So I started drawing this earlier today and just finished it. Yes, I know it’s rather cluttered and needs to be worked over some more. I just thought I’d share the rough original version.

I haven’t labeled it yet, but the central territory is the disunited realm of man, the southwestern realm is the to-be-named Wood Elf kingdom, and the southeastern realm is the Orc lands. The large mainland mass to the northwest is an unexplored island inhabited by tribes of Gnolls and Goblins.

Now I just need to create lore and an RP for this map.

I like the islands and how the mountains near the coast make for a rougher coadtline as they generally do on Earth. Only issue is the orientation of rivers. On Earth rivers tend to flow from the interior of landmasses and in a relatively direct path to the coast, the Niger River in West Africa being a notable exception to that rule of thumb. On Earth, rivers always meet and never split except when the slope is low and/or the river is depositing lots of sediment, but in a fantasy world like yours there could magical explanations or some ancient civilization might have diverted rivers for some reason. Also, unsusual to see rivers draining into a lake so close to the coast, that water will normally want to drain to the sea rather than sit in a lake. Again, possible explanations for this. Coastal highlands that block off the path of drainage to the sea? Low lying rift valley a la the Dead Sea? Barrage built by an ancient civilization?

t. amateur cartographer who's made a few fantasy maps and took a geography class in college. Not trying to nitpick or be a dick. Just legit constructive feedback. Keep it up.
