Usagi Tsukino is just your average 14 year old girl who likes to eat, sleep, and play video games when she's not hanging out with her friends. Now preparing for high school, Usagi has to juggle even harder school work and friends as well, and this is all made even harder by the fact that Usagi has been starting to look at her peers... a lot differently than before. Like, in a romantic crush sort of way. Particularly, she's been focusing on a classmate... but there's a problem. This classmate isn't just some boy she's noticed... it's actually a girl.

Now, this sort of thing was basically unheard of in Usagi's world. A girl liking another girl? That was just silly and yet here Usagi was in her class sneaking peeks at this other girl who she thought was really pretty and smart and perfect and... wait, what was she thinking??? Usagi had to cut this thinking out before she ended up really going off the deep end with this... but how? How could she deal with this sort of thing by herself? Maybe she just needed to keep this other girl out of her mind. That would work! But no matter how hard she tried doing that, it didn't actually end up working. In fact, it might have actually made the thinking about her classmate a lot worse.

Then she tried thinking up the meanest things about this other girl to try and get herself to knock it off, but that didn't help either because she couldn't think mean things about a person whom she barely knew, much less had an apparent crush on. So in the end, Usagi felt hopeless, embarrassed, and honestly ashamed about what she was feeling. There was no getting rid of it, it seemed. Usagi was just doomed to be the weird girl who happened to like other girls and that was just how it was going to have to be... unless she grew out of it, but that seemed like it wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

At some point, though, Usagi thought that maybe she had come up with another solution to this problem. It seemed that avoidance tactics weren't working so maybe trying to be friends with this other girl might help her out a bit. Yeah, because if she was friends with her, then maybe this crush would go away and she would be content with just being friends. What an excellent idea, and she had thought of it all on her own. Usagi felt so smart for doing that.

So, during lunchtime on one particular day, Usagi decided to use some of her courage to take her lunch tray and approach her classmate's table with it. With her heart beating at what felt like a thousand miles an hour, Usagi asked the girl,"P-Pardon me but is this seat taken?"

"If I catch you leaving campus again, I will not hesitate to write you up. Maybe I'll even give you detention." Detention

The word echoed in Elisabeth's head as she sat at lunch, picking at the sandwich she had made herself in the morning. She had missed early morning class due to being in the principal's office, a visit she had originally thought would be some standard congratulations for kicking butt on the soccer team. And while the visit had started out as such, it quickly took a turn for the worst when the principal brought up camera footage of her jumping the school yard fence during lunch. Never before had Elise truly felt her heart drop, watching the very clear image of herself. She had immediately thought the worst, figuring she would expelled, suspending, or even worse, arrested. She could only imagine the look on her father's face as she came home with such news. He'd probably be disappointed more than anything. She'd never seen him angry, or even raise his voice. The disappointment is something she tried her hardest to avoid at all costs, knowing it would break her own heart to see her father's broken in such a way.

Much to her relief though, she had been overreacting. She got off without so much as a write up, receiving only a warning to not do it again. The principal had told her it was because of her spotless record and her being the star of the soccer team, the latter of which left Elisabeth feeling guilty. Sure she was thankful of being let off easy, but it didn't seem fair that she got off easy for something so trivial as being good at sports. Then again, she knew better than to argue the fact. She had simply nodded and said thanked him, taking full advantage of his good graces. At least her father wouldn't find out she had been cutting classes.

And so as Elise sat lost in thought, it took her a moment to realize that she had been spoke to. She slowly picked up her head, eyebrow raised. Her brows furrowed as she eyed up the blonde, taking note of the way her eyes darted around the lunch room. She was nervous to be speaking to Elise, or maybe something else was on her mind? Either way, it wasn't any of Elise's business.

"Er... No. The seats not taken," she says nonchalantly with a shrug.

"Ah, okay then. I'll just sit here then. You know, cuz there's nowhere else to sit." Usagi said, knowing full well that there were other places to sit, but choosing to use that as an excuse anyways to try and not seem like some sort of weirdo.

She quietly took her seat and started to eat her lunch slowly. She was thinking of something else to say so as to not seem boring or uninteresting. That's when she noticed that Elisabeth was picking at her food rather than eating it. Thinking this would be appropriate lunchtime conversation, she asked curiously, "Are you not feeling very hungry today?"

Elise doesn't respond at first, pushing the sandwich away with a shrug. While she didn't look particularly down, it wasn't hard to tell she didn't seem like the usual cheery soccer captain that most people saw her as. Why was she letting something so silly as a detention get to her? She could already imagine how much she would be made fun of for it, nor did she really have anyone to really talk to about it. The truth was, the detention didn't bother her, but it was the feeling of being trapped. Of being forced to just sit in the lunch room and unable to go off and explore as she normally did. It was that pent up energy that caused her foot to tap like rapid fire, the reason why she felt so anxious right now. But she was getting carried away with herself. Overthinking as usual.

Normally, she wouldn't even respond to someone who asked to sit by her, usually opting to ignore them until they left her alone. Then again, most people that came to her usually asked for a date or tried to start some fight with her. Whether it was the need for something new, or the welcoming of such an innocent question that made her feel the need to respond, she couldn't quite tell.

"I'm not really hungry. Usually I make a pretty good sandwich, but I didn't quite nail it this morning you know?"

Usagi looked at Elise with slightly concerned eyes. Surely it couldn't have been her sandwich making skills that were causing her to pick at her food like that. Most people would just throw the whole sandwich away and get something else to eat. Then again, maybe this girl was telling the truth and simply didn't have any money to pay for something else to eat.

"Really? Well that's too bad... Want some of my lunch instead?" She offered, moving her tray over to Elise. "Today they're serving rice, beef curry, and steamed vegetables. I also brought some pork dumplings from home in case today's lunch wasn't going to be that good, so you can take your pick from any one of those." She flashed her a small smile just to appear that much more friendly. Hopefully she wasn't laying it on too thick. She just wanted to be nice.
