(I had originally released this RP nearly two months ago, but decided it needed revision and pulled it. Behold; the revised version ready and up!)

Hello, Welcome, and thanks for your time!

For some time now I’ve been juggling around a concept about a Skyrim Roleplay specifically centered around the Dark Brotherhood. This Roleplay will tell the story of the Brotherhood after the assassination of Emperor Titus Mede the Second, post quest “Hail Sithis”. The Listener attempts to rebuild the Dark Brotherhood and return to a time when the Brotherhood was feared above all others.

Players will role as a Dark Brotherhood noviatiate, recently recruited into the Brotherhood. You will be given contracts, special tasks, and encounter other objectives not related to the Brotherhood itself. You will embark upon an epic journey of murder, deceit, and chaos as the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim is born anew.

The RP itself will mostly be plotted along with original quests, characters, and locations, aside from the occasional canon material. The only canon quests that will be employed within this RP will be minor and Daedric quests, and they will be slightly spoofed to avoid redundancy from the game.

I’m hoping to make this RP very diverse in characters, quests, and overall direction. This is more of a concept-idea rather than a complete and finalized RP.

While I realize fandoms can be iffy here on RP Guild, I also realize Skyrim fans are abundant and wide, and the Dark Brotherhood is s very popular element of The Elder Scrolls.
Hopefully I can find a reliable cast of characters who’s willing to see this RP through to the end with me, and that we may all deeply enjoy this experience (obviously).

Below you will find a brief summary and backstory of Aleera Veruni, the current Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, as well as a listing of current Brotherhood members.

Again, thank you for your time and I hope this peaks your interest! :D

Any thoughts or feedback on the canon-based contracts/assassinations?

The Rolf Stone-Fist Contract sounds plausible. Not sure about Thonar Silver-Blood though, I feel like he’s a bit too canon to tamper with. But that’s just me. I also like the idea of Maven putting out a contract on Mjoll. I feel that to be a sensible move from Maven’s standpoint.

Those are just my thoughts.

@Mister Thirteen

Ya I was thinking about those, honestly... i'd tread carefully around those. Leave the main story line and anyone related to it untouched and as the outcomes as ambiguous as you can.

I assume your leaving the grand quest line and the imperial/stormcloak thing? If so there can be some fun to be had eliminating certain officers from either sides. Just not any of the really higher up or story critical ones. Or taking out a few nosey Thalmer (or the Thalmer are a client)

The story of rebuilding the brotherhood itself is compelling enough and can require more than just shiving people in the dark. Contacts need to be made, bribes collected and given and maybe a bit of travel to the other provinces.

I concur with this.

Rebuilding the Brotherhood alone and establishing a firm hold in the province can make its’ own compelling quest/story line.
Asassinations and contracts will of course factor in.

Hmm, I see and agree to your point.
I’ll avoid major and “moderate” canon characters. We won’t be meddling in the Civil War arc really. (Maybe one assassination of a minor officer.)
The Dragonborn Quest will be rendered as “finished” in this RP.
The Last Dragonborn, Deimos Balénson, lives with his wife Camilla in Whiterun, leaving only when called upon or to adventure out for some time.

I like your angle of majorly objectifying the rebuilding process itself. That will be a fine arc in itself.

I could have sworn I saw this as a 1x1 plot. It had an 'almost'. I may give it a try, and in any case, I'll at least watch.

You did. That was the unrevised and rather dictating version. I have of course edited it as you see and released it as a group project.

The character sheet is ready and released. Have at it! @Sea Man@ArenaSnow@Boss Kermit@Ollumhammersong
(I'm open to suggestions and possible revision to the CS if it is not suitable or seems incomplete, or restraining.)

@Mister Thirteen

I dont think its to restraining, if anything i think the opposite. You should probably specify the limits of what we can take in terms of enchantments and the like or people might go a little wild.

Maybe some other guide lines, like only people who specify themselves as mages cab have adept level prof in spell schools. None mages can only be prof in one school of magic to start. Give more variance and meaning to picking a class. At least for the start. I don't necessarily mean these specific changes *should* be made. Just some examples.

We are just novitiates, magic rings and necklaces may or may not be a little beyond us to start.

To the above I say not necessarily. As far as power levels and limitations. It is to the discretion of the GM to decide what combination is most OP, as many small enchantments may not necessarily lead to a too strong character while a few of certain types that are abused lead to an imbalanced individual. What is beyond individuals, based on the OP, is not defined. A new joiner could be an elite fighter or a total novice. Perhaps the place for improvement is to specify how strong the new joiners should be; again, a strongly enchanted fighter with decades of experience could be a new intro to the guild alongside someone who just has the potential to be the same thing.

I’m just going to go ahead and declare my character type; an Argonian rogue who dual wields an Iron War Axe and a Steel Dagger. I assume that, even though he’s not an alchemist, he’ll have access to poisons and toxins?

I listed a max strength of adept level spells. I feel that that is good grounds. @Ollumhammersong@ArenaSnow

I’m thinking that only Mage characters can have initial Adept level powers.
Warriors, Rogues, Rangers, and Alchemists could start at Apprentice level, and Barbarians would be planted at Novice level spells IF ANY.

Yes. Babette can provide you with a number of poisons, elixirs, and ingredients.
