Personality: Kurone's personality betrays her graceful and innocent appearance. She's selfish, arrogant and flat out one of the rudest people you'll ever meet... Kurone isn't above foul play and delights in taking advantage of others. To sum up her personality as simply nasty is an injustice. She's a horrible person. The type of person that makes you doubt in humanity. Her only saving grace is she has a soft spot for people with 'genuine' personalities and has gotten into rather serious trouble several times due to it. Otherwise, Kurone is the meanest baddest foul mouthed bitch and almost all of her peers avoid her like the plague, which suits her fine because she's extremely picky about her company.
Background: work in progressssssssssssssssss
Elemental Affinity: Yin Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Origin:Oblivion Magic Circuits: 30 Class A Magic Circuits Magecraft: Expert Houjutsu practitioner. While well versed in divinion as well, Kurone excels in curses and shikigami manipulation. Other Abilities: She's into gardening.
Mystic Codes/ Magical Items:Midnight. A black cloak that Kurone dons at all times. Bestowed upon her clan centuries ago by Tsukiyomi, Midnight is a legendary defensive item possessing a myriad of abilities. The most significant one being it's ability to absorb magical attacks fired at Kurone, converting the magical energy into yin energy and storing it within itself for later use by Kurone. While Kurone is already considered first-rate mage, it is Midnight's ability to augment and elevate her yin powers into a whole other class that separates her from the rest. Midnight has the ability to erase her presence when needs to plan an ambush or a quick get-away. It does act as a form of armor against physical attacks, reducing damage but it's defensive capabilities are more geared towards magical defense. The wearer gains resistance to mind control and other ailements as well as having their physical abilities boosted. However, Midnight is not all-powerful. Using Midnight excessively eats at the wearers soul, shortening their lifespan. This is in addition to the physical and mental backlash it causes. Kurone has been rendered immobile for extended periods of times before due to abusing Midnight's powers.
Weapons/Other Belongings: Shikigami, Ofuda, the typical Omyouji fanfare.
Wish/Reason for Being in the War: To bring her daughter back to life.
I don't usually post works in progress, but since nobody has posted a Servant yet I guess I'll be the first.
It's just his stats and skills right now for the most part, plus his Noble Phantasm. Let me know if he looks too powerful/not powerful enough and I'll make some changes.
Appearance:
True Name: Ajax Son of Telamon Aliases: Ajax the Great, Ajax the Greater, Telamonian Ajax Class: Shielder Gender: Male Height: 7’ 1” Weight: 309lbs Alignment: Lawful Neutral Wish for the Grail: WIP
Personality: WIP
Background: WIP
Stats: Strength – A Endurance – A Agility – B Magical Power – C Luck – D Noble Phantasm – A
Class Skills: Name – Self-defence Shield Rank – A Description – A class skill of the Shielder class that exhibits its power when protecting allies or an allied camp. Does not provide complete protection but instead extends a damage reducing power to all allies or allied fortifications in its range. Ajax himself is not included as a target.
Known for his large shield and defensive abilities, during the Trojan War it was often Ajax’s role to cover the retreat of his Achaean allies, holding back the enemy to give them time to escape the battlefield should their attack falter. He held back the Trojan armies many times during the war, often while greatly outnumbers, such as in his defence of the beached Achaean ships and assisting in the retrieval of Patroclus’ body.
At its current rank this skill would allow Ajax to protect the entire front line of Achaean warriors as they fought.
Name – Magic Resistance Rank – C Description – Though he lived in a time period where magic still held its ancient power and Gods routinely meddled in the affairs of men, Ajax did not encounter many mages during his life or even during the Trojan War and as such his magic resistance is low.
Personal Skills: Name – Combination Rank – D (With Ajax the Lesser)/ C (With Teucer) Description – Ajax fought alongside many great warriors during the Trojan, but his alliances with two in particular are noteworthy.
Ajax often fought alongside Ajax the Lesser, and together both Ajax’s where known as the Aiantes; together they held off the Trojan soldiers allow time for Meriones and Menelaus carry the body of Patroclus from the battlefield after his death.
It was also common for Ajax to be seen fighting alongside his half-brother Teucer. Ajax would use his magnificent shield to cover both of their bodies while Teucer fired arrows from his bow into the ranks of the Trojan army.
Name – Instinct Rank – B Description – The ability to instantly identify “the best personal course of action” during combat. Because this Skill allows for the prediction of trajectory, it is possible to avoid attacks from firearms.
Well versed in the ways of war and known for having a very high level of combat intelligence, Ajax possesses great instinct for battle that allowed him to avoid injury during the Trojan War despite being involved in many battles and even duels against other great heroes such as Hector.
Name – Knowledge of Melees Rank – A Description – This skill is a methodology regarding crowd-combat in which friends and foes are all jumbled together. Not the ability to take command of a military force, but combat techniques to persevere as a single warrior within the troops of an army.
Ajax often found himself on the front lines of battles, where it is difficult to discern friends from foe, or forced to face the enemy force alone. He is well familiar with battles of many against many and one against all.
Name – Robust Health Rank – C Description – a Skill that are made up of anecdotes of "not receiving a wound on the battlefield" and "never becoming sick even once since birth". It is also a composite Skill and includes Poison Resistance. Ajax’s END stat is boosted by one rank and would be a B otherwise.
Ajax received no injuries during the battles described in the Iliad, a fact that was equally attributed to his great skill as a warrior and also his large and powerful body.
Name – Shield of Rousing Resolution Rank – A Description – A Skill that temporarily raises one's own defensive power and draws in an opponent's attack. It is only bestowed upon those who muster their courage and protect the back of those who egress before anyone else.
While others attacked Ajax could often be found covering his allies retreat from the battlefield. He protected his allies as they retrieved the body of his fallen compatriot and often stood guard before his half-brother as he fired his bow; Ajax is not afraid to place himself in before his allies to protect them.
Combat Capabilities: Ajax’s fighting style is built around the proper utilisation of his oversized shield, using it to completely protect his body and neutralise his opponent’s offense while also seeking an opportunity to attack. Alongside his shield Ajax wields a colossal spear, which he uses in conjunction with his shield to pressure the opponent by using its long reach to threaten them from beyond the range of their own weapons while remaining protected.
When defence must be sacrificed for offense, Ajax will move his shield to his back and wield his spear in two hands and fight much more aggressively, using long ranged thrusts and wide sweeping swings to overwhelm those who oppose him.
Noble Phantasm: Name – Rho Aias: Seven Rings that Cover the Fiery Heavens Rank – A Type – Bounded Field/Conceptual Weapon Range – N/A Maximum Target – N/A
Description – The shield wielded by Ajax the Great during the Trojan War. It was a 1 and a half meter wide bronze shield covered in seven layers of ox hide over a layer of bronze that was the only defence capable of stopping Hector’s famed spear. Its existence was sublimated into a Conceptual Weapon that is said to be an absolute defence against any thrown weapon.
In its greatest form, it is said to be seven flower petals made from light. It takes the form of a seven layered Bounded Field in the shape of an iridescent flower in reference to the rocket larkspur (Consolida ajacis) flower that bloomed from Ajax' blood as he died, with seven petals representing the seven layers of ox hide. Each flower petal layer has the defensive power of a fortress wall.
It is necessary for its user to provide constant magical energy to form the shield, and if it is damaged, they will feel pain and receive damage in accordance.
So, I started developing this character before I knew Arjuna was actually in one of the games. But I decided to go full steam ahead anyway. My original idea was Charred Body, from several native american myths. But I couldn't find anything really interesting on him that inspired me to push forward.
For obvious reasons, I may end up cutting down on Arjuna's power, since her two big noble phantasms are of the variety of "NO COUNTER ONLY DEATH NEVER MISS" special moves. I figured I'd wait till some more Servants went up so I could balance around that, but I'll balance in post.
Servant CS
True Name: Arjuna Aliases: Always wins in war, Triumphant, One who brings prosperity and wealth in the land where she goes to. Class: Archer Gender: Female Height: 6'0 Weight: 125lbs Alignment: Lawful Wish for the Grail: Arjuna's wish is to face the challenge of reaching heaven once more. A trip that killed her the first time, and one that she refuses to accept as her final fight.
Personality: Pride. Pride in ones skills from success after success plagues Arjuna. Considered once upon a time to be the pride of her kingdom, and the middle child of five siblings. She was never 2nd best, and her pride stems from all this. This pride taints all that Arjuna is, and she defies destiny and fate often. When faced against a superior opponent, albiet rare, Arjuna has not shied away from cheating or underhanded tactics to even the odds. Arjuna's tendency to cheat is a prime example of how she views the world. Merely as a string of opportunities to benefit her. From there, her power comes in taking advantage of each opportunity. Amongst people, Arjuna is fairly polite. But possessing a sharp tongue and intolerance for mockery. Often times she will find her worthy opponent, and focus most if not all of her effort into overwhelming, or defeating that worthy opponent. If she finds nothing of the sort, she will be quickly bored by the exchanges. And a bored Arjuna may be the hardest for a Master to control, since she isn't nearly as reliant on her Master as other Servants often are.
Background: Long ago, there was a god named Indra, and a queen of a far off Kingdom. She was gifted with the ability to summon gods, so that she could sleep with them, and give birth to powerful children. On the third time she did this, she summoned the highest of gods, Indra. Who brought rain and life. This child, as some stories will claim was a son by the name of Arjuna. This is false. For Arjuna was a daughter, and far more powerful than many would claim. The middle child of 5 siblings, they often played together. Until one day they lost their ball to a well, and while her brothers gave the ball up for lost, Arjuna did not. As she attempted to pull the ball out of the well, a stranger arrived, and pulled it out with a magical chain. This man became her teacher, and he was the great hero Drona.
Drona trained all five of the royal children, but he took great interest in Arjuna, who proved to be the greatest of them. Archery was considered the most holy of skills, and Arjuna took to it naturally. Her skill was beloved by even the gods, who would watch as she trained. But her childhood would not last, as her eldest sibling fell prey to the greatest of tragedies. Gambling.
Arjuna's eldest siblings was conned into a gambling game. In which he offered away all of his gold, his weapons, his kingdom, and the freedom of his siblings. Instead of being a slave, a deal was struck where Arjuna and her siblings would go into exile for thirteen years, and eventually return to become rulers of their kingdom. During those thirteen years, Arjuna became a legend. She fought the god Shiva, and became master of all Astras (Holy Weapons.) Then alongside Agni, she burned a forest, and was gifted the bow Gandiva, a chariot, and a set of inexhaustible quivers. And later, with the Pashupatastra after studying with Lord Shiva.
Eventually it became time to return to her kingdom, but she was met with Karna. Karna and his siblings refused to return the throne to Arjuna's family, and a great war was waged. Arjuna arrived on the field in a chariot, and Karna the same. Both wielding powerful gifts from the gods, and weapons of their own design. The duels between them took many lives, and Arjuna finally met with Karna for a final battle. Karna's wheel broke in the middle of the fight, causing his chariot to crash. Pleading with Arjuna to give him time to fix his wheel, he set to work on it. But... Their battle was not evenly matched. For Karna had been given far more powerful gifts than Arjuna, and the harsh battle would soon turn against her. While Karna fixed his wheel, Arjuna lined up her shot, and pierced his heart with a single arrow. With Karna dead, Arjuna went on to rule her kingdom for many years. Until finally, in pilgrimage to the land of the gods, she left with her siblings.
Arjuna's confidence was her downfall. So sure of her strength, she ended up succumbing to the bitter cold and died on the way to heaven. Unable to reach heaven, she was filled with a great grief. Until the day of the Holy Grail War, and she was summoned.
Stats: Strength: C Endurance: D Agility: B Magical Energy: B Luck: C Noble Phantasm: A+
Class Skills: - Independent Action A+: Arjuna can act independently from her master for long periods of time. To an extent where once summoned, she only needs her Master around for the magical supply needed to use her Noble Phantasms. Even then, only the higher rank ones. - Magic Resistance C: Basic magical attacks have lesser effects on Arjuna. - Riding C: Arjuna rides primarily upon her chariot, but maintains little control of it otherwise. This skill merely allows her to continue to fight unhindered no matter how bumpy the road may be.
Personal Skills: - She Who Has Bested Sleep C: Arjuna has faced sleep, and has won in battle. As such, her stamina is endless and she will never need to rest. Thus inexhaustible, she will fight for days or even years without need to stop. - Divinity B+: Arjuna is the child of Indra, and thus is divine. Against other divines she shows an increased resistance to those of lesser divinity. Against those with no Divinity, she deals extra damage, but shows no improved resistance. - Weapon Mastery C+: Trained in all of the celestial weapons by Shiva, Arjuna has a mastery of all forms of combat and weaponry. But prefers her traditional bow and arrow. - Collector C: Arjuna possesses a great deal of treasures and Astras. Gifts from gods, allies, and enemies. She continued to collect well into life, and up to her demise. - Ambidexterous D: Arjuna can shoot from either hand, allowing for just a tad more dexterity in combat.
Combat Capabilities: As the archer class, Arjuna uses a bow almost exclusively. Often utilizing her noble phantasms to keep on the move, she is primarily a long range combatant who fights from her chariot. Used to fighting armies and even the great Karna, Arjuna seems to never tire, and can fight for extended periods of time and never rest. Arjuna's reliance on range makes close range combat difficult. Relying on her noble phantasms to cover that weakness, or simply relying on a sheer output of arrows and phantasms to counter any obvious movements or unwanted approaches.
Noble Phantasms:
Name: Pashupatastra Rank: A+ Type: Anti-Creation Description: The Pashupatastra is a gift from Shiva. A weapon to be fired from the mind, eyes, or bow. It is capable of destroying all things, and there is nothing that can stop that. It is a perfect, instant killing attack. If you are struck, you are dead. But the weapon is to be used against great foes. Lesser men or meaningless tasks that do not require this weapon are meaningless. As such, the Pashupatastra can only be used against other Servants, or those of incredible power. To use this against anything lesser would do nothing, as the weapon sees the worth of those it is used against, and refuses to work against those of little value. The attack itself is fairly obvious. Making it nearly useless for stealth. But once fired from the bow, it travels instantly from point A to point B. Making it the ultimate long range attack.
Name: Brahmashira Astra Rank: A+ Type: Anti-Fortress Description: It begins with the mantra, and then the skies darken. The sky then explodes with thunder that rumbles the earth and shatters stone. From the tip of an arrow appears the four faces of Brahma, and whatever the arrows hits is destroyed. No rain shall fall for 12 years, and no blade of grass will grow for that same time. Metal and earth become poisoned, and all who traverse there shall fall ill. This is Arjuna's gift, and unlike the Pashupatastra it does not require a holy purpose. It will never miss its mark, and the user must focus on their target and task. Any distraction may result in their failure with this technique. It can be used only once in a lifetime, and as a result can be used only once during the Grail War. As a result, it is the most powerful and risky of Arjuna's techniques. It is said that only thing that can counter the Brahmashira Astra is another noble phantasm of equal destructive power.
Name: Indraastra Rank: B Type: Anti-Army Description: A shower of arrows are summoned forth from the sky. Liked to rain, there is little that can hope to avoid a shower of arrows, due to the sheer spread of this powerful noble phantasm. This was taught to Arjuna by her father, the great Indra and while nowhere near the most powerful Noble Phantasm, is designed for countering an army, and turning the tide of any war.
Name: Celestial Chariot Rank: C Type: Fortress Description: While not a literal fortress like many others, the Chariot of Hanuman and Krishna was gifted to Arjuna. Upon it, Arjuna can ride through a battle, attacking enemies from the sheltered defense it provides. It is said that this chariot carries the weight of the world, and cannot be forced of its course by normal means. Through this chariot, Arjuna does not need to move, but rather can focus entirely on her target.
Name: Gandiva Rank: B+ Type: Anti-Unit Description: Gandiva is the legendary bow wielded by Arjuna. Gifted to her by Agni after clearing a forest for him, this bow is considered the most powerful of all. With 108 strings, it is said to increase the power of a single shot by over 1000 times, and shines brightly like the sun each time it is fired. It is considered one of the greatest weapons ever crafted, and each time a string is pulled it lets out a deep rumble like thunder. The bow itself is said to be divine, and thus invincible. Along with Gandiva, Arjuna carries two quivers, that will never run dry of arrows as blessed by the great god Agni. Through this bow, Arjuna can rapid fire arrows using the 108 strings and her inexhaustible supply of arrows. The rate at which was once recorded as five hundred arrows a minute. As a weapon once wielded by Vishnu, Shiva, and many other great warriors of legend, it can be difficult to pin it specifically to Arjuna. But as Arjuna is one of the greatest to ever wield it, it shines brightest in her hands.
Name: Sabda-veda astra Rank: E Type: Anti-Thaumaturgy Description: A fairly simple charm, in the shape of a bell. When rung, it denies all stealth, revealing hidden enemies. Its clear purpose is to deny others the chance to hide from Arjuna's sight, and was a gift from Krishna. Arjuna and Krishna are the only people who know of the bell's existence.
Name: Jyotiksha Astra Rank: E Type: Anti-Sight Description: The Jyotiksha Astra is a fairly simple noble phantasm. Its use is that it is a mask, and when worn shines like the sun. All who look upon it are temporarily blinded, making them easy prey for Arjuna.
Name: Agneya astra Rank: A Type: Anti-Army Description: A holy fire contained in an arrow. This arrow releases a torrent of flames blessed by the god Agni, and were inexhaustible by normal means. The flames burning force is connected to Arjuna's mana supply, and is exhausted when Arjuna chooses to cease the flow of energy. Unless stopped, the flames will continue to burn, putting a tax on Arjuna's Mana supply over time.
Name: Sammohana Astra Rank: D Type: Anti-Army Description: Less of an offensive Noble Phantasm, and more of a support item. Used to quell those of lesser wills, it can send the unexpected into a trance. This Astra does not harm, but instead can quell an army long enough for them to be bypassed.
If Arjuna ends up not working, I have a second character plotted.
So my opinion means practically nothing but I'll say it anyway. Having looked at Arjuna, I think she looks awesome but I will say one thing against her. That is a ridiculous number of Noble Phantasms.
Most servants only have 1 or 2 and even having 3 is seen as really special; Astolfo has 5 and that's seen as a very exceptional case. The version from the game only has 2, Pashupatastra and Gandiva, so I'd suggest paring it down to these two, Brahmashira and maybe the chariot at most.
Other than that it looks fine, though divinity should be a class skill. Your stats are actually lower than the Fate version and the Noble phantasms aren't too bad, though two instant kills are a bit much; maybe look at the Fate version of Pashupatastra for ideas on how to balance it a bit.
Keep in mind that she'll probably be the Gilgamesh/Karna of this war.
Ha, probably. I tried cutting it down to a few ones that seemed the most viable. I overdid it a little because the wiki talked about how the archer class had the most NPs.
I'll simplify a few.
My other idea is making Ravana, so depending I may try that too see what people like more.

Sooo... can we make a master that fights on par with servants? I remember that teacher in fate ubw who was boosted by caster and almost killed saber 1v1. Or even kid Emiya could 1v1 servants.

God, no. Obviously I'm not the GM, but barring some very, very special circumstances Masters just aren't anywhere near the same level as a Servant. Servants are powerful enough that outside of specialized circumstances like Grail Wars, a Master shouldn't even be able to summon one.
Master vs Master combat is one thing, but a Master vs a Servant is just going to get wrecked if they actually try to fight.

Kuzuki was able to fight Saber mainly because of Caster’s aide, but also because he caught Saber by surprise. Without Caster, he wouldn’t have been able to take her on.
In Shirou’s case, it was because of Unlimited Blade Works being a hard counter to Gilgamesh along with Shirou really catching him off guard. Really, it’s Anime Protagonist Syndrome at its finest, if we have to go that far.
From the Wiki, which isn't the greatest source but the one I could access most easily;
For a human trying to apply pressure to a Servant, even one physically the size of a child, it feels like trying to bend a steel beam. Punches with all of their strength will not even cause a Servant to budge a millimeter, and even Souichirou Kuzuki, whose punch is potent enough to crush a human's skull, can only slightly move Archer's head from the impact. Stabbing them with a knife does nothing but bring about a "prickling irritation" that does not hurt at all.
Also from the wiki, since the above only applies to normal humans and not mages.
"Humans utilizing ten Command Spells would also be able to damage Servants. Kirei Kotomine and Kiritsugu Emiya at the peak of their strengths during the Fourth Holy Grail War could defeat Servants, but only when the weakest, Caster and Assassin, are at their most exposed, or when they have special conditions in their favor like surprise or suitability against the opponent."
Here it comes, the "supah-mastahs". I feel creating a master as strong as a servant sort of nullifies roleplaying as a master. The whole point of role playing a master is usually to enjoy working around the fact that you're weaker than these living legends yet somehow be able to hinder/defeat them through tactics/prep. Even the weakest servant should be far more powerful than the strongest master. I don't think this means you should create a master that's helpless but definitely not one who could fight on par with a servant.
@ReflectionWtf is that amount of noble phantasms?! In fact, some of those seem to be nothing more than your average skill/spell. Not every ability of your hero has to be defined as part of their noble phantasm. Casters don't have 1000 'noble phantasms' which are each basically a spell and you have heroes like Lancer who had his cursed charm that made all women attracted to him yet it wasn't defined as a noble phantasm from what I know.
Noble phantasms should be of a distinct weapon/armor/equipment/trait of your hero. A hero could possibly have multiple legendary items in real life but usually only one is selected as the noble phantasm during the war. Exceptions to these are people like Emiya or Gilgamesh whose phantasms have the theme of drawing from an unlimited source...
