In 2021 a team of scientists and some of their interns, prepared to run a test of the Spacetime Warp Event Chamber at Caltech (Pasadena, CA ie the Los Angeles area) for an experiment in temporal manipulation. The idea was to create a measurable space time warp.
The project was the brainchild of Dr Duncan Moran who had stressed repeatedly that the experiment should have been run outside the strong gravity well of a planet. The truth was more complicated than that. He understood the mathematics of 11 dimensions perhaps better than any man alive.
Long story short - the test appeared to have been a failure at first. Then there was a quiet sort of non-explosion, more of a ripple in the air. And then everything changed. The room changed dramatically. The Warp Chamber was gone. Their own clothing changed, now looking like something their parents wore a couple decades ago. As soon as they looked into the halls, they realized EXACTLY how wrong things were.
People were dressed as they had back in the late 1980’s. A glance through a window showed cars from the 80’s, maybe early 90’s. Soon they would see bumper stickers that read: Vote Bellisario and Larson 1984. There were payphones here and there. Some guy with a boombox walked across the campus yard. Then the guy with the car phone. It looked like a military radio from the Vietnam War. The transceiver was huge - and connected with a cord.
It was like a bad dream.
The Plot
Welcome the world of Bellisario and Larson (currently President and Vice President). In your world these men were responsible for many of the action / drama TV shows of the 80’s and 90’s. This is a world based on their TV shows - at least any of the contemporary ones. (Black Sheep Squadron is a part of history now. And Battlestar Galactica has yet to happen.)

The USSR is STILL the enemy. The Cold War is still going strong. The USA are still the good guys (even though the government does all those awful things). It is 1990 and Bellisario is halfway through his second term.
This is a world where Hollywood reality is the rule. Walk down an alley? Expect to get mugged, run into a drug deal, witness a spy vs spy scene, get stabbed by some guy with a hypodermic of God knows what and have a black bag thrown over your head.
Characters
You will need to develop a good CS. I am not going to be picky about format. But include a good, high quality pic for your character. I at least want to see a face. (No animated gifs please.) Mention your profession, skills, education...
