“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
- George Bernard Shaw”

Some believe Time to be the enemy of all living things. It is unforgiving and relentless in its forward march toward oblivion. Many who seek to fight back against time have paved the way for great success or they were trampled by the heavy footfalls of Time. Though those who failed did vanish from sight, their works, big or small, gave way for future generations to attempt to run from Time and its impending conquest.
While Time seems like a distant enemy at the moment, it is always there. Always watching. Always marching.

The year is 3627 A.D. Your planet Earth is but a fleeting memory. Make sure you never forget it.

Thanks to the discovery of the incredibly earth like planet Kepler-62F, Humanity has been hot on the chase to find a way to escape their rocky prison and escape to greater heights. Though one could say their "escape" was merely a relocation to a new prison that they were not aware of.

The discovery of this distant planet was made quiet some time ago. Technology advanced ten fold as the many countries around the world came together in an attempt to speed up this process. With the combined efforts of a plant seemingly acting in harmony, they were able to achieve their goal. Through countless failed attempts, Humanity was finally able to launch their combined deep space program. It was a revolution for the world. Questions were popping up left and right, thesis statements and hypothesis of the galaxy and Earth in general were being proven and cancelled at an alarming rate. Humanity was finally able to expand it's horizons.

The year is 3627 A.D. Your planet Earth is but a fleeting memory. Make sure you never forget it.

Through the coming years Humanity would colonize the moon of earth, access and update nearby space stations and construct new ones near Earth. These were the preliminary steps. An organization was formed to head space exploration and that organization would be named The Council of Humanity.
Almost limitless resources were given to the Council as they sought to take their first big step in proving science wrong. The Council divulged almost all of their time into creating a orbiting space station the size of any small average city around Earth's Moon. Though years of tribulation and countless error and adaptations, Humanity would finally finish construction of the orbiting space station. This station they deemed, "The Bunker."

With the Bunker finished and new jobs available, Humanity saw their cultures rapidly change on a global scale. Some jobs quickly became obsolete as economies changed and lifestyles were uprooted and shaped into something new.
Progress led to achievements and humanity felt unstoppable.

The year is 3627 A.D. Your planet Earth is but a fleeting memory. Make sure you never forget it.

Humanity continued their expansion outward. Reaching new heights as they eventually escape the Milky Way Galaxy they called home. Though they stayed close to home they continued to monitor Earth and call it their home. It was their prized possession after all.
This expansion gave way to chaos. A new enemy emerged from the stars. With no warning these alien lifeforms opened fire on the humans seeking peace as they sought to undo everything humanity had achieved.
The aliens eventually made their descent on Earth but they did not attack it directly. Instead they kept their armada of ships hovering above Earth's atmosphere. Instead the aliens deployed machines to Earth. With unparalleled efficiency Humanity began to fall to the machines.
Seeking refuge those who were worthy enough, or lucky enough, were able to escape to the Bunker space station on the Moon. With some humans still fighting on the Earth, Humanity decided to turn away from expansion and decided to defend the planet they were trying to abandon.
Human weapons proved useful in combating the machines but they were not efficient enough. Or so the Council of Humanity decided. They also sought to cut down on human casualties lest they face extinction. So over years of holding the line and more and more casualties, The Council of Humanity birthed a new weapon to fight the machines. Androids. These incredibly human like machines were the perfect weapon in a poetic sense as well as a combat sense to fight the machines. They were ruthless yet efficient. Brutal, yet merciful and kind to humans. They were almost humans themselves. Almost

Androids were made as fast as they could be produced. Soon it would be that androids were given a regular place by humanity's side. The androids believed themselves equals and the humans did as well.

However, even with the combined efforts of the Humans and their Android combatants, it was not enough to take Earth back. The last remaining humans were rounded up by the androids and given safe passage to the Bunker on the Moon. Still keeping Androids on Earth to try and reclaim it from the alien enemies, the Council of Humanity created the YorHa division comprised of Androids to monitor the efforts on Earth.

The year is 3627 A.D. Your planet Earth is but a fleeting memory. Make sure you never forget it.

This is where our story will begin. Realizing Earth is lost, the Council of Humanity decides to create a secret project. A subdivision of YorHa so to speak.
This mission was simple: Escape to the planet Kepler-62F and establish a base for Humanity. The planet was close enough to Earth that it was almost an exact copy.
This new YorHa division acted in secret as to not incite panic among the hundreds of thousands of humans on the Moon.
The Council sent countless squadrons to the planet, knowing they would not receive word from them until they reached this planet. Squads were made up of five humans and two androids. One android always acting as a combat unit while another serving either a medical, engineering, or reconnaissance role.
The two androids in each squad were assigned one human in the squad to watch over and protect no matter the cost.

The year is 3627 A.D. Your planet Earth is but a fleeting memory. Make sure you never forget it.

It's time to begin your journey to Kepler-62F. The effort to establish a definite base on the planet has already begun. Several hundred squadrons are already on the planet right now.
Remember: Your efforts on the new planet are what give the Council of Humanity hope for a new future. It is time for you to pave the way for future generations.
But what hardships will you encounter on this new planet?

YOU MADE IT

Hello! If you got this far then I applaud you. Thank you for taking the time to read all of that if you did make it this far, too :) Seeing as how this already long enough for the 1x1 thread area I'll go ahead and get to the nitty gritty.
Yes, this is heavily inspired from the game Neir: Automata. Borrowing the tale of the game I have taken my own spin on the game to give some added flavor to a story I have been thinking up in my head for some time.

Your character would be one of the humans going to the new planet. You will be paired with an android which I will play, though I am open to switch those roles. Just when I was creating the story in my head I had planned to take on the android role. But I am flexible.
DO NOT think of yourself as some boring old human though. You can augment your body to work in new ways. This is an escape from reality so go wild! Just not too wild. You want augments in your legs to let you run super fast and jump high? GO RIGHT AHEAD. The augments should be focused not so much on combat though. But there will be combat.

Your character can be Male or Female. It is up to you!

I ask that your response is detailed as well. Perhaps 5-7 paragraphs or so. I wanted this rp to be focused on the choices we make as we go along. Along with the dark and foreboding aura that the NieR game entails. Maybe your human character doesn't like androids and thinks that they should be disposed of or that they are an abomination. Maybe its the opposite? Up to you! All of these things give great character development in my mind.

Since this is the 1x1 thread we can discuss more in PM. I would prefer that anyway :)
However, if my idea has piqued your interest and you would like to go ahead and get something started, PM me this simple character sheet to help me get a feel for who you are and what you want to play! I am a huge sucker for character development and I will be developing my character as the rp goes on. Romance could be involved as well. But it should be natural unless otherwise stated by the partner. The choice is yours.
If you have any comments or questions please PM me!

Thank you!
