Nation Name: Bazuuku Space

Race(s): The Buzukar

Male Buzukar

Female Buzukar

The Buzukar are a humanoid race with extreme dimorphism.

The males can be described as almost-goblin like, without the long ears and a long swathe of black hair coming from the back of their head. The males tend to be more numerous than the females. The males do not have sex, they fertilize the eggs but intercourse like humans know it is a alien concept to the Buzukar. Despite this, the males have taken a large diversity of forms as a result of natural selection and Darwinism.

The females are almost elephant-like in nature, and are very huge in comparison to their male counterparts. Females can be rather uncommon, as only one in a thousand Buzukar are females. As a result female Buzukar tend to call all the shots and pilot spacecraft along with be armed with slightly less crappy weapons and armor. Despite the size of a female, they’re not too hard to put down. Like the males there’s multiple female forms as a result of Darwinism.

Female Buzukar lay many eggs, majority of which made into food with the fertilized minority let to natural hatch and either grow up or die on their own terms. Darwinism does not stop for babies.

Like any logical sapient species the Buzukar are very omnivorous. To the point where they have no qualms about cannibalism; it would be a waste of dead bodies to just let them rot or bury them in the ground. They also tend to really eat anything they think they can, be it rocks, dirt, strange space slime- even poison is fine for them since what is one dead Buzukar from poison?

Racial Traits:

+Lots of babies

The Buzukar reproduce like rabbits despite how unromantic their reproduction is, as in theory a female in one year can lay five thousand eggs that get fertilized by one hundred males. Considering there tends to be millions of females on a single planet, doing the math can show why there are a quadrillion Buzukar in all of Buzuuku space.

-Very high morality rate and lack of shit given about their fellow Buzukar

With so much population Buzukar tend to let death be commonplace. Not like it matters to them since there’s too many of them to count. Their lack of empathy for their own kind does make it impossible for them to care if someone gets shot they liked or if they lose lots of their men since they can always make more.

Civilization Tier: 2.9 or so. They’re very far spread and everywhere to the point where other civs near their place likely will end up spending some time exterminating Buzukar on worlds they wanna colonize from time to time but the Buzuuku empires tend not to give a damn if you kill 100 billion of their kind to make your planet wide theme park.

They cover a lot of space, but they aren’t that influential and are much more a nuisance than threat at worst even for weaker societies. The only societies under serious threat are planet locked ones who are in the Stone Age.

Technologically they tend to try adapting whatever techs of the nearby faction.

Other wise they’re content on using big flocking blocks of scrap metal and garbage with a FTL engine strapped to it they call a “spaceship” and fling live Buzukar at enemy targets since there is so many of them Buzukar they minus well.

There’s too little standardization to list off, so instead have at some random example of technology seen in Buzuuku space:

Population: 1,000,000,000,000,000 [A Quadrillion Bukuzar, number tends to go up and down by the year]

The numbers can deceive since the Buzukar are not a unified species and tend to die a lot as a result of not giving a damn about morality since there’s so many Buzukar it is very common to massacre Buzukar and invite other species to murder trillions of their kind if it means keeping their populations in check. It is also to help with the natural Darwinism by introducing predators

Culture/Society:

Buzuuku space is not unified, nor does it ever intend to be. For the Buzukar species run by darwinistic principle and natural selection, and don’t intend to ever change this proven effective means of life. The ones that reproduce more get to have more kids and die knowing that its children will die some time in the future too and make kids as well hopefully.

Buzuuku space even with all the factions lacks any semblance of religion internally, any religions being made from external forces. For the most part none of their kind seem to care about their short, miserable lives and are fine with nothing happening after death because it is better to forget you lived at all that die knowing you’ll have to constantly your experiences in some fairy land or shiny place or hell land.

There is no organized military, let alone unified government. There are tons of large interstellar chiefdoms that constantly fight in ritualistic warfare, which has militarized them, but lacking any military standardization or organization means they are easily manipulated, and tend to be more than happy to sell millions of their kind as slaves for a couple anti-matter bombs.

Slave trade outsiders may note tends to be very easy with the Buzukar, sometimes the seller even selling itself with the thousand other slaves it sold with it. The Buzukar are so numerous that it is not a concern to them as slavers proliferate the Buzukar and as longa s there are Buzukar they have done well.

They have proven vulnerable to military factions who see them as a pest on the universe, or by factions who see them as great target practice. Especially due to no major measures taken to defend, let alone attack other factions beyond the chiefdom that tries to drag a alien society into a perpetual war with it.

The Buzukar are open to listen to what other species have to say, but don’t see the point in listening too much as it will all be gone when they die and much “knowledge” to them tends to be deemed worthless seeing that the current way works effective as far as a Buzukar generally is concerned.

History:

One of the greatest mysteries of the Buzukar is how such a chaotic, self-destructive and locust-like society could ever get of their tiny rock without eating it all before they even thought of farming.

The Buzuuki empires have many theories, suggesting that maybe they didn’t start so abnormally hyper reproductive, while others believe some alien god of some sort made them as a sick joke to play on other societies in the galaxy.

Regardless it is not know just how long the Buzuuku have existed, estimates being very inconsistent and overall full of shit due to Buzuuku empires tending to constantly carry out historical revisionism and making up tons of ideas of their past. None of which ever true.

If one did the research though, there indeed seems to have been something artificial about the construction of the Buzukar’s biology…

Country Name: Ternopolesian Empire

Government type: Caste-based non-dynastic monarchism [since kings are chosen by the determiners]. Can be considered theocratic due to the big role the clergy/choosers plays.

The official banner of the Thernopolisian Empire:

The color stripes represent the different castes [which one being which pointed out below], the black background represents the darkness of times before and the pink border represents the empire as the whole.

The caste system used by the Thernopolesians is a six tiered system that goes like this;

[Represented with the color purple][one person] Highest Authority - Emperor
[represented with the color blue][2% of pop] Secondary Authorities - Nobility, Arch Deciders [see religion]
[represented with the color green][20% of pop] Honored workers - Smiths, Alchemists, Architects, Battle Masters, Deciders, Philosophers***
[represented with the color yellow][30% of pop] Workers - Builders, Merchants, Artisans, Knights
[represented with the color orange][40% of pop] Peasants - Farmers, bakers
[represented with the color red][8% of pop] Comedy* - Gladiators, Beasts**, Clowns

[[There’s more jobs than depicted, jobs are picked depending on what the empire currently needs.]]

Each caste, even the lowest of them is seen as having a role in society. The best way to move up the hierarchy is to win the favor of the determiners.

It should be noted that gender tends to factor into jobs, for instance women tend to be merchants and artisans while men tend to be builders and knights.

The system has the issue of being somewhat inflexible, which is why the deciders sometimes give out “secondary” roles such as smiths being conscripted into the army or nobility covering a vast range of choices on what they can do. It also has the issue of the king pretty much being chosen by the arch deciders who in practice tend to pick another arch decider.

*Basically those seen this low on the system are seen only as worth for entertainment purposes i.e being in arenas to fight or so on. Basically those seen so worthless all the determiners can think to do with them is “have them do stupid things and die for the people’s amusement”. Humans in this category tend to be the children of those who commit crime.

**Non-humans too ugly to count as human like enough to work in the system. I.e beast races.

***Notorious for being the caste that has the most people kicked down the hierarchy.

Ruler: Emperor Brez Ezon

Emperor Brez Ezon was recently ordained by the arch deciders little less than a decade ago and has proven surprisingly competent. The unique thing of Brez Ezon is that unlike most kings, he is part of the nobility instead of the clergy as a result of the Ezon family gaining considerable influence on the arch deciders.

This has called for increasing tensions between the secondary authorities that could lead to a potential civil war in the future due to some seeing Brez Ezon as illegitimate on the account of the arch deciders being influenced by outside forces.

Location: Region 4

Capital City: Lezajskona

Lezajskona is located by the large lake also named Lazajskona and is where the massive castle is located, overlooking the vast lake the empire has complete control over.

Lezajskona is ancient in terms of age, existing since the first cultures around the region started to civilize. It is so old that among the philosophers it is hotly debated on if the settlement existed during the ice age even being settled by nomads looking for a good source of fish, but there isn’t much proof of this.

The castle is incredibly massive, so huge in fact the whole city is the castle in multiple layers built on over thousands of years, and the castle is covered in defenses to the point where there has been only three successful sieges in its history that goes back to moment the ice age ended.

All three of those sieges being achieved generally by starving those inside the castle, something now inconceivable thanks to the internal farms in some districts of the castle and the bordering of the lake giving access to easy fish and water through aqueducts and feats of engineering that would make archimedes faint; if only due to the sheer amount of application of his devices. Of course, nothing is invincible from within...

Language : Tejakian Dialect; Pretty much a bastardized form of hungarian.

They also have a habit of assimilating other languages they come across meaning the linguistic history of Tejakian is pretty much a bunch of oral dialects mashed together overtime into a unified “imperial” language.

Species: Human mostly, but nearby species may be roped up into their caste system though tend to be forced into the bottom three tiers of the hierarchy. I suggest one prays that the conquered race is human-like enough to "work" in the Working and Peasant castes.

Army: 1% of the population is part of the standing army[1 in 100 people], with a potential 5% that can be drawn in times of aggressive imperial expansion.

The nature of the Thernopolesian military makes them focus much more on using advanced metallurgical capabilities, armor and siege based tactics and generally focusing on making a unstoppable wall of death. However their army even with calvary is rather slow in movement due to all the supplies they must bring to maintain their impressive armies, being a potential Achilles heel...

The swords used by the Thernopolisans are very, very refined using techniques developed over thousands of years leading to swords so unbreakable that the age of some swords in use by the military is two hundred years old; kept squeaky clean. “Drohobizan* Steel” is a very much sought after commodity as the swords made in Drohobizan are said to slice through iron like a baker slices through bread.

Example of such sword:

Their forces tend to be heavily armored as well, even the archers tend to use at least chain mail. While the difficulty of manufacturing armor does factor in, generally the longer life time of the armor tends to make up for it with surpluses of weapons and armor being stored and kept clean for times of war requiring more than 20,000 people. However replacing old equipment is a very troublesome task.

When the numbers go up to 5%, it is due to conscripted smiths, not peasants due to a chooser a century ago noticing that smiths like practicing with their weapons. Smiths are always subordinate to knights, but the children of a smith can become knights themselves.

As a result smiths are now mandated to practice with their weapons.

*Drohobizan is located towards the north around the mountains.

History:

The Thernopolesian Empire started out as a simple city state known as Ter, near the Lezajskona lake and was one of the neighbors of Lejaka, a city state that brought the concept of civilization into play in the region.

The Formative era was very simple, and the caste system that the current Thernopolseians run by did not exist during this time. Instead it was simple kingdoms and chiefdoms that warred for nearby land and lake territory or traded across the lake to somewhat more primitive chiefdoms on the eastern part of the lake whom followed a feudal system.

Civilizations rose and fell for god knows how long, but something exceptional happened that allowed for one empire to dominate the entire lake.

The Lezajiksonians forged an empire with Ter but a province, but this gave the Ter the security the other societies that resisted didn’t have when barbarians from the east attacked and ravaged much of the ancient societies- only the western parts staying up amidst the onslaught.

While the barbarians eventually assimilated into the societies around, their deadly impact on the eastern size caused instability in the Lezajiksonian empire causing it to crash leading to a 400 year long dark age, but in this dark age the Ter city-state retained much lost technology as civil wars raged in the walls of the great castle and raping and pillaging fomented in the east.

Than, something completely insane happened. Around 1,300 Y.A when towards the end of the Lezajiksonian dark age the Ter successfully seized their great, impregnable castle. Than the Thernopolesians in a matter of one hundred years conquered the whole lake due to the technological advantages they held from retained knowledge and a supply base made from the assimilation of all the western lake cultures- later assimilating eastern lake cultures as well. From the conquered lake came classical Thernopolesian society, though it wasn’t called “thernopolyesia” at the time despite the historians of Thernopolyesia insisting that it is part of their continuity. [Historical revisionism yay!]

For the next seven hundred years classical thernopolesians ran themselves under a very feudalistic system that is much like those seen in Europe. Due to the relative isolation and the barbarians from the east subdued, Pax Thernopolesia became a thing for two centuries. In those two centuries the roots of the caste system formed from philosophers who saw the feudal system as inadequate for a empire so great. Such ideas went persecuted.

Imperial expansion lead to the conquest of the Drohobzian river, where the legendary steel smiths proved very hard to conquer with their advanced metallurgy, but due to their lack of numbers eventually were crushed under the boot as well. However their metallurgy would revolutionize the empire.

Much corruption and unrest came about in the following years, and by 800 Y.A the classical empire fell apart into three warring states and a century of war ensued. In these hundred years death and starvation became the norm, making people in power in the state of Thernos turn to a new system in desperation brought about by the clergy whom made a organized caste system that regimented society in a machine-like way that out produced rival societies and reconquered all of the states.

As a result the caste system became legitimized throughout the empire; but it would be another two centuries before the system fully became implemented to a state recognizable to today’s Thernopolesia. In some ways there always was a caste system in the region, it just wasn’t as elaborate as the one that currently is used to run things.

The current order of things for the past several centuries has been relatively steady with road systems connecting the whole empire from the eastern frontiers to the western plains. Many cultures and societies have fallen to the Thernonesian empire, some taking centuries to finally be conquered others being swallowed in days.

The system the choosers made seemed to be working near flawlessly as far as a denizen was concerned with the successes and conquests of the Thernonesian Empire.

Around 400 years ago the Styrian corridor was made by expansion to the eastern sea bringing the Thernopolyseians into contact with the wider world. Current plans in the empire are to try to conquer their war to the sea, but imperial overstretch has started becoming a problem due to the logistical problems of building a concrete road through a long, hilly region.

In the past 100 years the caste system has been slowly more and more undermined with people buying their descendant’s futures with the wealth that the empire has brought and the rise of the nobility whom are relaly just meant to run provinces.

In the past decade the Ordination of Emperor Brez Ezon has caused deep concerned within the circles of the Choosers who traditionally have only let arch choosers become emperors. It is feared that the influence the Choosers once had is waning and the empire will degenerate to a dynasty monarchy like that which existed over seven hundred years ago.

What will happen next, we shall see in the IC.

Pic:

[A idea of what the main city looks like, though it is really mean to be more sprawling than towering with many layers of different architecture from thousands of years of history]

Religion : I’ll detail it IC or later since i’m outta energy man. Basically the choosers are the clergy of the empire and their job is to pick who moves up a caste since unlike the indian caste system which was very spiritual the religion here is more secular, meaning that a more concrete reward for hard work exists with children of those who worked hard ascending to do jobs in highest castes.

There is gods and a pantheon assimilated from local cultures, but these gods don’t play much rule in the “imperial religion”, they just aren’t persecuted as long as they do not contradict the caste system.

There is a myth behind the choosers to explain why they get to choose who is in what caste.

Population: Around 2.1 million people give or take. The pops in this RP are odd to me since I recall stuff like the roman empire having tens of millions of people, but I am pressured to not go much higher than 2 million since no one else has.

Name: The Puppet Masters

Type: Hyper Nomadics

System of Government:

Puppet Masters, few as they are powerful, have come to accept a system of government based around manipulation in order to achieve their goals. They assume a general sense of domination over other civilizations. In effect they see everywhere they are as "in their control" despite not dictating the rules, annexing worlds or improving on the region.

Instead they keep control of their domains through manipulation of individuals and associating with proxies in order to "keep stability through chaos". Societies that are large, innovative and expansive tend to get their attention more than other societies.

The puppet masters are not a united entity, rather they are a massive multitude of tiny groups that wander around collecting information "of their dominion" and have been known to come into conflict over contradicting actions taken to cause chaos in a "potential threat".

Despite all that they're rather rare and generally do not have any effect on the typical basis of things.

Species contained:

Many species that are weird and too obscure to depict, however the puppet masters have become in recent times one with their spaceships.

History:

Once upon a time lost to history there was an ancient interstellar empire known simply as the Ecumene. It was a very prosperous and near utopian empire; one that was said to have stretched thousands, if not millions of star systems and kept stability despite the constant terror that beheld them from their expansion.

However this period of prosperity, where hundreds of races were said to have worked together for the grand purpose of making a truly galactic community things started to degenerate. Factions within the dominion grew and secretly, and slowly undermined the ways and traditions that kept the Ecumene in its uphill prosperity slowly, but surely started to wear down the wave of civilization that rocked the cosmos.

The internal damage got progressively worse, and the Ecumene eventually traumatically disunited, the stability and order than once governed society for vast periods of time reduced to a mess of squabbling factions who lost track of what made the Ecumene great.

However, this was only the start of a disaster that would only spiral progressively worse.

For Ecumene was not alone in the cosmic fugue- it had enemies it kept down and away for so long, now they took their opportunity to strike at the Ecumene. Massive invasions and wars on scales incomprehensible broke out, and continued in a perpetual, almost ritualistic manner as titans crashed into each other, smashing apart the foundations of civilization forged over vast sums of time in a matter of centuries. Entire species being systematically erased from the face of the universe, plagues and super weapons unleashed that eradicated entire sectors of civilization in one burst- in was the end times.

The Eon of Sunshine this time was called, due to all the gamma ray burst based WMDs used. Thankfully such destructive weapon was lost with those who used them.

The end result of the eon of horrors would not only be the fall of the Ecumene, but a dark age in which societies degenerated back to the stone age slowly and painfully or marauding crooks with advanced technology went about forging little space empires in the corpse of the Ecumene.

After some time the chaos cooled down, but technological innovation ceased and in many ways went back ward. Societies rose and fell in the space once in the Ecumene, but the flame of the Ecumene would seem to be forever extinguished.

There was for 20,000 years a weak neo-Ecumene that formed around 50,000 – 30,000 years ago that looked like it was going to reclaim its lost glory, but the lack of resources in the region and lack of ability to reclaim the technologies from the ancient Ecumene that once ruled caused it to come and go like any civilization, but this neo-Ecumene did contribute to the Puppet Masters and their spread, as the puppet masters derive themselves from a cult that formed in the neo-Ecumene and spread to the far reaches of space as they got persecuted for their ideals of nomadism and indirect domination.

As a result the Puppet Masters, as they became called due to their puppetering ways spread across much the galaxy. However number wise they are very thin, lack the ability to reproduce much and lack any ability to innovate any further with their current technology. Despite all these problems, the puppet masters believe their system to be on the slow rise- one day perhaps remaking a new Ecumene of a nature better fit to running a galaxy. However, as time marched as and the Puppet Masters became more isolated ideological difference became more increasing different to the point where quite a few “puppet” masters have become very different in nature to the point where if someone wanted to make a hyper nomad with a shared history whose nomadic ideology was near completely different they could.

Also note that while they are unable to innovate, the cultural markings and technologies they utilize does vary with what ideology they follow and what technologies they see best suited to carrying out their goals. The splinter of puppet masters that reached the sector the Cosmic Community takes place is very, very far from home and has only been around for 3,000 years, a timescale which is not much time for a puppet master.

Despite that, they intend to control from the void and manipulate however they see to best and their presence in the sector cosmic community takes place in is very evident, perhaps too much so...

[[Any further history from this point on will require folk to have as associates]]

Technological capabilities:

All technology the puppet masters use has been in use as long as they can rmemeber. The technology they use to them it is rather mundane in the same way that you may see a car or toilet paper mundane.

Make of what you will, as I list off the technologies most relevant.

For one, they’re biologically immortal and can pretty much appear wherever they want to as any form in any space as something that is best described as a sentient hallucination as they can fade away and don’t get detected on the scanners.

They can subconsciously hack into systems and get information they want very quickly; hiding stuff from them is only feasible with stuff like paper, any files kept on a online source or archive is bound to be cracked by them sooner or later.

Their conventional weapons are in a sense "death pulses" waves of varying frequency that can cause those targeted by the weapon to wither away. Energy shields tend to help to some level, but the weapon saps heavily on energy as well. There's variants that shoot waves and spheres instead of streams as well. They can and will give a associate a hand weapon that shoots death pulses; but if the associates do something with the weapon the puppet masters do not like, the weapon will crumble apart in their hands.

They're also rather liberal when it comes to using anti-matter based bombs and missiles. They can and will give some of this tech to a associate.

Their FTL is as fast as the limit I allow for the RP is; they can travel across the sector in around 8 years.

Despite all the technological wonders, it must be noted that stuff like space craft are very, very hard to replace as they have no access to manufacturers so every spaceship of theirs destroyed is a spaceship that can’t be replaced for over a century.

Also, the puppet masters are the spaceship.

Other: They're pretty much inspired by a certain classic metal song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnKhsTXoKCI

I tried my best to keep them balanced; they're very low in numbers, can't innovate/have a very hard time making more of themselves and generally must rely on indirect means of power. I also made it so other players can potentially make hyper nomads of a similar origin to the puppet masters pretty easily.

Also their history may or may not be a creation myth and not really happened in their ancient history.

I've avoided making a species sheet since it's impossible to use a species of them due to them being spaceships and they got to that form during the neo-ecumene period.

Name

Alfrek Gawaadi

Occupation

Magician/stage performer, amateur programmer and wannabe Zoroastrian priest.

Bio

Born on Mars, with a mixed dutch-persian ancestry dating from the early 22nd century from what his obtusely rich and religious grandfather, notorious for his excessive pot smoking, bribing of dutch politicians and generally not following his own religion despite demanding everyone else follow the rules [he likes bacon] did in Amsterdam.

The child of that grandfather who would be the father of Gawaadi would inherit much of his father’s wealth despite the out of wedlock birth in secret. Using that money, and knowing the troubling nature of Grandfather Gawaadi with the great scandal that erupted around Grandpa Gawaadi Mr. Gawaadi used what money he could muster form his inheritance to start off anew on mars. Free from the limitations of Earth and the stains on the Gawaadi family name

On the way to mars, Gawaadi disillusioned by his father;s corruption renounced his shi’ite faith, but not wanting to fall to atheism Gawaadi would ultimately go the neo-pagan route and become a Zoarastian.

On Mars Mr. Gawaadi took a occupation as a Casino dealer, fell in love, got married [unlike Grandpa Gawaadi] to a engineer [yes a female engineer- mars does that to people] and had a child. That child grew up to be Alfrek.

Alfrek was slightly out of place on mars, for while the majority of martians spent their time in heavy handed, rugged work in agriculture and industry with less government overbearing Alfrek spent his time making the machines of industry dance for the amusement of little kids in magic shows. He even personally programmed [though not invent] drones he could “control with his mind” [or hand movements] to fly around the places he operated his shows. In spite of this, Alfrek proved useful as as a result of understanding how to program machines to dance he knew how to make AI and applied those skills to practical use with improving on the AI mainframes in multiple structures around mars becoming quite proficient in his technical skills as a result, joining a skilled class of technicians.
However, Alfrek isn't just some eccentric mutt with machines. He is a eccentric with machines and fire.

For Alfrek adopted neo-pagan faiths like his parents had, but unlike his more secular father followed the zoarastian faith more intensely. Thanks to his more dogmatic approach to Zoarastianism, in his teens he had a falling out with his father that would lead to Alfrek wanting to do what his father did- go to another world far away.

Like, 40 light years far away.

Other

Not that good a survivalist and will be rather reliant on everyone else to not die, but he does make good use of one of his magic tricks that will help light the way in a dark, hostile world. That magic trick being tiny drones he controls with hand movements that act as smart flares. Though the amount of these “fire drones” is far from unlimited.
