Hello world! It is I, the squishiest of brains! I'll be honest, I'm not even sure what to put in this post. . .

Um, roleplay wise, I've been meaning to try something Bloodborne related. Two hunters, braving the crazy Yharnam beast hunts. I think it would actually be a real cool idea, so hopefully somebody likes it! If you are interested, PM me I guess.
I'm not huge on Character Sheets either, I'll be honest. I prefer to have my stories flow like a novel, though usually not crazy long post lengths. Each post, in some way, should either explain or further the story, not just repeating the moment but with your characters thoughts on it. I dunno if that makes any sense but. . .

Other than that, I really don't know. If you are interested in the Bloodborne thing, or have any other ideas, hit me up!

I don't think we have any Bloodborne content. If you're not real sure about where to go with it, write out all the details you want to use and try posting in General Interest Checks. You'll probably get some advice there, but I suspect it'll succeed best in Casual, since you don't care for "crazy long post lengths."

Hmm. I don't know how much RP experience you have, but Character Sheets are paramount to a roleplay if you want to include other people, even if they're based on existing characters. They can't write without knowing and understanding your character, and the CS is how you express that. You can find an interesting discussion on character personality here, but feel free to start a New Topic in Roleplay Discussion about Character Sheets for feedback. Making a CS that fits your RP and style is tricky, but I think you'll find it necessary. CS's are separated into their own tab anyway, so they won't actually interfere with your in-character posts.

So yeah.

Maybe I just roleplay weird.

Character sheets ruin the immersion for me. I don't want to know everything there is to know about your character before we start, especially things like backstory, abilities, etc. My character won't know that immediately upon meeting you, and I don't want to either. It's an immersion thing, the furthest I'd be willing to go is appearance beforehand.

And when I say crazy long, I just mean I don't want to type pages worth of roleplay. Maybe 4-5 paragraphs tops?

I do appreciate the advice though! Looking through the interest check stuff as I type this ^^;

Yeah well who doesn't?

In theory, this makes sense. Not knowing IRL makes writing easier because it feels more natural to know as little or as much as your character does. But the problem with that is that other people do not necessarily have the same standards as you. It is easy to end up RPing with someone who could be far too powerful or using completely different rules. It can lead to massive balance issues. Sure it's not as easy to RP knowing the full story about a character, but that's why we have "In Character" and "Out of Character." Being able to roleplay a character who doesn't know something that you do is just part of the challenge of a good roleplay, and knowing the full loadout of the other characters is critical to avoiding problems down the line.

Sure, you could choose to obscure some parts with Hiders, but as GM you should be sure everyone is on the same page when the RP starts.

So, Advanced or Casual. Probably High Casual (i.e. Casual, but with higher standards).

Hey, sorry if this is out of place but I just want to say that I'm not a huge fan of sheets either!! For very similar reasons too. Glad to hear there's someone else! Welcome to the Guild! :)
