Chapter One: Life Before Death
Sarah Hanson is a twenty-eight year old woman taking care of her parents. On her way to pick up her father's medication, she meets Johnny Blackburn, a thirty-three year old musician from Fairburrow, the small town in which she's resided her whole life, that used to be in a relationship with her sister. After being invited to his concert, she returns home to discover the body of her mother and her father soaked in her blood. Fleeing from the house, she calls the cops where Ethan Hall, a thirty year old officer, shoots her father. After checking her into a motel, Ethan goes to check on Sarah who, looking for something to take her mind off of what happened, asks him for a police escort to Johnny's concert. He complies, taking her to the venue set up at the Moontower, where she reconvenes with Johnny. They take the tour bus to his house for the after-party where nearly half the town is in attendance.
