Ealwald wonders to himself, how beings with such small intellect such as goblins can be so damn scary. Regardless, he decides to stick with Anchor as he is the one person who decided to acknowledge him and assist in looking for threats and possible survivors from the town.

Round Summary:

Brave Theren has decided the best offense is a good rock to hide behind until things all blow over, which he promptly follows through on. Marcon, on the other hand, decided the better plan would be to just put an arrow through the goblin's eye the next time he spots it- a plan which is also promptly followed through upon.

While Anchor and Ealwald warily scan the their surroundings for more danger. Galen has moved to recover his stick. Fortunately, neither Anchor nor Ealwald can see any obvious threats. Tortetart, on the other hand, is still making a wild dash back towards the caravan. As of now, he has just made it to the town gates to find that most of the caravan seems to no longer be there. Unfortunately, it seems Ealwald forgot to mention the talk he overheard about turning around and leaving Nightstone to whatever fate had befallen it. Now only a single lonely wagon remains.

Seeing that the final goblin has fallen to the archers superb shot, taken as it simply stuck it's head out of cover, Theren also comes out from behind the boulder he was using to protect himself from any arrows that might have been fired at him. He begins to walk over to the rest of the group, staying on high alert though to dodge whatever attacks may come from any other hidden enemies.

Marcon shoulders his bow for now - like Deadeye Dyffyd said, "You can't live your whole life with your bow drawn" - and goes to retrieve his arrows, first fron the worg and then the goblin in the house. In the latter case, anything else of value comes with him.

With no more goblins or hounds in sight, Anchor heads back to the town square, still on high alert for anything new to make its presence known.

"So, anyone have any clue as to what's happened here?" Turning to address Marcon and Theren, "We fought a couple more goblins in the temple there, but didn't get anything out of them before they fell. Did you find anything before those dogs got you?"

Galen continues his walk back into the temple as fast as he can to retrieve his walking stick.

Tortetarte continues to what seems to be left of the caravan. Maybe someone there can assist with this terrible headache, update those who stayed, and figure out where everyone else went. His fear is that the portion of the caravan that left, will run into whatever attacked Nights Tone.

Ealwald retreats back to the caravan. Feeling that safety in numbers is the best plan.

Party Summary:
Theren seems to want to follow the group. Unfortunately, the group does not seem to want to follow the group and is instead in the process of dispersing in several different directions.

Marcon, on the other hand, has reached the house at the Southern end of the town square. Hanging above the door is a circular blue shield emblazoned with a stylized golden lion- a symbol that is vaguely familiar. The door to the building where the goblin fired from is hanging open, with bits and pieces of various furniture and objects readily visible from where he stands in the doorway. The goblin is sprawled on the floor in the middle of the room facing the northern window, arrow still stuck in it's head.

Anchor is still in the town square, questioning the dispersing group while Galen has busied himself with recovering his walking stick from the temple.

Both Tortetart and Ealwald have retreated back to where the caravan had previously stopped. Only a couple individuals remain alongside the single lonely wagon. Though you recognize both from the caravan, no names come to mind as they were a pair that mostly kept quietly to themselves while the rest of the guards had been busy with boastful bravado. Both have drawn weapons at the sight of the pair sprinting wildly out of the town gates. "What is it?! You bein' chased by demons or summat?" As they speak, they cast their gazes over your shoulders back towards the gate, clearly expecting to see an orcish horde riding out on your heels.

Theren remains prepared to dodge any other attacks that might come his way, looking around to see if there are any more goblins or worgs.

He also responds to Anchor's question, "no, the only thing we have seen besides the destruction was the corpse of a dog that those worgs were eating. In fact, that has been the only corpse we have seen. Which means either the villagers escaped somewhere, were all taken alive, or whoever did this dragged off the bodies afterwards. Hopefully the first one."

"Sorry, friend. Should have remembered Jannicot's advice and finished the job."

The line from "The Folly of Mercy" in his mind, Marcon pulls his arrow from the goblin's skull and examines the scene for gold or objects of value.

"That's true," Anchor responds to Theren. "I suppose the first place we should look is the keep over there. You've been through a lot, from what it seems. If you'd like to head back to the caravan, now might be the safest time."

Anchor then begins to head south, towards the broken bridge to the keep.

Galen, finally reaching his walking stick, grabbed it, turned around and walked back out of the temple. Stopping at the entrance, he placed the staff among his other belongings, so that he wouldn't have to carry it. "So, what's the plan, lads? We gon' ta check the keep?"

Greed and cowardice aren't becoming traits

Assuming his donkey is still there, Tortetarte grabs his shield, and turns to the two remaining men.
Are you any good with those swords? Most of the town is abandoned saving goblins and their dogs. Also, do either having the ability to heal? I appear to be all out.

Tortetarte faces the town and waits for the others to decide what they're going to do.

Ealwald is looking to regroup with the others to gain an advantage, while thinking to himself that he dosen't blame to two from the caravan for being scared. Especially since they are not blessed with his incredible talents. Otherwise, Ealwald will take Tortetart's lead for now.

Theren, ever indecisive after boldly getting himself almost killed not so long ago elects to remain where he is while Anchor has decided to head towards the keep. As he makes it to the dirt path leading out the Southern end of the town square, he can hear the sound of Marcon inside the building bearing the blue shield and lion. Galen, meanwhile, has his stick and is back at the town square where only two other party members are visible.

Inside, Marcon hasn't managed to find anything terribly interesting besides his arrow and the corpse that was kindly carrying it for him. The inside seems to have been ransacked, with broken glass and pieces of furniture strewn about. Still, it seems clear that this is some sort of general store, so while there are few items of great value apparent, there are all manner of useful tools and implements that an adventurer might want that the goblins did not deem shiny enough to pillage.

"So you mean to tell me only a couple little goblins took over a whole town all by themselves? Where the townsfolk at, you find their bodies or are they all up there in the keep?" The guard says to Tortetart, eyes narrowed in disbelief and suspicion. If one were to follow his gaze, one might note he was staring at the gates of the town again. The reason might be apparent- this town is no sparsely defended farming village. Moat, drawbridge and palisade all contribute to a substantial enough defense to potentially deter a hundred goblins or more. Heaving a sigh, the one guard who spoke turns to his silent companion. "Eh, no use just sitting out here I s'pose. Might as well get ourselves behind those walls before it gets too dark to see." Giving little more than a grunt of agreement, the other guard starts preparing the wagon. Clearly, the two don't want to leave all their things sitting out in the open while they head inside.

Theren follows behind Anchor in the direction towards the keep. He responds to Anchor's statement about heading back with a simple "I will not leave while there may still be people that need help. I will be more cautious from now on."

Pulling out a ball of pemmican from a hanging bag, Marcon chews thoughtfully. The wealth of utility isn't the fortune he'd hoped to make, but the day is still young.

"If I could carry you all, I would," he muses. "Alas."

Restocking his quiver and grabbing a crowbar, Marcon emerges into the square and moves toward the others, still chewing the pemmican.

"Very well," Anchor replies with a smile. "Let us see what we find."

"Ahoy, in there!" he shouts loudly, continuing his journey south. "Is anyone else around?"

Galen, receiving no answer, decided to just follow the only other guy that came through the battle without a scratch. He hastened his way to them, pulling a hood over his head. Sure it looked shady, but better than looking like a drow. He wasn't sure how any potential survivors would react to his face, even before it looked like someone ran it through a blender, so he'd best keep that mess to himself.

He hastened along in an attempt to catch up to those already ahead of him.
