I had an idea for an RP in which we play as pokemon who are fed up with being mistreated at the hands of humans and decide to fight back by attacking the humans. Most pokemon will be accepted, but it wouldn't make sense for a player to be a Legendary or semi-legendary, as it could make them OP.

Maybe these pokemon really were abused, maybe they weren't, but they need to have a reason to hate humans enough that they would join what most humans and many pokemon consider a terrorist cell.

99+% of humans can't understand pokemon, but most professors and some high-end trainers can, so be careful when speaking around them or their Stockholme syndrome battle-slaves. (AKA trainer owned pokemon).

For some basic rules:
1) Don't be a dick. This includes auto-hitting fellow players, god moding, and getting into arguments about in-character stuff OOC. Debates about whether something makes sense in context are fine as long as you keep it civil. If you can't come to an agreement within a week, though, a GM will have to rule on it to keep the RP rolling.
2) If someone doesn't respond to you within a week, just assume that their character got distracted and move on. Hopefully we'll have enough players to keep moving even without everyone posting at least weekly, but as a general rule try to respond within a week.
3) I won't be playing any character that the story revolves around. Think of me as someone that is there to control NPCs and keep the story going. I want this to be a player-driven story, though, so react to ingame situations however you think your character would, and I'll role with whatever happens.

---

The lights dimmed as the voltorbs which powered them lowered their output. Two spotlights shined upon a scarred Charmeleon that walked onto the stage. "Good evening everyone." he said, addressing the crowd of dozens, or perhaps hundreds, of pokemon of different types and forms. "As many of you know, I am Carax. I once belonged to a trainer, like many of you, who thought of me as nothing more than a tool to earn money. I started this group because I believe that we can no longer sit by while we and our fellow pokemon are abused by people to whom we are simply items to be discarded when we are no longer useful. Allow me to tell my story, and I will open the stage up to anyone who wishes to come up here to share theirs as well."

"I was hatched from an egg that came from one of those forced-breeding camps that the humans euphemistically call "Daycare Centers". My parents barely knew each other. My father was caught merely to be breeding stock in the mill, my mother was a Ditto, a descendant of a long line of slaves which this trainer had bred to have what he called "perfect IVs". Before my father even knew what was happening they were drugged and locked in a cage together until my mother laid an egg. Me."

"When I was old enough, after the trainer had forced me to strike down dozens of wild pokemon, what he called "training", a process which resulted in me fainting several times, I was sent to that same breeding camp. At first I thought it was some sort of vacation, that he had realized that he had asked too much of me and was giving me a break, but then I was drugged and put in a cage with another pokemon just like my father. I didn't find out until later that her trainer was doing the same thing with her."

"The trainer returned to take our eggs, and a few days later returned again. The eggs had hatched, but only one of them had "better IVs" than me." A tear started to form at the corner of Carax's eye. "I can only assume that he placed the other two in the computer, as I heard him say he would do with me after swapping me out for my son, and then deleted them."

"When he went to return me to the cramped cage they call a "pokeball", though, I knew I had to act fast, lest I be deleted or, at best, forced to fight again. I knocked the ball he had trapped me in as a newborn out of his hand, shattering it, and, when he brought out a captured Staryu to force me back into line, I fled. I later received word that he is carrying my surviving son around just like he did with me, when I was a child, placing my mother in a cage with that Staryu. My son is being tortured by him, forced to fight opponents he can't possibly defeat, then pulled out at the last second only to be replaced with another slave who's more fit for that kind of battle. The human's call it training. I say it's psychological torture. And I can no longer stand by while my son and other pokemon are mistreated."

The crowd cheered, and Carax motioned for them to quiet down. "I know I am not the only one who was mistreated. Some of you were living your life out in the wilderness when some psychotic ten year old came by and beat you into submission or unconsciousness, the ones who remained conscious finding themselves stuck as energy in a small ball, being let out only when the psychopath wants you to fight for their pleasure or profit. I know that it can be tough to talk about it, but if you are willing to share your story with your brothers and sisters gathered here, then we would be happy to listen, and offer you what support we can, emotional or otherwise."

With that, Carax stepped out of the spotlight, allowing the first Pokemon in line to step into it to tell their story.

---

This is more narrative than rules driven, though, so basically you'll be able to use any ability that your character would have access to at their level. The "slaves" will be limited to four while in captivity, though I hope that we don't need to fight many of them. The point is to free them, after all. I'll say that we have a PC to store them in as a prison, and that we take them out for a few hours per day to let them live without being force to fight every time they have a body. They need to rehabilitate from their stockholme syndrome, after all.

That also means that you can be one of those, as well as a formerly owned pokemon, released or escaped, or a wild pokemon.

Name: Sidia

Species: Lycanroc (Midnight)

Level: 26

Gender: Female

Orientation: Straight

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Belongings: Old chain collar around her neck

Abilities: Bite - Rock Throw - Rock Tomb - Scary face

Affiliation: The Howlers, her plus the five others (a Zoroark, a Houndoom, a Lucario, a Delphox, and an Arcanine)

Appearance:

History: Sidia was raised to be a starter Pokemon for a new trainer. Eventually that trainer came and chose her but whatever bond that was suppose to be between a Pokemon and trainer never form. Her trainer only cared about one thing and that was winning. In order to win she had to be trained, constantly. No matter how hard she seemed to train though it never seemed to be good enough. In her younger age she at first thought it was indeed her fault that somehow she wasn't pushing herself hard enough so after every verbal lashing or physical attack from her trainer on her only made her want to please him more and train harder. Evolving made her finally realize though, her trainer was just a cruel monster. Finally fed up with her master's abuse, not only to her but to the other Pokemon he had caught on their journey, she lashed out during one of their training sessions and snatched the pokeballs, or for her miniature prisons, that he had on him and escaped into the city streets.

Once figuring out how to free her comrades she made certain to protect them. It a few weeks to find a territory that could sustain five Pokemon without capture but eventually they did, still within the city but also close enough to the neighboring woods on the outskirts.

Personality: Sidia has a short temper and quick to anger. She rules over her territory, allowing any free Pokemon to wander with its boundaries as long as they don't cause trouble or attempt to claim it as their own. Sidia is highly protective of her six fellow Pokemon comrades she saved from their old trainer. Has a strong distrust and hate for humans and chases them away from her alleyways when they stumble into them.

Name: Scylla

Nickname: The Mercenary Pokemon

Species: Weavile

Age: Around her 20’s
Gender: Female

Orientation: Straight

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Belongings: Tiny pink sweatpants, a purple like coat that drapes behind her,(as a Pokemon with a trainer/ going rogue). A black shirt with a red 'R' on it (after she joins Team Rocket)

Abilities: False Swipe – Ice Beam – Shadow Ball - Taunt

Special Ability: Pressure: Scylla can make her opponent use up more PP until they’re depleted than normal.

Affiliation: Team Rocket (Imported.) Previously unknown trainer.

Appearance: Being female, Scylla has shorter ears than a male Weavile. She is also known to have a bizarre dark violet fur condition that makes her distinct, if not more sinister and unwelcoming. She is also known to wear clothing as well.
History:

Scylla was caught and brought up from a Sneasel by a very demanding and cruel trainer who only cared about winning. After years spending time with him and even after her evolution she faced abuse in comparison to his more prized Pokemon. One day she had enough of this and when he ordered her to use False Swipe in a training season, she used it on him.

Eventually she was found by Pokemon Poachers and held against her will. This would lead her to be sold to Team Rocket where she lashed out and attacked them before being subdued. Eventually however they saw her reckless temperament and her desire to prove herself as valuable and she was give to a group of Team Rocket grunts. She eventually bonded with her new human trainers and eventually proved her worth as a Pokemon who hunted down other Pokemon for poaching.

Personality:
Scylla is a very temperamental, cruel, sadistic, and overall vicious Weavile. Due to her bad trainer's upbringing she seems to only care about victory and winning, yet this was how she was raised. While she is most certainly able to work with others, she still will not hesitate to lash out or attack anyone who dare abuses her like her former master did. She seems to possess a 'might makes right' attitude and also seems to be rather naive even though she doesn't like others getting to near her.

She also seems to have a crush on a certain bilingual Meowth.

Still accepting CS's? Figured I'd ask before assuming anything and the IC probably isn't watched anymore but I do apologize if I am not posting the question in the right section.

@Midnight PlayerYeah, still accepting. I think I'll start this tommorow night, but if you don't have it ready by then, you can just jump in when it's approved.

Name: Fade (86)

Species: Umbreon

Level: 36

Gender: Male

Orientation: Straight

Abilities: Shadow Ball, Protect, Moonlight, Feint Attack

Bio: This Eevee evolution was never given a name, rather a number. The name ‘Fade’ was self-given to remind him of how he escaped his imprisonment. Like the Eevee’s before him and no doubt the ones that are still being used, Fade was born from an egg with his ‘relatives’. The only thing that connected those born was their timing. Immediately after hatching, Fade was marked with a number on a ring pierced onto his ear. Fade’s only memory of a name was his number, 86.
Fade never figured out the reason for the mass breeding but he made assumptions later on. After he grew enough, Fade was handed to a random trainer. Even then, the trainer didn’t like Fade and he was back with the other Eevee returns. This happened a couple more times until Fade had his chance to escape his bondage. His last trainer entered a battle with a Pokemon much stronger than Fade himself. With one large attack, Fade ran away himself from the battle in the ensuing dust cloud.
Since then, Fade has been on his own. He evolved with no moon in the sky and in the darkness of night, causing him to take the form of an Umbreon. The tag on his ear stayed in place as well, forever labeling him as Number 86, self-named Fade.

Personality: Fade has been a loner both before and after his escape. Most would label Fade as impolite and socially inept, but he is rather just blunt and protective of his own self. He will look after his own safety both in and out of combat, always deciding on whether he will be in danger. Unfortunately, sometimes he may not think fast enough and his body will decide for him. When speaking to others, he will keep no filter on his speech. No matter the consequence, he will speak however he pleases. Fortunately, Fade tends to only speak when necessary. Fade also chooses not to take sides or join any group, wanting only to rely on himself in life.

Seeing as my character isn't a Pokemon...Pokemon (people person doesn't fit in the situation), only if forced on stage or coerced would he be up there. So, Fade is currently a no.
