into the cockpit, and in an uncharacteristic display of nearly human anger, leveled the barn.
Holly’s helmet and armor saved her life, but she lost an arm, an eye, and has had a long road to recover from brain damage. She was set to be decommissioned, and her titan reassigned. She stole it(and for its part, CV-322 didn’t make much effort to avoid being stolen), and took a smuggler’s ship from the planet. She’d already lost her arm, half her eyesight and her job, she couldn’t stand to lose her partner too.
Holly and Recluse(as her mecha has come to be known) have been doing mercenary work on out of the way worlds ever since.

Name: Recluse
Appearance:

Class: Medium
Armament:
~Kr-133 Focused Plasma Rifle. Fires bolts of plasma at 900 rounds per minute. The plasma cartridge carries 35 bolts worth of compressed plasma matter.
~Tor Industries Arc Cannon Mk-IV. A shoulder mounted heavy gun that fires a relatively slow moving orb, which arcs high voltage electricity off of it.
Utility: The Web. A line launcher that embeds heavy duty conductive lines into its targets. The lines can remain attached to Recluse, or be anchored to another object or surface. Recluse’s arc cannon, or any other electric weapon, can conduct along these lines to electrocute whatever is attached to either end.
Last Stand: Venomous Bite. Recluse launches one of their lines, with a direct link to their own power source. They empty their capacitors into the conductive line, causing massive electrical damage. If launched into a network of Webs, this charge can be spread to multiple targets, or an area of effect.
This leaves Recluse stunned for about three seconds, and slowed for another ten while their capacitors recharge.

Background: Born in the Martian badlands during the time of the old Sol Confederacy to some miners. Burns was orphan at a young age due to a mining accident. He soon fell in with Martian independence group in the badlands. He was soon arrested along with the rest of his group in the Martian capital New Austin in a failed uprising attempt. Sent to a maximum-security prison to await execution for rebellion. While he was in prison he received an offer of to fight for the confederacy or take his chances with the firing squad. Burns accepted the offer. At the time, the Sol confederacy was dealing with a massive insurrection and desperately need soldiers. Burns was sent to the siege squads a group of infantries that specialized in assaulting heavily fortified position. Due to the high rate of attrition in the units the Confederacy was forced to recruit prisoners. Arriving in the Varoux sector he was assign to the 8th siege infantry division. Burns fought for next few years as a normal rifleman fighting in the various sieges in the sector. Again, with the high amount of attrition Burns was selected to become a pilot and war paired with a Adalbert-class heavy assault titan called Jotunn. The pair preformed phenomenal for the remaining years. The war ended for Burns when the Sol Confederacy collapse. In the following chaos Burn left the core worlds with his titan and traveled to the frontier. Once out on the frontier he became a freelancer for the next several decades.

Titan
Name: Jotunn
Appearance:

Class: heavy
Armament:
Minigun: Jotunn carries the AS-M12 mini-gun a short barrel version of M11 mini-gun. Its role its to deal with infantry and light armored targets. As well as to provide suppressive fire to friendly units.
Heavy laser cannon: The Jotunn heavy hitter is the mounted Heavy laser cannon. Used to destroy hard-points along with other titans.
Utility:
Active defense system: The ADS is not one but two systems working in tandem with each other. First is a electronic countermeasure system that interferes with the lock on for guided weaponry. The next system is the directional shielding. With this system the titans shield would automatically direct the shield against incoming fire.
Last stand: Super charge: Jotunn funnels all its power into the mounted laser cannon firing a highly destructive beam obliterating all in its way. The amount of power the core must vent the excess heat.
Notes: Its known that the Adalbert-class titan AI due to the role they have would become highly aggressive causing the Confederacy to rest the AI often.

Pilot

Name: Ephraim Karras
Appearance: Years of military service have calloused Ephraim’s hands and given him a robust, well-defined build. His hair is cropped close to his head and he wears a full beard. Striking blue eyes pierce from under a thick brow. His skin is tanned as a result of both genetics and days spent under the sun. His left hand is prosthetic, a constant reminder of wartime rigors.

Weapons:
  • FAN-6 carbine - multiple configurations shown. Ephraim prefers a vertical foregrip and holo-sight, with other attachments as necessitated by the current operation.
  • P23 semi-automatic handgun - standard-issue sidearm carried by Gliesian Army forces.
  • A small collection of folding knives and a tactical machete.

Gear:
  • Pilot suit, with chest rig / armor plate carrier.
  • Ballistic helmet with integrated HUD and night/infrared/thermal vision filters.
  • TBA

Background: Prior to settling on Actaeon, Ephraim served with the 16th MFR - Mechanized Force Reconnaissance of the Gliesian Army. His detachment operated along a theoretical border between several fringe Gliesian colonies and home territories. For much of his service history, Ephraim's unit conducted patrols in the region, scouting for signs of buildup to a rebel offensive and screening incoming and outgoing traffic in Gliesian-controlled space. The signs pointed to an outbreak of hostilities, following military coups and declarations of independence by these frontier colonies.

By the time war had broken out, Ephraim's unit was among several dispatched to put down an insurrection on the colony Jubilant. When they arrived, fighting between the Gliesian military and separatists erupted. The rebel fighters operated as a patchwork of entities, fighting with both guerrilla and conventional means. Years of gruelling warfare passed by, with control of the colony teetering from one side to another and back. When it was clear that the rebels would not be defeated in a conventional war, Gliesian High Command devised a brutal operation to root out and destroy the separatist guerrilla movements.

Ephraim's unit was unknowingly armed with a deadly chemical agent under the pretense of a powerful anesthetic for the purpose of knocking out civilians and making it easier to transport them from the fighting to safety. In reality, Gliesian High Command planned to use the gas to wipe out the colony’s population, thereby eradicating all separatist activity. Ephraim and his unit was shaken to their cores when they witnessed the effects of the chemical agent. The operation was a success at the cost of all life on Jubilant. At the conclusion of the operation, Ephraim and his unit were awarded with decorations for “defending the integrity of Gliesian space,” and forced to keep a strict silence regarding the details of their mission.

Ephraim's unit struggled with a wavering sense of loyalty in the wake of the event. The fact it had been used to perpetrate a war crime lingered on the shoulders of its pilots. Some tried to forget, bottled their emotions and continued serving. Others tried to justify their actions to themselves. A number left the service or defected. Ephraim decided to abandon Gliese altogether, resentful of his former loyalty. Time and wanderlust led Ephraim to Actaeon, where he settled for military contractor work and tried to put the past behind.

Titan

Name: HC-82 Voltigeur
Appearance:

Class: Medium
Armament:
  • X330 chain gun - A 30mm, single-barrel, electrically-operated autocannon. Electrical power, instead of recoil or gas, cycles the weapon at a rate of 625 rounds per minute. The ROF can be altered in increments of 25. Advanced recoil mechanisms allow this weapon to be accurately fired with one hand. The most common round used by the X330 contains an explosive charge sealed in a shaped-charge liner. The liner collapses into an armor-piercing jet of metal that is capable of penetrating more than 2 inches of rolled homogeneous armor. The shell is also designed to fragment upon impact, with a lethal range of 10 feet from the point of impact against unprotected targets.
  • SGM-89 AT missile - The SGM-89 uses a fire-and-forget infrared homing system to find targets. The missile travels in an arc, designed to knock out armored vehicles with a top-down approach. Their range exceeds 4,000 meters and they are powerful enough to defeat 600-800 millimeters of rolled homogeneous armor. The missiles are fired via tubes mounted on the mech’s shoulder.
  • Head-mounted machine gun - A pair of .50 caliber machine guns mounted on the mech’s head provides it with anti personnel and small missile defense. They are fed via a linked 400 round magazine.

Utility: TBA
Last Stand: TBA

Notes: The Voltigeur can achieve a maximum speed of 82 kilometers per hour at dry load via wheels mounted in the feet. The engines produce roughly 395 horsepower. Its armor is resistant to small arms fire and rounds up to 14.5 mm.
Equipped Systems:
  • Countermeasures - The mech is fitted with smoke and chaff launchers, which discharge tiny particles to confuse the detection systems of guided missiles fired at it. The smoke blocks both vision and thermal imaging. A Windbreaker active protection system is designed to intercept and destroy incoming missiles and rockets with a blast of buckshot-like projectiles. A 360-degree field-of-view fire-control radar detects incoming warheads, immediately calculates its vector of approach and the elevation and time required to intercept it. Once it’s done so, two rotating launchers release a blast of projectiles at the missile at a safe distance from the frame.
The mech is also equipped with a passive infrared countermeasure system to defeat missiles guided by IR signals.
  • MTADS / PNVS - The Modernized Target Acquisition and Designation Sight and Pilot Night Vision Sensor are separate units, but mounted together in the same housing. MTADS contains stabilized electro-optical sensors, a laser rangefinder and laser target designator, thermographic camera and a full-color daylight television camera. Images from the MTADS can be projected on the pilot’s helmet-mounted HUD or overlaid on the cockpit screen.
The Pilot Night Vision Sensor links an infrared camera slaved to the pilot’s helmet.
  • IHADSS - The Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System allows the pilot to slave the X330 to their helmet. The weapon will track the movement of the head, pointing where the pilot looks. The gun can be controlled this way, or via the MTADS.
  • GFAS - The Ground Fire Acquisition System detects and targets ground-based weapons fire sources. It does so in all-light conditions with a 120° visual field. Muzzle flashes are located via thermographic camera.

Name: Wulfgar
Appearance: 6'6" robot containing an AI. His plates of armor are a dull gray hue, with lines of a dark red. His head is ornamented to look like a wolf slightly. In certain areas, there are no plates for there is not enough there to bother shooting at.
Helmet Head: His head contains an access port to upload his AI into his mech. It gives him control of it, but his mech still controls major functions
Weapons:
Wulf's Claw- a pistol that has armor piercing rounds. It has a lot of power and accuracy, but it makes too much noise and doesn't hold more than 3 shots
Wulf's Maw- a sub-machine gun that fires vary rapid fast bolts of red energy. It is fast and strong, but not highly accurate.
Gear: Feral AI- For a short time, Wulfgar increases in speed and strength, but his logic processor fails. He instead uses an axe lined with electricity.
Background: Wulfgar was the now-time of Frankenstein gone wrong. His creator company, Forge Tech, were obsessed with making the perfect warrior AI. It however, was too violent during release tests. In between tests, however, before "he" was erased, he hacked through the security protocols and uploaded himself to a security bot. He used this freedom to have a little fun before escaping, virtually destroying the facility. After he fled, he took odd jobs for the various factions. Over time, one faction appealed to him and gave him interest in return. They provided him with resources in return for his services from time to time. He built himself a new body and gear that suit him, as well as a titan.
Titan
Name: Feral Stalker
Appearance: Although lanky unlike most medium classed titans, Feral stalker is a force to be reckoned with. It's tall yet long stature gives it the look of a light, but it's armor thickness and thick weighted frame make it medium. It's hands are clawed and long fingered, but none the less useful. It's core and head is more defined then most titans, having a wolfish appearance like it's pilot. It's camo is a mix of light blue to navy blue, with black facets and details here and there. It has it's pilot's signiture mark of three red claw marks on the head, chest and shoulders.
Class: medium
Armament: It's hands, an arc launcher(shots bolts of energy like a grenade launcher)
Utility: Feral Stalker can turn invisible to both eyes and radar, except for it's footsteps in certain materials.
Last stand: BerserkFor a small amount of time, Feral stalker becomes highly resistant and uses his claws to tear apart foes.
Notes: The AI of the Titan may be less sophisticated, but no less sentient. It constantly makes jokes at the feral "thoughts" Wulfgar produces instead of more logical thoughts people would think he would have. He does it in a subtle manor.
