Yes,indeed, it is called Lothric
Where the transitory lands of the Lords of Cinder converge.
In venturing north, pilgrims discover the truth of the old words.
The fire fades and the lords go without thrones.
When the link of fire is threatened, the bell tolls,
Unearthing the old Lords of Cinder from their graves:
Aldrich Saint of the Deep
Farron’s Undead Legion, The Abyss Watchers
and the reclusive lord of the profaned capital,
Yhorm The Giant
Only in truth the lords will abandon their thrones
and the Unkindled will rise
Nameless accursed undead,
Unfit even to be cinder.
And so it is,
That ash seeketh embers.

And you, Unkindled arisen from derelict tombs heed the tolling of the Bell. No respite for even the Dead as our First Flame once again faces danger. You were...unworthy before. Practically unguided...without assistance...weak. Unworthy to ascend to Lords of Cinder. Scattered..without brethren. Who were to blame you? No one. Our Flame is in danger once more..and you are needed once more. Yet it will be different this time. Before, you faced incredible danger without help. Now, you will fight as one force, united under one banner; humanity. So what say you? Will you cower in the darkness, hoping it'll get better or will you be a part of the force that makes it better?

Welcome! I'm new to this whole GM and owning a thread thing so please bear with me if I do something{or multiple somethings} like a retard. But you're not here to listen to my GM skills, no, you want to know what this roleplay is about.
Well, if you couldn't guess, this is a Dark Souls roleplay, specifically set in Lothric, which is the setting of DS3. I've had the idea in my head but other roleplay got in the way and nervousness impeded the inception. The world is exactly like that of the game, save for my minor changes. In this universe, the Unkindled are banding together to form the faction Humanity. Yes, instead of your poor character braving the world alone, you'll be accompanied by friends!
Humanity is loosely organized and had no real caste system. Bands of Unkindled task themselves with missions to complete, and forming small companies to defeat bosses. You will be playing a newly arisen Unkindled, of which class will be decide by you. The system I'll be using will be the "Choose your own Adventure" type of deal, where I give you a scene, options{And custom options for your class and or certain equipment you may find}, and you will act on which you think is the best.
If this check gets enough interest then a full-fledged roleplay will be created, with all the bells and whistles. Feel free to ask questions either through PM or just in the thread. This is Justin, reminding you to stay awesome, Peace.

I do love me some Dark Souls.

The bleakness of the setting would be upset a bit by the fact that there are others joining the fight, unless they are all equally damaged in some way.

An idea, this is the beginning of a new age of fire, and this is the story of how civilization grows again. The remaining unkindled clear the way for actually peace to reign again. That's their purpose, and when the world is safe for the peoples to thrive, they'll have no place in it, having lost their purpose.

I agree with the bleakness(or eeemershun) being disrupted slightly with the group aspect. The 'group' aspect was added to make it slightly easier to have a decent group being feasible in Dark Souls. While you can Team up in Dark Souls, it's more of a play with your friends thing. The original concept for this was to have a small group (of no more than 5) and letting them decide their own path which directly influences the world. I.E, player 1 lights a bonfire, that bonfire is now open for all players or Player 3 blows up a bridge(which isn't possible but this is an example), depending on which side of the bridge he is on, either no one can now access the area or only he can. Would that be a better setting?

AS for that idea, I'm quite frankly in love with it. And let me pull my n00b card realllllllll quick....

No a group setting is totally fine. Cooperation is name of the game for a sunbro.

But always be sure to really let an environment tell a story. The characters are bringing light to a dead world that is always trying to kill them. Make the tasks difficult, insurmountable, and rewards few and far between.

Every smile or sign of hope is only after climbing a mountain and slaying the mad beast upon it.

The character can only find joy in eachother as comrades at arms or tragic lovers set to battle and seeing eachother struggle fight and die over and over again.

Oh, I'll be trying my best to convey the grittiest, bloodiest, and darkest scenes imaginable. The initial IC post will have people dying left and right...and that's before you meet Iudex Gundyr. I appreciate the input, doktur dood.
