Sarah was leaning against the wall, as she watched the troops introduce themselves to the newcomer. She was sure that he would be of good use for the war, considering that Erwin secretly did the same process with her; being a Titan and all.

From now on, she would be able to keep a closer eye on him and, if possible, show him what being a Shifter is all about, when the time comes. For that thought, she approached the teenager. “You do trust me. Do you, Eren?”, she asked.

“Uh. I’m honestly not really sure. I don’t have a reason not too.” He tried to reason, and it was true. She did just beat the crap out of him, but she also saved his life. They were about to shoot him.

Virtus stood beside her when she asked him that question. ‘Why does she care if he trusts her?’ He wondered, looking at her then the boy.

Virtus glanced at Sarah before turning away and walking back to the wall.

Internally, Sarah wanted Eren to believe that what she did was part of saving his life, and hope that it didn’t result him to show any contempt for her, in return. "I only hoped that my actions wouldn't make you resent me, or any of us. At least you managed to understand our intentions", she elaborated for him, before giving him a thin smile.

"Welcome to the team", she managed to catch a glance at Virtus, who seemed to be giving her a look of suspicion, which caused her to frown.

“Thanks.” Eren gave a weak smile once her smile had disappeared when she looked at Virtus.

“What’s up?” Vivi asked Virtus when he started leaning on the wall once again.

“Nothing really.” Virtus said, before pushing himself off the wall. “I’m going to go train.” He said walking to the door.

“Hey, let me come.” Vivi said walking up beside him, grabbing on his shoulder lightly.

“Me too.” Tushar said catching up to both of them.

Virtus looked back at Eren before leaving, “Welcome to the team. If you need anything from me, ask, and I’ll see what I can do.” He said. Eren nodded before he left the room with the other two.

He looked at Sarah, “He seems a little serious. Did I do anything to upset him or anything?” He asked curiously.

Virtus wasn’t upset, just, being in a crowded room with people without having a purpose made him feel uneasy. If he were to relax he’d end up doing it on his own. Vivi or Tushar would probably end up following.

Sarah kept her frown, even after she watched Virtus make his departure. Something was off about him, or it was something else, entirely. Suspicion, perhaps? To her, that was fine, because they were trained to be suspicious. She looked at Eren, with reassurance in her blue eyes.

“It’s only Virtus. He doesn’t like to be in a crowded spot for too long”, she assured, telling him the truth, but not in its entirety.

“Ah.” Eren responded and looked around the room at everyone else. “So what’s the plan now? What do we do?” He asked curiously. “I’m ready to make a difference.” His fist formed, ready and focused.


Virtus walked further away from the building and into a training area. Tushar ran up to the side of him, "What are you going to work on?" He asked.

"Probably just the swing of my sword for now, then some physical training. I need to be strong." Virtus replied and reasoned. Tushar nodded thinking it was true. Being weak and in the Survey Corps was bad news, most of the time. Technique had a big role to play as well.

"I'll join you." Tushar said, wielding his sword, and starting to practice his swings.

Vivi watched the two for a little bit, "Ugh. I don't want too right now.." She said, "I'm still tired from the other day." She went over and sat by a tree, watching the guys practice. She pulled out a little journal and begun to write in it.

Sarah looked at Eren, as soon as he declared his passion once again. For him to be driven by a purpose, looked very, very motivating; she could see it in his eyes. This was the first piece of evidence, she would be able to gather the next time the results of mission would have to be presented. "Wise words, Eren", she confirmed to his determination. "Sometime today, the Regiment will be choosing the top Cadets from the training program, and venture back to one of our bases in Wall Maria. From there, we will discuss how you will prove your loyalty to our cause", she explained. "As you heard from the judge, you are to be supervised by me and Captain Levi. I'm sorry, but it's to ensure the safety of yourself and our soldiers. If you have any questions, it would be best to get answers from either me or him", she advised further.

"Do you understand?", she asked.

"Yes, I understand. Thanks for giving me a chance." He gripped his hand once again, ready and eager. Having been through the terrible ordeals he has, there's nothing left besides giving his best.


After a few minutes Virtus kept training, but Tushar had grown tired. Sweat poured down both their faces. Tushar arms got weak, eventually succumbing to the fatigue he stopped. "I don't know how you can do this so much, it's unreal." Tushar said walking over to a tree by Vivi, almost as if he collapsed to the ground. He looked back over at Virtus watching him continuing to practice and train his body.

Sweat dripped from his chin. His eyes were focused. After a few more minutes he stopped and took a deep breath. He sheathed his weapons letting out a deep breath. His breathing was more rapid, but he quickly caught his breath and walked over to Tushar.

"Not bad for training." Virtus said and gave a small smile, as if he was excited by being fatigued and expelling stupid amounts of energy for no reason.

Tushar rolled his eyes, "Yeah if you're crazy maybe." He joked and looked over at Vivi while she wrote in her journal.

Later that day, as Sarah had mentioned, Commander Erwin had managed to pick out the top cadets from the training program, taking it as more of a graduating ceremony, as well as the initiation to become the newly-fresh faces of the Scout Regiment. As promised, Eren Jaeger was now within the captain and lieutenant's custody, and free from the intimidations and distrusts of the city. First thing the next day, the veteran joined in the escorting of Eren, and about half of the Regiment into another location within Wall Rose; away from society, in order to test Jaeger's loyalty.

As far as she heard, Captain Levi wanted the boy to sleep in the basement.
Though she didn't immediately agree, it became reasonable for the wellbeing of their troops.
