"Men since the beginning of time have sought peace. Various methods through the ages have been attempted to devise an international process to prevent or settle disputes between nations. From the very start workable methods were found in so far as individual citizens were concerned, but the mechanics of an instrumentality of larger international scope have never been successful. Military alliances, balances of power, Leagues of Nations, all in turn failed, leaving the only path to be by way of the crucible of war. The utter destructiveness of war now blocks out this alternative. We have had our last chance. If we will not devise some greater and more equitable system, Armageddon will be at our door." -Douglas MacArthur
In 1945, whether it be from issues or unwillingness from the Manhatten Project, problems or delays of the discovery of nuclear fission, or something else entirely, the reality of an atomic bomb is unfeasible and largely unheard of.
Due to this the war grinds on until the Autumn of 1946, whereupon the Japanese forces, which now included just about every person in the nation regardless of age or sex, have finally been defeated. The Japanese surrender, but only after millions have died in the last year alone, and Hokkaido is under Soviet occupation.
Bloodied and left limping, with a slightly larger Soviet Union and a more war weary US, the world was left clueless as to what it should do. Should we blindly hope that this would finally be the real war to end all wars, or would global war become reality yet again with the next generation?

Hey there. This is an rp (with a starting date of 1947) where, well, there's no A-Bomb. The world is left trying to restructure itself, or rather figure out how to in the first place. Germany and to a slightly lesser extent Japan are split, and once partially or fully released have to carve out new destinies for themselves. The nations of Europe are wondering how they should interact with each other, not to mention the massive red menace. Has the war crushed the desire for war? Or has it only sparked the continuation of imperialism? Is the existence of democracy in danger of extinction? Is fascism utterly crushed, or waiting for a later rebirth?
