An RP taking place after the events of the third war. The setting will be contained in the northern regions of the Eastern Continent. Player's will be able to take control of lore figures to shape their order/faction, or create original characters and carve out a kingdom from the ruined lands of the Alliance.

Major factions will include:
The Undead Scourge
The Burning Legion
The Scarlet Crusade

Now, while it was probably not intended, its extremely hard to tell what you want to do in this NRP, especially considering it takes part in an already expansive universe of WoW. While I can get the idea for it, there is very little to say what the idea for this NRP is. Is the RP going to allow very custom factions? How custom will they be compared to the other lore? Does it have to be based on that warcraft lore? What about other north EK regions, like Quel'thalas or perhaps Gilneas?

The time period is also pretty much going to be a slaughterhouse, considering this is the period where the scourge and legion are best buds, and are curb stomping humanity in the process.

As a suggestion, you'd perhaps want to either expand your idea of the roleplay's theme or expand it's region is bit farther, and explain the rules and what not.

Hmmm... I'm interest but, I have to admit I'm not too knowledgable in the era.

It’s pretty much just the Warcraft 3 campaign, and that basically sums up the lore with some additional events explained in the books and WoW’s quests.

Very custom factions. Someone could play as, say Arugal in Shadowfang keep and amass a Worgen army in southern Silverpine, or make up their own character and start a new troll tribe in the old Amani territories.

I don't want the map to extend beyond the Lordaeron subcontinent, but there is still potential for most races to have a base in the given land. I was also going to exclude eversong woods, but the Ghostlands area would be playable for any potential Wretched/High/Blood elves.

The time period is also pretty much going to be a slaughterhouse, considering this is the period where the scourge and legion are best buds, and are curb stomping humanity in the process.

The RP will begin after Arthas has departed for Icecrown. This will leave the Burning Legion's Dreadlords locked in a civil war with the Lich King's forces. I was going to follow lore events as best I could, but if everyone involved went off the tracks it would leave room for interesting story potential.

At the start of the narrative everyone will probably be busy fighting the Scourge and Burning Legion. Events will likely follow with the formation of the Scarlet Crusade as secondary antagonists. It all really boils down to what factions people are wanting to use. If someone wants to play as the Scarlet Crusade I would come up with different antagonists that didn't break the lore too much.

Thats a lot better explanation, but as a suggestion you should work on your beginning post so it is much more clear to people who may be interested. While I would like to do a warcraft NRP one of these days, doing just Lordaeron's 3rd war isn't highly interesting to me at this particular moment. However, if you do get more and active players, I will definitely be interested, because I am a sucker for warcraft.

Yeah, it might seem weird but Lordareon is too small for a semi-decently sized NRP campaign.
Forget WC3, you'd struggle to play WC2 style events on it.

I can make an alternate suggestion, though. What if we expand the scope to the entirety of the Eastern Kingdoms and to make things interesting we take an alternate ending to WC2 where neither side won and the Orcs still hold Arathi and Stormwind? WC3 events still kick in with the Scourge's appearance but things would be more diverse and chaotic.

I personally think Lordareon is the perfect size for the RP. The current map holds the (pre 3rd war) Kingdoms of: Lordaeron, Stromguarde, Gilneas, Dalaran, Amani Empire, half of Quel'thalas, Frostwolf Clan and the Dwarves of Aerie Peak. After factoring in lost territory due to the scourge it's a good size area to slowly expand before butting heads with one another.

I guess it all comes down to how many people were willing to join the rp. I had planned for most of the plot to revolve around the conflict with the Scourge, and that wouldn't really be possible south of Silverpine. I am willing to lengthen the map if there's a great demand for it.

Interesting idea. I do think we can keep it in Lordaeron if need be. Don't want to get too divided apart.

Plus this being Warcraft anything is possible. Perhaps. Is it possible to persay reform the Kingdom of Alterac even?

@ProductOn the second thought if you allow custom factions you can fix almost every problem you have with Warcraft. In lore let's just say national borders are insane as you can have dozens of troll tribes roaming free within human kingdoms without the two ever properly interacting. Or how typical NRP activity can be done for factions that technically have no territory. If you make this into a heavy alternate universe version of Warcraft then all these issues could be reliably solved. Amani and Gurubashi have their own proper nations. Dwarfven realms that can exist without strong dependence on Ironforge. Gnoll/Murlock nations. Corrupted lands already in control of the Scourge. Etcetera, etcetera...

If we dramatically alter the plot of Warcraft and only use the lore at its core I can see this working out. And yes, Lordaeron is big enough already to host a great variety of nations.

Yes! Thats exactly what I was going for.

I was always hoping for custom factions (personally going for a troll tribe in Hinterlands). I'll use the existing lore to create events when applicable, but the narrative will be a major altar of Warcraft lore.

I'm interested! It'll be interesting to play a filibustering noble from Stormwind who's moving north to take advantage of the collapse of Lorderan and the Northern kingdoms to establish a kingdom of their own with their own family as the ruling family.

Oh, Lorderan is screwed. Hillsbrad and Arathi however are prime locations devoid of recognized leadership. A good place to set up a kingdom.

I mean with custom nations you are free to invent any other AU stuff. Amani that remained united after the Second War, Ogre Kingdom in Arathi, Horde not losing completely but rather holing up and preparing for the next war, etc. Personally I'll go with the "boring" route, though. Quel'Thalas, probably reimagined by all the stuff introduced in the expanded universe and some of my own writing filling up the holes.

Well, there were demonic blood fueled orc tribes still hiding out in the Eastern Kingdoms while the Scourge was on the rise. It's not impossible to suggest that one or two of the tribes managed to escape the undead purge and still running around.

@Bright_OpsOh, forgot this is post Third War. Albeit this raises the question of exactly when. Frozzen Throne era? Because technically the Third War concludes in Archimonde's death. Basically at this stage the fighting is far from over and the Scourge dominates most of Lordaeon. I feel that scenario wouldn't make a good nation game environment, either.

But again, @Product said we have AU setting with relatively custom nations. So whatever chaotic times we'd canonically be in, it can be sorted out.

Good question. I thought this RP was dead in the water, so I haven't been putting much thought into it. I've never done a nation RP before, so I need to work out what sort of mechanics there will be. Does everyone want stats?

I should also do a role call to see who's all still interested. Haha.

I was going for a mid TfT start. After Arthas' exodus to Northrand, right before the Dreadlords ask Sylvanas to join them and Garithos is enslaved by Detheroc.
