The year is 2032.
Google. Exxon. Apple. DeiEx. When you rattle off the most influential, most powerful, companies in the world, DeiEx is certainly at the top. They were created around 2028, after the successful merger of several different research, tech and development companies in Silicon Valley. In the past few years, DeiEx's stock has risen nearly tenfold, as the company steadily released seemingly miraculous technological advancements - high-functioning prosthetic implants, cures for neglected tropical diseases, and uncanny updates in self-driving cars are just a few examples of technology and medicine being pumped out by the massive company at an amazing rate.
You're lucky enough to have been hired by the company - not a high-up, but certainly holding a respectable position.
Early one morning, you log into your DeiEx email account. You blink at the single new message in your inbox, titled simply 'Urgent: Request'.
Rubbing your eyes, you open the email.
Of course you know Dr. Amari, she's the Sheryl-fucking-Sandberg of DeiEx, one of the richest women alive. You read her latest book, Women Working Miracles - the company gave it to you at the Christmas party. And she says she wants to meet? To lead a sweep of a highly classified corporate facility, called the 'Area 51 of Megacorporations', that recently went offline?
You must have really impressed a suit in that last board meeting.
At least, that's the only explanation you care to entertain at the moment.
This will be a thriller, discovery RP - you're being sent to a mysterious island lab to uncover the secrets on why it stopped communicating with the outside world. The roleplay can and will continue beyond this island. Inspired by shows such as Fringe, X-Files, Stranger Things, or Dark - expect some secrets and mind-boggling paradoxes about time and space to come forward during this roleplay. This is a mystery RP, but here's some idea of what to expect:
- Combat
- Plot-driven - A relatively pre-planned storyline to experience
- Character choices matter - At critical moments, your characters can change the story in radical ways
- Character-development focused
- Horror: Psychological and Physical shocks might occur
You character, as previously mentioned, is an employee of DeiEx. The reason why you were chosen is unclear, but for the purposes of the story, it wouldn't make sense to be something like a janitor or freelancer - you need to be of some substantial benefit to the company. Here is a non-exhaustive list of possible positions you could have held at the company, note while I am open to suggestions, I'd prefer a security OR scientist type of character:
We will begin the IC in the helicopter into the Eden Facility, located on a man-made island in the South China Sea. You'll all be situated on this helicopter to begin with, having been flown into an airport in Beijing at the expense of DeiEx.

- Try and post at least 1-2 a week, I will post as often as you do, so the more the better.
- Two character maximum - we can talk about controlling NPCs, but generally the NPCs in-game will be important to the story
- I know details are light - that's the point! This is a mystery RP. You are expected to piece together the clues on your own!
