Hello and thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out this RP. As you can tell already, this is going to be a Bleach RP. Since the end of the anime and manga I’ve seen the popularity in Bleach threads decrease substantially, whether this is solely based on popularity or lack of trying is unknown to me. Having GM’d a few Bleach and Naruto AU RP’s I found it was time to rally the troops and bring back one of the most beloved anime/big three (minus the fullbring arc). As I mentioned this RP will take place in an AU so characters will have existed, but are either no longer around or have not been introduced yet. Below you’ll find everything you’ll need to determine whether this RP is perfect for you, if not and you have any questions or advice feel free to PM me.
The race of men suffer from the same ailment, they all want to hold some form of power. Why should it be any different when they are dead? Hatred begets more hatred, like a time bomb waiting to explode, taking everyone in the crossfire regardless of innocence. Just as there had been a world left unexplored at the dawn of man there was one left unexplored in the Soul Society. In the chaos of a maturing world without law or vigilance one man decided to uphold peace and order. Matsudaira Yūzan, one of the first Shinigami, took matters into his own hands in order to maintain the balance necessary in the soul society. The creation of the Genji School/Shinōreijutsuin was out of need and for facilitation of new shingami in order to develop their abilities and hone their talents.
However, one man wouldn’t be enough. Matsudaira Yūzan needed an entourage if his iron will were to impose itself and leave any substantial mark on the world. In turn he wandered through the Rukongai in search of candidates for his new found school, where he found his two most promising recruits. They would become his star pupils and aid in further developing the Academy. Not too much later Matsudaira Yūzan had encountered Inuzuri Masanori, who had mastered his bankai and had displayed it in battle against Matsudaira. Eventually, Matsudaira Yūzan would found the Gotei 5 known as a band of killers, but served as the society’s vanguard ensuring balance was maintained in all forms. Soon after, Matsudaira would petition Soul Societies foulest criminal to join as a Captain within the Gotei 5, Hajime, Sagara quickly filling out his ranks. Unfortunately the time would eventually tick away and usher in discord, this came in the form of the Quincy.
Rumors and whispers spread about the rise of an unrelenting force who was led by a man known as no other but, Yhwach. The progenitor of the Quincy, slowly building up his army who would later become the focal point for disruption. For mostly reasons unknown, Matsudaira Yūzan sought to put an end to his reign before it could ever begin. The two were locked in mortal combat, this would be the first encounter for opposing races and witness of their powerful abilities. Matsudaira Yūzan had failed to kill Yhwach left with nothing but a massive puncture wound through his chest and lung as a memento of a failed execution. Centuries passed and the spread of Quincy began to rise, being the polar opposites of Shinigami the Quincy pushed for them to be the sole force to deal with the hollows. With time, their numbers had increased leaving the cycle of souls unstable. Once more onto the breach, Matsudaira Yūzan hand was forced and the will for balance became paramount.
His star pupils having become the first captains and able to master their bankai’s helped the Captain Commander exterminate and wipe out the Quincy in order to retain balance in all things. Like the scourge they were, the Quincy had to be closely monitored throughout the years as to curb any thought of revolution. There’s still a great deal of enmity between the two factions as the timer is reset on the next time bomb set to destroy all that Matsudaira Yūzan has worked to achieve.
Here is where you’ll find all the information on the five established divisions. Why 5 and not 13? Well the characters in this RP will be the first ever to fill out their spots, thus making the Gotei relatively new and not yet nuanced. The Shinigami are and have always been small in number compared to the rest of the Soul Society, whereas the Quincy are reborn like bunnies. Since they are so low in number and trained with such precision they have only focused on building five divisions as to refine them and expand gradually and intuitively. This does not however determine their ethics and code of conduct since the demographic still has their murder like tendencies. While the Divisions will have an overall theme to correspond to, since they aren’t refined each squad functions as its own gang of sorts, structurally similar to the other, but ultimately left to their own decisions and rules regarding how each is run.
