Central Precinct

"The night is just starting, why stop now EL-TEE?"

The rain poured down on Detroit, fitting for a city that was on the bound of drowning itself out - with a plague, crime wave and with corruption. One of the three would kill a lot of people, but no one could call it yet - it was too early. The potential for each had serious consequences for most, while those in the shadows would pray and yearn for such an event to occur, the chances seemed to grow in their favor every day. The Central Precinct is the headquarters for the city's entire police force, north, south, west and east all report into the central precinct. Ran by the notorious, Commissioner Troye Darcy.

Walking alongside a rather black and decked out Detective Moore, the young and impressionable Julia Fields was on her Deck as the two made their way through the precinct's underground parking garage. She was adorned in a MIT university sweater and a pair of black BDUs which are bloused just above her boots. Her badge hangs from her neck from a cheap corporate chain, along with a security FOB. Moore wore a leather coat hanging down to his knees, a ripped black collared shirt a pair of sweat and jackboots. He too had his badge and security FOB out, since the two were detectives and one was undercover it seemed necessary to have their identification ready should anyone stop them from entering or question their appearance and activities within the station.

"Rough night, rough sex, rough fight? Which one is it Detective? I think it's one and two." Julia quirps, gesturing to his messy appearance, she extends her FOB and the door clicks with a quick buzz. She opens the door to the stairwell and the two enter. "All three, no joke Jewels. I'm a killer, player, and fighter." He nudges her, which causes her to almost drop her deck. She looks up scolding him as she pockets the device. "Watch it, expensive! My gear is too expensive. Like - a lot!"

Moore's hands found themselves flying through his wild, bushy black hair. "I'll tell it to you straight chick, so keep your eye off that screen. Bar fight, buddy gets his drink on my shirt like fuck him. Got into a fight, he was in one of those poser gangs. Some wild shit, almost got my throat cut clean. Put his head in the bar, wooden bar so that shit split when I creamed him. Maybe he died, better off he did cus I fucked his girl. Looked like you, big mouth but a real tight ass. She was the one that iced my collar good." He laughs, his huge arms coming around the woman's neck. Julia could only really laugh along with him as they walked the rest of the way.

"Big mouth? I mean, I dunno. You should be my partner, come join cybercrimes I need a tough crazy mean guy like you." She smiles as she tries to pry his huge arms off her.

"Partner? No."

"How come, I need like an awesome partner! "

Moore laughs at her remark, letting go of her neck as the two make it to the main floor. Julia seems to have had a huge weight removed from her neck as the color seemingly returns to her fragile face.

"I don't know ya chick, fuck didn't know LT was gonna put with me some tech-head jeez. I don't fuck with partners and I don't really fuck with this shit, Mayor Gallant had to go fuck my shit up, but I can't do nothing about it so let's go set this briefing up." Moore takes the lead, opening the door to the empty prep room. The halls seemed to be less chaotic, of course, guardsmen, FBI and state troopers still lingered and the injured were - dead or elsewhere. The prep room thankfully was empty and Moore began to set up the command staff's chairs accordingly.

"I'm leaving a fifth, in case IA wants to come by cuz I know they are gonna be all over us in no time."

"Charming! I have a feeling, you and me we'll be like two peas in a pod. Or something like that, don't hold back Detective Moore. I'm a tough nut to crack." Julia makes her way to the table where she sits down and puts up her feet, her deck sits out on the table while she brings up a hologram of various files, dossiers, and documents.

"So, EL-TEE is doing half the team and I get to do the rest - with your input of course. I already had a few people in mind, so it shouldn't take too long and I'll have some extra hours to sleep before the brief. Without further adieu - applicant one!"

A picture of an older man, his face scarred and his body augmented expands to lifesize form in front of Julia who then throws the hologram over to Moore.

"EY! Yo don't throw that cyber shit at me!" Moore freaks as he ducks for cover at the hologram.

"Relax! It's not real, it's a picture. Take a look!"

"Muthafucka looks like an old ass man."

Julia begins to read parts of the dossier

"Reinhardt, Jack - German maybe? Really old guy, like fourty I think. Super violent gets physical with people because he is angry - maybe. Naturally looks scary, has a history of violent encounters. Born in Baltimore-"

"Man... This dude sounds like he'll shoot a brother already." Moore interjects, in a saddened tone.

"Let me finish Moore!" Julia preps to throw Jack again at him, which causes him flinch.

"Born in Baltimore - a really great city!" She clears her throat loudly at Moore, who rolls his eyes cursing something fierce under his voice as he went to move the patrolman's chairs.

"Joined the army, did okay in the army. Broke up with his wife after the army, maybe he found a stripper cuz it doesn't say. Maybe he did, but then he gets into trouble while he is a cop. Lots of tribunals cus he is a big violent guy like you, Moore."

"Ain't no one violent like ME." Moore goes to grab where his Katana would usually be. "Oh, fuck did I leave it..."

"I'm not done yet, hey! So he gets in trouble with command a lot cus, he's just like that alright - sooo. He joins vice, your unit I think. Oh no that's uh the gang unit nevermind."

"Damn right." Moore, now on his phone as he goes to check something. "Left my shit at that chick's house, I'm so fucked."

"Not now, sooo... Uh, I forgot what I was gonna say... Yea uhh Vice. It won't say what he did but there weren't issues, then oh yea. His wife died! Yea she got shot by a crazy guy I think, fuck that must be horrible. Like, she got melted - oh yea autopsy said she was into Super-sid - a drug for like total junkie losers. Sounds like our guy, single and ready to get work done - right?"

"Heeeey... Ash how yo doin' right - did I leave my huge ass sword in yo crib?" Moore was off on his phone, in the corner of the room. Julia shut down the huge hologram of Jack and continued to comb through his files. "So... could you bring dat over to the precinct like asap - what? Yea... Yea girl... y'know I'll uh... come back to visit."

"Yes? No? Maybe? Moore! I'm going to press yes if you don't say anything!"

"Yea girl... I'll see you soon alright - uh.. you too." Detective Moore hangs up the phone and looks over to Julia who already is on the next dossier. "Yea uh, accepted him thanks for the input."

"Wait what?! Ey what the fuck you didn't let me say shit!"

Julia shrugs "You were busy, sorry Detective." Moore makes his way over to the front of the room where Julia is seated, he takes her deck and looks through the dossier while she physically protests by grabbing for her equipment. "Hey!"

"So.. Derek Sloan? Wirey lookin' ass dude did really good in the academy. Climbed to a homicide detective asap, and started cleaning up the south side. The city did him a favor gave him some laughs, eyes, reflex system dude is looking like a ninja now. Yea, but uh... Dude's in a psych hospital. No dice."

"Yes dice, we can get him out! Call the uh, Doctor Michaels." Julia takes her deck back and starts an audio call.

"Doctor Michaels speaking, central precinct-"

"Hey Doctor! It's Detective Fields, can you take this guy out of the looney bin?" Julia sends over the files during the call, the beep on Michaels end. Moore gets up and takes out a raggedy looking cigarettes, he flips out a cheap lighter and ignites the end of the cancer stick. A hefty bellow of smoke escapes from his lips. "I'm going to find something to drink, cya in a bit chick." Moore exits the room into the now, more lively hallways of the station.

The audio buzzes back "Uh.... I can but I'm not going to do so. I think I'm the one who threw him in there, besides I'm not going to put a psycho on the streets especially during times like these"

"So? Undo it, the Lieutenant said I can pick whoever I think is best, this guy is kinda really good.
Even Detective Moore said so, if you don't do it I'll get another less uptight doctor to do it! We need people who can get the job done you know the saying right? You have to pardon a few serial killers to get the other killers, so have a heart and think about all the people you'll save and maybe inadvertently kill. I dunno yet, IA isn't apart of this. Yet."

"There's no need for that Detective, I understand what is at risk here if you truly think Sloan will do good for the team. I was about to speak with the Lieutenant anyway. I had a question, have you heard of a Detective Nato from Fraud?"

"No, why?" Julia e-notes the name down into her deck.

Michaels's voice turns into a short chuckle. "No, just a nobody doesn't worry. He'll be joining the team I just need to finalize the others the Lieutenant have picked. You know what those three men have in common, right?"

"They are all men?"

Michaels laughs again, the audio vocoding his voice buzzes slightly.

"Yes, that's it. See you soon Detective."

It sucked trying to kill yourself, the thought of second-guessing himself came through Zach's head as he kicked for his life as he started to hang from his ceiling fan in his small apartment. The rope wasn't that good either, not like he could afford it when he was suspended from duty. Watching as the world faded was kinda beautiful but it's not something he wanted to see yet, having cold feet when you're hanging kinda sucks. Zach's phone started exploding with messages, a call even too. Too bad dying was taking priority - well it was until the ceiling fan snapped out of the wall.

The rope broke as well, he hit the floor hard. If only he could stay there, his face stained the grimy tiles of his apartment with a graceful pile of bodily fluid. Mostly blood, but not too much just enough to say "Hey atleast I tried." Getting up from his sad attempt at ending his life, rope and all he dragged his sorry ass to his phone. "Central, now." came the message clear as day, now all he needed to do was peel the rope from his neck.

The police station was busy with men and women, injured lay in agony as some medics both military and civilian worked on them. People were constantly in and out of the new fortress that was the central precinct of Detroit. Guardsmen, policemen both from the state, city and counties fill the precinct over capacity. There was shouting and the smell of blood and bodies flooded the senses of those without nose filters. The usually hospital clean police headquarters was a shell of what it formerly was, just a mess hall of bodies alive and dead. Not like the hospitals had their own problems though.

The meeting room was rather clean itself, it had been untouched by the graces of the outside. Inside sat a couple people, maybe they were known to the team or not but starting on the left sat Julia with her feet up on the table. Beside her was Lieutenant Tyrell of the unit who appeared to be in his best appearance despite the circumstances. He was surrounded by a fort of coffees, apparently, it had not been an easy afternoon. In the middle was the doctor, looking cold and methodical as ever he simply studied his notes he had on the table in front of him. Moore was nowhere to be seen, but in one of the chairs in front of the board, desk was Zach. He sat nonchalantly with a very red neck due to his hanging incident.

It was looking to be a fine afternoon.

Character Name: Paige Liu

Location: About a block from work
Interacting With: Dr. Elsa Niehaus, her fertility doctor

Paige just ordered her favorite hot dog type (everything but relish, bleh) just before entering work however her cell rings and it's her fertility doctor, Dr. Elsa Niehaus. Refusing to let her coworkers find out out her "biological clock issues". She walks back a block and answers. "Hello?" Paige answers clearly worried about the answer seeing it's her fertility doctor. "Miss Liu, this is Dr. Niehaus from Detroit Fertility center as per request we request identification before we reveal your hysteroscopy results. Please state your full name and birthday."

"Paige Marian Liu, P as in Park, M as in Mark and L as in Lou. Marian with two As. Born April 17." Paige quivers as she mutters her name and birthday.

"As of now, you appear to be developing premature ovarian failure. This combined with your smoking will make it hard for you to conceive a child. About 10 percent of women in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There are many support groups if you wish to discuss your condition and several options available should you wish to consider the adoption of a child. Do you wish to have the contact numbers for them?" Dr. Niehaus asked almost like a cyborg... Paige hated cyborgs.

"Not now, please get back to me in a week." Paige says as she hangs up. "Well at least mom and dad got grandkids, sadly they aren't mine and never will apparently." Paige reaches for a cigarette then drops and stomps it as if it was a giant spider. It caused her to miss out on her life, the miracle of birth and motherhood. She walks into work clearly depressed, far more than most of her coworkers have seen her. She sits at her cubicle and starts to make cootie-catchers, regressing to cope with the bad news. After making a couple she goes to the meeting.

Takeo closed the door to the apartment behind him and his eyes swept across the living room of the apartment. It was pretty damn typical of someone who was never in it save for a few special occasions and instead lived his life floating from drug house to drug house, running routes and serving fiends- clean. Everything in the apartment looked sorted and in its right place, and he pursed his lips and nodded appreciatively to himself. A clean apartment certainly did make things easier, especially one with this open of an architecture. The door immediately opened into the living room and he could see into the kitchen standing in the doorway like he was. A hall to his left led to the bedroom and perhaps a bathroom. He looked down next to the door and saw a pair of shoes and a jacket hung up on a rack, still wet from the outside. He closed his eyes, taking in the apartment with his other senses. It was silent, save for the quiet din of a song being played in another room. The sound of sliding and then a thump, a draft brushed past him, an eye towards the windows he could see from where he stood told him they were all shut. A balcony door, then, or perhaps a window in another room?

He took his first steps into the house, quiet as he could make them. Turned left and brought himself to the master bedroom. An ear to the door gave him the same music, a little louder this time, though still muffled. He bent down, rummaging around in the inside pocket of his coat and produced a snake camera. Connecting it to his phone and easing the camera under the door gave him a view of the bedroom, similarly clean like the rest of the apartment, single bed in the corner. Open sliding door to the balcony- and a man standing out on it. He eased the camera from under the door, rolling it back up and putting it back in its place in his pocket. He stood, placed a gloved hand on the door and his other gloved hand reached inside his jean's waist and brought out a nine-millimeter handgun. Twisting the knob slow as slow, he pushed the door open and it creaked. He clenched his teeth, but thankfully the sound of the music had drowned that out. With the much louder sound of the music coming through the cracked door came the smell of burning tobacco. He pushed an errant thought about the invincible big tobacco industry in the age of holograms, electric cars and all things that would make his grandparents wide-eyed.

He finished opening the door wide enough for him to slip through and then closed it again. The man was still on the balcony, completely unaware of Takeo. Good. He reached over to the vintage stereo and his forefinger clicked the stop button. Even though he was facing the other direction, the way the man's shoulders pulled back and he rose from his leaning position on the parapet of the balcony, he was rightly confused. After all, it's not every day you turn around and see a man you knew pointing a gun at you. “Takeo.”

“Johnny.” Takeo nodded, “Just get home?”

“Yeah.” Johnny swallowed hard enough that Takeo could hear it. He was nervous. He couldn't blame him though, he'd had guns in his face before too. Pissed himself the first time, but after having it done to him a few more times, you tend to get used to it.

“Come in and have a seat.” Takeo said. Something about irony, having an unexpected guest invite you into your own home. “It's been a while.”

Johnny took the few tentative steps into his bedroom and sat down on his bed, eyes never leaving Takeo. “It has been a while.”

“I believe the last time you were in town before you up and disappeared was right before Frank Hara's sister overdosed.” Johnny never was good at keeping a poker face. Takeo already knew that Johnny sold Yuki the heroin that'd been stepped on that led to the allergic reaction. It was bad enough that it happened only a week after she'd come back from rehab. And a day after getting into a fight with Johnny's girlfriend. “Frank and I have been talking. He says 'hello'.”

“Oh.” Johnny's eyes flitted over to the bathroom and so did Takeo's. A loaded pistol on the counter.

“If you want.” Takeo said. “Wouldn't make a difference though, asking me.”

“Why are you here?” Johnny asked.

“There's only ever one reason people find themselves staring at a barrel, Johnny. You of all people should know that.” Takeo said, his voice level, “Speaking of, I heard your girlfriend was shot once in the head and twice in the chest. No witnesses, no suspects,” Johnny was fucking squirming at that point, with a laughable anger flashing through his eyes, “No informants. Cold case. Sorry it had to be a closed casket.”

“Are you going to kill me?” Johnny asked, his voice quivering.

“I belong to two gangs, Johnny.” Takeo said, cocking back the hammer on the nine in his hand for effect, “Neither gives a shit about how this goes down. As a matter of fact, however it goes down, everyone's happy and the problem is taken care of. The gang I wear a badge for wants me to bring you into custody, testify in court against you using all the evidence I have on you thanks to Frank Hara, and then throw you the fuck away to rot in jail until someone stabs you to death while you take a shit.” Takeo clucked his tongue, “The other one, though. The other one sends its condolences to your mother. I understand how losing a loved one can make you do some crazy shit to yourself, Johnny.”

“Takeo...”

“It'd be a shame. Taking the easy way out. Jumping off a balcony,” Takeo rose and Johnny whimpered pitifully as Takeo pressed the barrel under his chin, “Shooting yourself. Either way, me and Frank Hara were always in agreement that showing your face in Detroit again would be committing suicide.

“Takeo...”

“I'm not wearing a badge right now, Johnny.” Takeo whispered.

“Take-” Takeo whipped his pistol across Johnny's face once, twice, three times, before hauling him up by his collar, dragging him limp and pleading towards his balcony and hauling all one-hundred and ten pounds of emaciated junkie drug dealer over the side.

Immediately, Takeo left the apartment, not taking the same route out as he came in. In a matter of minutes, he was back out on the streets. Screams were coming from the surely grisly scene of a depressed junkie who'd tragically killed himself over the grief of his girlfriend's death. But he wouldn't know anything about that. He rounded the corner into the alleyway and passed his nine-millimeter to a hooded man who promptly took off at a jog towards the other end of the alley, disappearing around the corner. As for Takeo, he opened his car door and slid into the vehicle. Before he can activate the push-button start, his phone begins to ring. Fucking..., “Hello.”

“Central. Now.

“What's it about, Chief?” Takeo asked.

“Summons, you're being moved.” The Chief answered, shortly.

“What? Why?” Takeo had to admit, after all that in the apartment, this really was a goddamned wrench in the cogs.

“Ask the fucking mayor, dick. You've been volun-told.” The Chief did the impossible and answered even more shortly. “Don't be late.” click

“Fuck.” Takeo sped off towards the Central Precinct. A good amount of badge-flashing and dirty looks at all the hang-ups got him into standing in the doorway of the conference room. He took a breath and opened the door and stepped inside. He looked at the faces and without a word, sat at the table, waiting for whatever the fuck this was to happen.

A heated, soft feeling against her face, a little heavy too. Dorothy Wiesse giggled happily. She forgot she'd come home with a partner. Having spent the evening at a bar getting as toasted as humanly possible to relieve her fears of the next day, she could have very well brought a nice girl home. Was she that messed up last night? To forget something that important?

The universe answered with a resounding 'no' as she opened her eyes to reveal a furry orange ass.

"Dammit, Merlin, you're going to suffocate me one of these times," she said, pushing him off into the sheets. He mewled indignantly and scampered away for the kitchen. Immediately began crying like a starving kitten. "Just hold on."

Rolling out of bed, she checked the projected display on her nightstand. Fuck me, 45 minutes past wake up time. A few unread messages of increasing ugency:
- You're requested at central for a meeting today.
- Report to central.
- REPORT TO CENTRAL. NOW.

Shaking out the remaining tension in her body, she decided to forget the shower and just sprayed on deodorant as well as some vanilla perfume in her raven hair before sliding into work uniform. A vibrating tenseness was still in her bones, probably from the augment that ran down the length of her spine. She hurried through the rest: throw a frozen breakfast burrito into the insta-oven, feed the cat, take the burrito out, stuff it in her face and grab her keycards. She was halfway out the door before she hit herself across the leg. "And I forgot everything I was going to bring!"

A hangover knocked loudly on the inside of her forehead. Back into the apartment it was. Dorothy slid her scoped laser handgun into its holster, dropped a prepaid phone into her shirt pocket. In another pocket went her address book and disposable thumb drives. In another, silver pens hiding her favorite treat. She stared at the pens a little too long, tempted, but did not partake. Grabbing her small suitcase of work documents, she left for real this time, nabbing a taxi ride to the precinct.

This is going to work out, she thought, It's going to be a great adventure. So much to see and do. A lot of fun. A real blast! One for history. I just know it. I know it. Yes. Yep. That's right. Her mind went on a rampage of mindless worry, pounding down her consciousness. Leaning onto the Taxi window, she closed her eyes...They have to train me a little more. Well this is okay I guess. I'll be okay. Maybe. Yeah. Sure I will...

BEEEEP. The honking taxi shook with brakes and Dorothy flew forward, smashing her nose into the front seat. "Owww." It was going to be red.

"We're here, you shitty tipping space case." The bulky man in the front looked back at her, a searing expression on his stubbly dark face. Jonathan Mertz was the nametag. Oh. The guy she didn't tip last time. Terrible luck.

She felt her face strain with both pain and embarrassment as she dug in her shirt pocket for her card. There were tremors in her wrist as she handed it to him. Wasn't it a little suspicious she got the same morning taxi twice? When he gave it back she rolled out of there and up the precinct stairwell with what is best described as the awkwardness of an untrained ballerina. The agility augment was great for sliding around on tip toes...herself not so much.

Once inside, Dorothy was greeted with more than a few disapproving glances as she went to the conference room. She grabbed coffee and sweet cream from the break room on the way but avoided her desk. It was likely best to make up for not being early by at least being on time in the specific location needed. Glancing in a hallway picture glass, she noticed a small bruise on her nose from the taxi. Whatever.

"Good morning," she said without looking anyone there in the eye. She plopped down onto the squeaky rolling chair closest to the far wall- a nice corner where she could see clearly in all directions -- before waiting patiently for an announcement. Or as patiently as someone constantly glancing around, pushing her chair back and forth, creepily staring at everyone else and fidgeting with her communicator in her lap could be considered.

@Mariana Collie

Paige looks at Dorothy in an annoyed way. She would be nicer to her but the crippling phone call before work has sapped any tolerance Paige has for quirks. At the same time, she clearly sees Dorothy as a good distraction from her issues so the rudeness is quickly dissipated. "Good Morning Wiesse. I apologize for my rudeness, I normally am a polite person I just received bad news." She says to Dorothy as she offers one of her cootie catchers as an olive branch. "Any idea why we're called in?" Paige inquires as she pulls out a notebook she took from her desk and is ready to take notes.

Paige also looks over Dorothy's hands notably, looking for a wedding ring. If she's married her husband might have some leads for a guy for me. She thinks. Paige turns to her superiors smiling coquettishly. "Shall we wait for the others or can we get on this case and the others can handle another one?" She queries. "If it's the latter I'm ready Sir."

Tyrell's eyes lit up when people actually started pouring into the room, he checked his datapad and checked off the people present. He was only missing a few but the team that was present was enough to start with. Violently removing the cups from his desk, he looks up to the people who were actually present. "Alright well, I guess I can start the briefing." He says getting up, the others around him seem to be snapping to attention finally. "I'm Lieutenant Tyrell, you've all been called to be apart of a new temporary taskforce. As you could see maybe, the city is going to shit. End of times cults, a resurgence in gangs and anarchy in some places. We've lost contact with the north, the communications up there is spotty."

He sighs rubbing his temples, he then gets up and toggles on the holoprojector in the middle of the floor. It shows a holographic vignette of intense fighting from the southern district. "National Guard are swamped in the shit down on the south side, as you can see the battle isn't getting any better. It's a stalemate, you'd think the Feds would show up and fix this. You thought wrong if you're sitting here, but that's what it is. North and South are our biggest issues, for the Mayor at least - for us. Regardless, what you should focus on is making contact with both districts. That's what I suggest, but if you want to handle it someway else I'm not here to hold your hand."

Tyrell takes a sip of his coffee once more, the bland generic cup reaching his lips before he turned to his co-workers. "Not much else I know, you're boots on the ground and you'll tell us what the what for is in this hell-show. Before I turn you loose, I'll introduce you to the rest of the staff." He points to the geeky looking techie "Detective Fields, she will manage the tech and comms for the operation." Fields give a small, lazy wave to the officers. Tyrell jerks a thumb to the Doctor "The Doctor - Doctor Michaels. He will be monitoring you physically and mentally, any severe signs of trauma and we'll pull you or maybe you'll go upstate to the cyber psycho's ward." The old Lieutenant looks over to where Moore would be sitting "Moore, well I don't know where he is. I'll be here as well for questions and to provide general logistics. If there are any questions ask them now, if not we'll move on."

Lightning strike! A woman just caught her eye, with a bit of an intimidating glare. Beautiful face, this one, something unique in the features, dark eyes and hair. But no time to start blushing like at an all-girl's ward. Dorthy bolted upright in the chair ready to apologize and try to sit still, setting down the phone gently.

"Good Morning Wiesse. I apologize for my rudeness, I normally am a polite person I just received bad news."

She gave her a bit of a side look, odd, someone's mood changing so quickly. Not that Dorthy was any better but she wouldn't admit to it. With some hesitation, she smiled and accepted the cootie catcher. Tips of her fingers twitching, she slowly played with it, reading as if expecting a threat, a bomb or for it to jump at her. "...T-thank you, that's fine," she mumbled.

The woman, Paige, inquired about the nature of the meeting. She shook her head no, her own skin crawling with curiosity. Noticing Paige's notebook, she turned on her phone's recording option. Reliance on digital data over printed could prove to be a setback, yet it was no doubt more reliable than her own distracted mind at taking notes.

@DeadDrop

Tyrell, the bearded Lieutenant, commanded attention. She spun to face him, arms folded but leg beneath the table tapping quietly with a tremor.

When he spoke of and displayed what she had suspected of the city, at once she could be seen shrinking back in her chair and nodding with familiarity. As he described the requirements, she found herself growing more distant. Then he paused for questions.

Good idea to embarrass herself now than to do something wrong on the job. There wasn't supposed to be hand holding...there also wasn't supposed to be a baby rookie whose previous work could be described most politely as 'random shit.' She had an idea of what he meant, but wanted to head off behavior frowned upon ahead of time. "Sir," she paused, looking down, then "When making contact with targets, are we allowed to communicate with citizen, private and official delegations? Must we disclose our intentions before each interaction?"

Yeah, more than a little of her old personal agent way of doing business was leaking through, and she knew how much she had been warned not to take illegal routes from now on. Still she felt it pertinent, trying to look straight at him with an agreeable face.

Character Name: Paige Liu

Location: Meeting Room then Lobby
Interacting With: Dorothy Wiesse every so slightly

Paige takes notes on the perp. This is making her skin crawl and she audibly dry heaves. She suddenly jumps up "I'm sorry." She says as she jogs out of the room patting Dorothy on the head ever so slightly. She stays in the lobby just outside the meeting room. Why is this shaking me all of a sudden? She asks herself. It's not like I can get knocked up and have a kid to protect when all this fighting is happening.. She tries to breathe and slowly gets back into the meeting.

"I am so sorry dear Sir. I just, have had a stressful day." Paige says knowing it's a shitty excuse. "I just need someone I can rely upon. This is clearly an escalation of something. I don't want to charge forward unless needed." She looks at Dorothy sheepishly. Then back at her superior realizing her charming smile won't win back her dignity.

Dorothy, startled from her concentration by a flux of wind and pat on the head, turned to see Paige flee the room. Her questions left unanswered for the moment, she cupped her head in her hands with an uneasy expression and raised shoulders. Was that friendly? Fingers searched through black strands. Did she mean something by it? She didn't feel anything left behind so was it okay? Slowly, she lowered her arms, just as the woman returns to the room.

"I am so sorry dear Sir. I just, have had a stressful day. I just need someone I can rely upon. This is clearly an escalation of something. I don't want to charge forward unless needed."

The intriguing beauty looked at her, again. Dorothy raised her eyebrows. Her heart fluttered with suspicion, yet also some interest. That's it, she definitely wants something from me. I better find out what it is. Pushing back her chair, she stood and moved to Paige's side. Hand on her chest with some mixture of duty and authority, she said: "Sir, please don't forget my earlier questions. Keeping things legal is on my mind. But if it is appropriate, do you think miss Liu could use a detective for a partner? Simple assistant even? It would be an excellent opportunity to reduce her anxieties while providing me somewhat of an experienced tutor to look up to."

Brushing a loose strand of hair back into its low pony, she grins at the woman. Unsure if this is what either of them really wants, unsure of the outcome, and a little surprised at her own boldness despite the paranoia a partner would inevitably bring about.

Tyrell sat down at the table and stroked his beard as he considered his options, chatter was minimal among the detectives and officers present at the briefing. He let out a old tired sigh as his eyes dropped down over the young woman, he looked down at his papers before looking back up at her. "While this is an official operation you should use a degree of discretion when conducting and executing your lawful duties as a peace officer. You can choose to identify yourself or refuse to but if there remember to not cause a fucking scandal for the entire department or your ass will go on ice."

Tyrell cracks his hands as he gestures to Julia Fields. "You all need to speak with Detective Fields before you leave, this is just for a medical caution and for other housekeeping items. I don't care what groups or pairs you go out in, as long as you get your job done and don't die I couldn't care. The Mayor is on my ass and I'm sure you don't want him to be on yours." Julia raises her hand and gives a small friendly wave to the group of policemen & woman as well as flashing a smile just to boot.

Phil woke up in bed, about three minutes before his alarm went off. Usually he was good sleeper, “One of the Best” his wife would joke, but he’d been doing this lately, ever since they put him on leave, really. The head-shrink had had a whole mess a feelings and theories about it, but honestly, Phil figured it was cuz he’d had nothing to sleep for, no long chase to recover from, no case-ending celebration to sleep off, not that he hadn’t had things tire him out, of course, just…it wasn’t the same.

But that was fine, because today was the day. Phil got up, shut off his alarm, kissed his sleeping wife’s forehead, and silently got dressed before creeping downstairs for his secret ritual. He reached the kitchen and his partner-in-crime was waiting for him, weapon in hand, ready for him, he pointed the oblong metal object at Phil
“You’re late”
“You’re early”
The long, silent moment was filled with a million un-saids as the two looked at each other, before losing their self-control and laughing, Phil walked over to sit at the table with his son, tossling his hair as he did, and they ate their cereal together, astray had every morning for the past couple weeks.
“So today’s the day, Huh dad?”
“Yes sirreee, you want a ride to school before I go?”
“Yeah!”
“Alrighty then, get ready”

An hour-ish later, Phil stepped into his new precinct. He recognized some of the faces, though it was hard to focus on anything what with all the chaos and hustle going on. Phil smiled and breathed in the rotten scent of blood, bodies, and steel. Right where he belonged, as he made his way toward the front desk, Phil had to dodge, duck, weave, and avoid a stray fist every half step or so, but to him, it was like riding a bicycle, it all came back once you were on it again.

After Getting the information he needed from the desk lady, a pretty petite blonde thing who was, frankly, a little TOO helpful for Phil’s taste, the thick man moved with what to some was probably surprising agility through the halls until he found it, and slipped in the door and immediately made for the good stuff. and after grabbing a bagel and his Joe, nestled into a seat, letting it all wash over him, and then watching as more people began to slip inside. When Tyrell began speaking Phil paid close attention, He’d heard of Tyrell before but only in stories, and he was looking forward to working under the man. As the young woman, Weisse he thought he’d heard her called, asked her question Phil made a mental note of it, questions like that came from a specific background, she seemed eager enough, still he’d want to keep an eye on her…

Sir Phil spoke up before a mad rush to block the way to Detective Fields could begin Just to be clear, are you really saying our task is to ’clear the shitstorm’ in any way we can and that, short of ending up on the wrong side of Internal Affairs, we’ve got the green-light?

Location: Central Precinct Meeting Room

The time had come for Connor, several months of recovery and a new arm later and he was finally ready to start his new job. Aside from himself and Quentin, everyone was of the belief he accepted the position to further his career. The reality and sole purpose of his decision was to hunt down his former partner using the new investigative units resources. He could have gone solo in his search but why not take advantage of such a plethora of information and equipment. Details of police informants and criminal hangout locations, hacking tools and recon drones, it was all going to come in useful in his search.

As he entered the Central Precinct entrance he was greeted with an abundance of smells that dug deep into his nostrils, so pungent that he could taste them down the back of his throat. The smell of stale blood, vomit and fecal matter was something that was still difficult to get to grips with, even after eight years. He made his way towards the main desk not breaking a stride, using his arms to push people out of his way. At the desk he spoke, "I'm here for the meeting." For most days that would be vague but today there was only one meeting that mattered. Connor's intimidating stare and badge on show made it clear what he was there for. The girl behind the desk pointed in the direction of meeting room, telling Connor he was late. He glared a hole through her, "Look...i'm fifteen minutes late, if that ruins their day then so be it." With that he turned away and walked to the meeting room. He would never have spoken to anyone that way before, but with his life being turned upside down he was still struggling to return to himself.

He entered the room without a knock and looked around the room before finding the superior officer. He focus his glare at them, "Connor Sully reporting for duty." With that he walked to an empty seat out of the way and sat himself down.

"No this isn't some deathsquad shit going on, you do your job and if you go over the line and we find out. You're fucked pal." He says scratching his beard, he looks over to the other guy. "Heh, finally decided to show up? You want your pay docked cus we're pulling shit here anymore, get briefed and get out of here I ain't got time to fucking explain this again shits already up the walls and I don't need loose cannons here fucking about."

With that he started to walk away out of the briefing, leaving the officers and the other detectives at the table in silence. The doctor drummed his pen a bit when Detective Moore walked in with his coffee as well. "Hey yo what's up guys?. He says nonchalantly, he is adorned in just regular street clothes - what appears to be like a gangs outfit of sorts. He is also armed with his Katana from his street gear aswell, he takes a seat where the empty seat was beside the panel of people.

Connor smirked at the disgruntled comment, he couldn't care less about his pay. The amount he received for his injury had effectively set him up for life, there was only one reason he was back. The smirk that adorned his face was far from the person he used to be, having been a model officer. He was always on time, completed all his paperwork and did everything by the book. If his former captain saw him he wouldn't know the person in front of him.

His eyes scanned the others in the room before landing upon the other man who just had abuse thrown in their direction. He donned a hat that cast a shadow over his eyes, matched to the stereotypical long coat detectives wear. The thought made him laugh to himself, not as a slight to anyone who wears them but the fact that it is almost a dead giveaway to your occupation. He had known people guilty of it in the past and they found information gathering difficult, especially in places with a large criminal element.

As he finished laughing to himself someone else entered the room, a tall man whose attire was...interesting. Ignoring his attire, a sword hung from his body, pulling Connor's attention away from his clothing. A sword was most certainly an interesting choice in a world with the proliferance of projectile weaponry. However with tight corridors and crowded streets, it would be entirely possible to close the distance on a target without taking a bullet. When the man spoke it was with a noticeable street twang, giving away he wasn't your typical detective. Either way, Connor looked around the room once more before deciding to speak up.

"Look, i'm all for introductions and what not but this is my first day back after my accident." Connor raised his right arm, pointing at it with his left arm. He continued, his bass filled voice contradictary to his words by how calm he was. "How about you guys tell me what you need done and i'll go do it?" Lowering his arm he scanned the room once more, judging peoples reactiongs to his outburst. He decided to change his approach, humanising himself from the somewhat soulless first impression he was giving the room.

"Honestly, this isn't a big man act. I just need to get back out there, I have been going stir crazy." He felt like the change would help him get his way, even if he would need to leave his comfort zone. The sooner he was back in the field, the sooner he would get his hands on Tarkov. "I just want to get my first collar done and then i'm up for introductions. First round at Meafords will be on me."

Phil held up his hands in mock surrender, damn, though he supposed that he had has his question answered, he knew the rules now, He hadn't intended to do any "Deathsquad shit" as it had been put, but frankly this whole thing had been a little too "black-ops" when explained to him, still he was glad he knew where he stood. Phil adjusted his hat a bit with his right hand, and jerked around a bit with his left, he just couldn't get comfortable with this thing, no matter which way he turned or shifted.

Reaching out to take another sip of his coffee, Phil used the moment that Moore walked into the room to size up the late-comer who'd also gotten chewed out, difference was that his had happened the moment he had walked in the door, enough to put anyone off their game. What was strange was that it barely seemed to phase the new guy, Phil smirked at that, he liked someone with a little backbone. The guy was tall, thin facial hair, the type you'd see in an old pirate movie or summat, short nondescript hair, but otherwise built pretty well, hard but kind features, like a Preacher givin some stern advice to a somewhat mischievous youngster. That didn't mean the man didn't know what he was doing, in fact in Phil's experience, the more someone looked like you could underestimate, the more dangerous it was to do so. The way he talked, and the way his arm clinked, Phil figure'd they probably had sumthin' in common. But it was then that the man made his speech, so his thoughts were cut off as he listened.

Phil listened, and then laughed, this guy sure was something. What exactly he was Phil wasn’t sure, but whatever it was that he was, Phil liked it. Phil kicked the chair next to him in front of the speaker, a clear invitation to sit down, “Buddy a mine’s up north and got a lead that might be right up your alley, friend” Phil added calmly.

Moore made a gesture to the Captain who just left. "Yea that fucker, haha don't take it seriously man.. The guy is going to get fucked in the ass by the mayor if we don't set shit straight." He looks over to the group of Detectives that sat and stood before him as he took a seat at the head of the table. "Yea man it's simple simple like, city is fucked by unknown circumstances. Unfuck it, easy?" He chuckles to himself as he checks his PDA, the shrink remains rather silent as this happens aswell. Julia looks down at her deck and then back up to the group before yawning.

The briefing room is rather quiet for a bit while the outside - the hallways start to get louder. Julia cleared her throat and began to speak up. "Yea uh, gotta stick some shit in your spines and you can go if you want or not. I'll be back here at central all the time." She said, paying half attention to the group of detectives as she looked down at her Sovdeck. Doctor Michaels finally looks up from his coffee and gestures to the two men. "We're going to be - I'm going to be monitoring your stress levels. Any signs of cyber psychosis and you are going to be meat in the body bank gentlemen."

Things weren't looking too good.

"Yes sir, understood." Dorothy listened to Tyrell in full eye contact, mouth a straight line. As he dismissed her questions with the most general advice, she tried to remind herself it wasn't her first day in diapers or anything. She had been on the force before. So, she would simply need to use her judgement from now on.

He left, gesturing to Fields, and with him went some of her chill. She downed the rest of her coffee in two gulps and set it down, pushing back her chair anxiously awaiting the job. That excitement was short-lived as two late comers blocked her doorway of escape. One seemed to be calm, inquisitive, but slightly frothing at the mouth for doing whatever it takes to get the job done. The other carried himself with a brisk air, glaring and introducing himself bluntly.

Another detective showed up late. This one looked pretty damn ballsy, street clothes and eccentric taste in weapon right out in the open. Tingle. Dorothy's spine started to itch like hell, it was all she could do not to convulse. Instead, she guided a shaky hand back there and pressed into the spot, right at the bottom, where the augment came together. After a wave of rigidity, everything felt fine.

"I just want to get my first collar done and then I'm up for introductions. First round at Meafords will be on me."

“Buddy a mine’s up north and got a lead that might be right up your alley, friend."

She tuned back in at this, having a moment in her mind that resembled memory loss. What was she doing just a moment ago? It seemed like she was talking to someone else...another woman? But no, she couldn't have been. These new comers, however, were on top of their game to be sure. She rolled her chair a little closer. Now's not the time to hold back her own ballsiness. "Any chance this girl can get in on this?" she asks, pointing at herself.

"Yea uh, gotta stick some shit in your spines and you can go if you want or not. I'll be back here at central all the time. We're going to be - I'm going to be monitoring your stress levels. Any signs of cyber psychosis and you are going to be meat in the body bank gentlemen."

Not really listening to that end of the room- though she should be -Dorothy only perked up at the word 'spine,' her head snapping in the direction of Field's voice as if her name had been shouted. Thinking of the implications of sticking more shit in her spine, her future as a possible psycho, it was enough to make her think her career choice over for the 10,000 time. Biting her lip, she curled her fists in her lap and turned back to the guys. Ending in psychosis for me? Ah, it doesn't really matter...I'm here because I want to be, I'm here until I no longer feel that rush...Meat? So be it. It is clear to her through racing thoughts she will need a shot of adrenaline very shortly. As soon as she leaves the building, if able.

"Any chance this girl can get in on this?"

Phil turned to address the newcomer, he'd seen her when he walked in, she looked like she would be all bark and no bite, and Phil's first thought was no, definitely not after what happened last time, he could still smell the blood and steel in his nostrils, and Phil was about to say as much, but then he took a closer look. Upon close inspection Phil could tell that there was definitely something more to this woman, the muscle was hidden under a thin layer of flab, but there was something more there. Grit maybe? Determination? neither of those was exactly it, but whatever it was, Phil recognized a little bit of it, but even more than that Phil knew he'd want it at his back when the shit hit the hammer.

"All's welcome that want in, the more the merrier" Phil chucked, hiding his trepidation as much as he could as he introduced himself to the two around him "Phil Morgan, pleasure to meetchya"

"Yea, uh, gotta stick some shit in your spines and you can go if you want or not. I'll be back here at central all the time. We're going to be - I'm going to be monitoring your stress levels. Any signs of cyber psychosis and you are going to be meat in the body bank gentlemen."

"Shall we get ourselves figgur'd and then meet outside in twenty?" Phil finished as he stood up and headed over to get the blasted injection over with.

As Phil walked, he clenched his good hand and took a deep breath at the thought of Cyber Psychosis, he looked down and flexed the fingers of his new arm, he just couldn't get used to it, he was at risk for it now after all, after all... Still, making sure that psychosis DIDN'T happen was probably a good idea, even if he couldn't shake the feeling that this was some bad juju. He took another deep breath, steeling himself as he approached the front of the line to Fields.

Connor turned to the guy who was talking to him, his name eventually being revealed to be Phil. Upon rejoining Connor had little to no intention on spending any time trying to solve cases with anyone else but if this guy had leads then it was as good a place to start. "I guess it couldn't hurt." He tried to hide the displeasure of having to spend time with someone he had no interest in being around, it was all about his end game. As began to turn his attention to the rest of the room a women spoke up, asking if she could come along. He looked her over and while his head told him to tell her no, "Yes sure...", is what slipped from his mouth. He decided to just roll with it and keep the charade going. "I guess it couldn't hurt to have the three of us together seeing as we'll be working together." Phil soon introduced himself with Connor doing likewise, "Connor Sully...call me by either it doesn't matter."

Soon after a doctor began to speak about spinal injections, but the amount of injections and procedures Connor had to have when he had his artificial arm fitted meant he didn't bat an eyelid. The talk of cyber-psychosis didn't bother him either, he had only ever had experience of it on the street with people who were more machine than man. He just had to keep himself focussed on his goal and the risk of losing his mind would be minute.

He looked as Phil suggested meeting outside before getting to his feet and moving to have his injection. "No point hanging around here." Sully got to his feet and turned to the woman who had asked to go with them, she seemed to be deep in thought or atleast lost in her own head. "Hey lady...sorry I don't know your name but do you want to get this shot now? Sooner it's done the sooner we can get going?" He joined the queue behind Phil waiting on her response.

Julia left her feet up on the table, she let out a small yawn as she saw the small queue show up before her. She looked up to the small group and put her Sovdeck away. She took a case from under the table, it seemed to be the size of toolbox. She opened it with a thumbprint and within her view, pulled out a small one-foot pole and various chips and technical doo-datz mijiggers spazzers and what have you. A few moments later and its buzzing to life, whirrling in all its glory.

"So yea, hole in your head. Chip in your head, reads your vitals and stuff. There is other stuff, but the main thing is vitals."

She says, The doctor looks down at his own phone before looking back up at the men and the other staff. "I'll be in my office if you need me, you all will have my comm contact information." The Doctor got up and left the room with just Moore and Fields left in the room still. Julia stands up and stretches with the device. Looking over the three officers she shoots them a joyful smile.

"So, who's first?"
