@Ithradine Love it. The only thing I need is a base number for damage stat of your sword. It's fine if it increases over time. Would you rather the sword share the same EXP bar as you or would you rather it have its own? Add him to the characters section.

@Pseudo Stygian This one is nice as well. Add her to characters section. And if I may suggest, it sounds like your character has the hand-eye skill to throw knives. She has all those pockets, fill them with knives. An illusion moving in a straight line shouldn't be too complex.

@HeroicSociopath Still room for 1 more

I like what I've seen. I should have everything finished and ready by tonight. Then we can get started tomorrow.

@Champion

Do you mean spilt my XP between my character and weapon, or have have my weapon gain the same amount of XP I do when you say 'share'?

That is exactly what I mean. The difference would be;
If your character and weapon share the same exp bar, the necessary EXP to level up would be higher than everyone else characters. However, If the weapon increases by 1 damage every level, then by level 100 it would have 108 base damage which would be pretty high. But doing it this way even if you don't use the sword or have the sword it still grows with you. Even if it were to break and be reforged it would still grow.

If the EXP bars are split, then your character will have the same needed exp to level up as the others but he will have a secondary exp bar to fill. Every time your character gains exp the sword would eat half of it in order to grow. But if you "unequip" it then it stops eating your exp.

There's pros and cons to botu

I think I will just go with sharing the same XP bar

You could treat it the same way as I am with Arwyn's Estent Magoli where their power is based purely on her Strength. That way, if you invest XP in increasing Arton's Strength, the blade would also get stronger.

By the same logic, any XP spent buying new swordsmanship abilities could be written in a way to imply that it's the blade which is getting stronger, rather than Arton. This again would use the same pool of XP as everyone else, but since the abilities would be tied to Severance you could tag them as requiring it for them to work, similar to what I did with Arcane Arrows/Gúl Peng Arwyn and Shadowmeld/Gwathren Gollo.

What would the damage reduction of Oathkeeper be?

@Genni

That is a good suggestion, but I want Severance to grow alongside Arton. It starts off a simple, yet strong, blade that through his experiences and feats of valor gains power.

I am not sure cause I did not have a frame of reference for Oathkeeper

Shields will take away all damage just like a successful parry. The only time damage reduction will be a factor is when it come to light vs heavy armor. The only time a character should take damage after a successful block or parry is if the attacker is using a special skill or specific weapon.

Oh dang, how can I forget about knives-throwing? That's definitely her thing. I'm gonna add... 5 throwing knives in her pocket? They're recoverable and one damage each? Would basic throwing be a skill or can it just be an attack in general?

And you know what else I forgot about? LOCKPICKS.

Since Ananda can perform illusions, could she have a “Rain of Terror” spell or ability where she’d throw knives but also create an illusion of many more knives as well, making it impossible for her target/s to block on counter the attack?

Oh, that's neat. And flashy. I keep thinking she'll use the knives sneakily, like regular rogues, but she does like flashy. And I'm thinking she can also cast it on other ranged weapons, like Arwyn's arrows. I guess visual duplication can just be considered a Create Illusion, but something with combat effect might be worth a separate spell?

How's this then, @Champion?

@Pseudo Stygian If you're feeling mean, the Rain of Terror ability could also be used to provide cover when escaping through city streets. Just thow one coin, and then make multiple illusionary copies.

Speaking of duplicates, you could also have something like Puppeteer, where Ananda would create an illusionary clone of herself which she could control from a nearby hiding place. This could be coupled with the ability to trow her voice, a common stageshow sideact.

She could use this on occasions where she needed to be seen, but wouldn't necessarily want to be, such as when she was negotiating with a hostile business rival, or her lover's significant other. The spell would be broken as soon as anyone tried to physically interact with it, but that should provide Ananda either time to escape or the opportunity to leap out of the cupboard shouting "Surprise!" with a ferret in each hand.

@Jerkchicken Never too late. You can add an ability anytime before you start a mission or during a break in a mission. On special occasions, you can learn a new move during the heat of battle.

Will these two work?

Perceive supernatural

Stamina Drain:

Empowered touch

Rank:
Stamina Drain: This ability allows the wielder to project their own energy as around them and anything in hand. This energy in turn allows the user touch pure energy and intangible elements such as electricity, spirits or even magic.

Isn't mage hand wizard flavored telekinesis? Also not quite truesight since it's more oriented on seeing spooky and magic stuff rather than everything, which I think truesight does.

Also now that I only gave myself as an obtuse way of asking if there's gonna be magical entities and stuff that's normally invisible and or immune to phsyical damage, so I can keep punching stuff without interruption.
