But why do you hate her so? And if you do, why is she still about. Do I detect... a contradiction!?

That's a pretty sizeable assumption to make.

Wait... she's dead?! :C
Basheer's rival... gone like that... :C

They had fun times together. When he tried to kill her. And she blasted him with destruction magic.

They were meant for each other.

THEY WERE THE ROMEO AND JULIET OF DIVINUS, AND YOU DID THAT TO HER!

@Kho Relax, Helvana found Violet and they're tagging along with in her journey. Though I do have some trouble with them, I barely mentioned Violet in my last post...

Also, at some point Violet was supposed to leave, but @Antarctic Termite didn't mention it anymore. Not like I'm complaining, Gwyn sure likes his furry friend.

I looked at it and thought 'fug me that's long', but once I got into it I found it to be a very enjoyable read. Her interaction with the crows was a bit childish, but that made sense given her age. I thought the way she was developed in her interactions with Gwyn and Lloyd was nicely done - and it might be just me, but I found myself rooting for LloydxHelvana somewhat through all that.

I've been trying to work out what exactly Arksynth is. I understand how it came to be and so on (the whole Vaky Deus Ex Machina stuff), but I don't really understand what it is and what it is capable of. Is this quote an accurate explanation?

"...What I've made is, simply, divine flesh, soft enough to be moulded by mortal hands. Its potential is limited only by patience and creativity." Aware that it was improvising, the voice quickly continued. "And luck. Lots of luck."

As I understand it, you pick a bunch of things that you'd like it to mould into, and then it moulds into one of those things by random chance.

In brief, you perform esoteric 'recipes' with it, and it yields biotechnology.

The details of the recipes, however, tends to vary randomly depending on your batch of Arksynth, so it is somewhat unpredictable and requires a personal touch to get it to behave. When creating new biotechnology from Arksynth, you are encouraged to invoke some randomness as to what biotechnology you create (generally by using die rolls), to reflect the serendipitous yet unpredictable nature of Arksynth.

It's basically some fusion of alchemy and chance used to make biotechnology; another form of magic.

@Muttonhawk@BBeast Hmm, thanks for that. I'll read future posts that involve Arksynth more carefully to glean more understanding from seeing how it functions in practice.

Damn, Guarded Hearts was something. While I obviously liked the TounxJvan bonding time, I very much liked Toun's reaction to Whisper's blasphemous 'I've had enough of your kind' stuff. For his stalwart defence of godkind, who are the most derided beings in the damn Universe (mostly by easily smite-able mortals), Toun deserves a medal. Fate should reward him. I hereby petition Fate and Amul'Sharar to reward Toun's defence of the gods.

In other news:

Dear Kho,

I am sending you this private message to inform you of Antarctic Termite's blatant incompetence at matching BBCode tags.

During our recent collaboration, titled 'Guarded Hearts,' he demonstrated failure to match no less than two (2) strikethrough tags, two (2) uniform resource loader tags, one (1) colour tag by failure to close, and more italics tags than I could record before they were fixed.

I understand that Divinus is an RP in which no such thing is to happen, to protect the reputation of ourselves and our flawless writing.

It is the humble recommendation of this player that Termite is expelled from the RP, effective immediately, and without appeal.

Yours Sincerely,
Muttonhawk

Dear Kho,

Please tell Muttonhawk to shut his damn mouth. This is lie and slander.

Yours Unemployedly,
Antarctic Termite

I think I should respond.

Dear Muttonhawk,

I recently had the pleasure of reading your letter dated February 6, 2017. I apologise for the delay - various bureaucratic blunders (read: it's all Cyclone's fault) meant that I was rendered incapable of responding sooner. Unfortunately, it is no longer within my power to decide on this matter, and I have forwarded your letter of complaint to the new administration. I have no doubt that they will return to you forthwith.

Yours Unemployedly,
Kho

Edit: Also, HUZZAH, Vowzra's light did something. Jvan now knows that she was always an empathyless psycho. Lets hope she finds happier memories. Think happy thoughts. Happy thoughts.

@Cyclone I just reread the Pasach post and it made me think...
the last time Zeph saw Vowzra, the latter was in this form.
And Zeph went and created a people who look like this.

Methinks this whole thing is Zephy saying, 'I miss you Vowzie.'

It is known.

I would warn against rewarding Toun for being a dick to depressed kids. It'll only encourage him.

All the same, thanks for the praise.

This... roleplayerguild.com/posts/4199041
Woah. I... I get it!

Edit:

"Coo-oor-oor-roo," said Himpledonk, the pigeon, from her perch. "Coor-roo-oo-oo!"
A Termitian Post

OH NO YOU DON'T. If this is another Pumps manoeuvre, I'm not fallin for it

Edit 2:

"COO-ROO-OO-ROO!" said four hundred and fifty-nine pigeons.
That Termitian Post

SHET SHET SHET.

Edit 3: The first part of the post [roleplayerguild.com/posts/4202100] made me think of Studio Ghibli (Studio Ghibli needs to adapt Divinus II into a series), but by the end I was thinking Teletubbies... some freakishly twisted Teletubbies. I think it was all the Hello Lalas and Goodbye Tinki Winkies that did it.

It detects divinity. Specifically, it had recorded a baseline background of divinity. Teknall used it to buff his Concealment in a plot-interesting manner.
