Miss….

Jinx’s greyish blue eyes blinked slowly finally focusing on the murky grey water below her. She pulled away from the handrail of the large schooner to see a small little boy with green eyes and yellow hair looking up at her. Her response was light, her tone way younger than initially expected due to her appearance, “Pardon me?

The young boy was startled for a second, as his eyes roamed over Jinx’s quite out of place demeanor. The woman in front of him was covered head to toe in dark greenish brown clothes, her face covered by a small sheet of lace thin enough to see the lines of the face but no details, “My mom says I am not allowed to talk to you...but Jimmy says you have a monkey! May I see it?

Jinx paused, surprised by the request, seeming as most children didn't take much interest in her. It took her a minute to respond but when she did her voice had a sweet monotonous timber, “You know darling, you should listen to your mother. Talking to strangers is very dangerous...Right Esmeralda.

Slowly a small brown hand lifted up the edges of Jinx’s skirt and a small tan capuchin with a small light pink bow looked out. A few seconds later the creature was bounding up the boys leg to sit on his shoulder, squawking lightly as she bounced her little fists on the boys hair. Jinx smiled behind her lace as the boy started laughing, “Esmeralda here, loves to play the drums. Bongo's on the brain. I call it. She came from the deep jungles of Madagascar on a ship just like this. I bought her from a funny little Persian man with pointy shoes and beard that extended all the way down to his belly button!

The little boy lifted up his chubby hand to pet the monkey whilst giggling wildly at Jinx's retelling of the story, “She’s very funny! You’re so lucky to. We don’t have any pets. We aren’t allowed them at home. My mother says not to talk to brown men either. She says they only want trouble.

Jinx leaned down lifting her gloved hand forward so the small monkey could swing onto her shoulder, “Well mother’s are usually right on most occasions but keep your mind open when it comes to people, Love. They might surprise you.

Suddenly a shrill voice erupted a few feet behind the young boy, “Oscar! GET AWAY FROM HER NOW!

Jinx eyed the woman about to say something when a large bell was rung and men began to shuttle around the deck, yelling that the port was in sight. Oscar looked back at his mother then, “I suppose I should go. Thanks, miss

Jinx shook the young boy's hand, “Haven...Darling, Madam Haven. It was my pleasure. Now run to your mother before we both get into trouble.

The boy smiled tipping an invisible hat before he ran away to his mother. Jinx stood up watching him run, a smile tugging at her lip. She sighed turning around to stare at the waters surrounding her, “I don’t know why I said that...Esmeralda. There’s nothing but trouble where we are going...but I guess that doesn’t matter anymore does it.

Esmeralda squeaked and curled her tail around Jinx's neck as a response. Jinx smirked slightly before she headed inside the ship, shrugging her depressing thoughts away, “Anyways...pip pip cheerio..to London we go!

-------- A few hours later in London

Jinx stood at the edge of the port by the large schooner, a large brown trunk with a large J. H. painted on the side standing beside her. She stood stock still, as crowds meandered around her, their looks both revolted or nervous when they got close enough to notice her. She paid no heed to either reaction, knowing they could only see her clothes and nothing of her real figure. Her annoyance was also spawning mainly from the lack of transport that was supposed to arrive at 9 promptly. She tapped her foot, beginning to regret the whole trip when suddenly a large honk erupted to the left of her. She turned slowly as a thin man with long dark hair, a bushy mustache and slate grey eyes in a chauffeur’s outfit ran over to her, “Ahh...Miss Haven…I’m assuming?

Jinx stiffened, “I'm afraid to say yes. I technically would be Mrs. Bishop, but...

The chauffeur stiffened cutting her off, “Mr. Bishop has remarried actually…

Jinx didn’t speak for a moment before releasing a brief, “Oh.

The chauffeur cringed slightly, “Sorry. They didn’t give me much information to go off of. Please let me take your trunk. My name is Jonah Birmingham and I was sent from the Ministry. I am at your service, M'am. We have a few other stops to make before we arrive at the institute..and we are running late, so, unfortunately, I must urge you to hurry along.

Jinx raised her hand and stepped aside so he could get to her trunk, her voice slightly choked, “Yes. Yes. Sorry. I forget myself. Miss Haven is perfect. Of course, Edgar remarried. Old habits die...hard. So the ministry can afford a motorcar? I have only ever seen one in pictures. Even in the Colonies, only the highest of the elite could have such contraptions. Interesting technology...these vessels.

As she was talking, she walked over to the car, looking over the dark brown leather seats, the dark copper, and steel pipes and paneling. A mechanical mystery to behold. She waited for Jonah to finish placing her bag in the trunk before he opened the door for her. She got in slowly ignoring Jonah’s hand to help her into it. He didn’t pay any mind and followed suit moments later, started the car after placing on some goggles and a riding cap, “Yes. Mr. Weisskampf has always being fond of modern invention. As well as the unexplainable. Such as...

Jinx cut him off with a smarmy reply as she stared out the window, “Me..

Jonah laughed as the car pulled away from the port, “Among others, Miss. With whom we are to pick up before we arrive at the institute. Group of persons who are of particular interest to the crown, much like yourself M'am.

Jinx sulked, unhappy that she would have to spend time in such a cramped space with people. She looked down at her hand the space between her glove and long sleeve revealing a small strip of pale blue skin. Jinx pulled the fabric hastily over herself, whilst Esmeralda crawled over the seats to stare out the window, "Others eh? All servants of queen and country ready to serve at her majesty's calling!"

She let out a maniacal laugh looking out the window at the people of London, not sure if she was responding to the people outside or the ones waiting for this long ride, "Poor Bastards!"

Quindaro:
"Take good care of the shop now Johnnyboy, I plan on coming back when I'm not working with the city 'ere in a few years," Quin said with a cocked smile towards his business partner. Handing over a ring of spare keys to the shop. Wearing one of his long leather dusters with his usual workman's suit. a brass timepiece pocketed with a brass chain dangling out as it connected with his undershirt.

"Ah don't worry 'bout the store so much, I'll take good care of her while you're gone doing whatever the government is gonna be having you do." John replied with a slightly annoyed look upon his face as he'd been told this many a time in the process of him trying to lay the responsibility of it into John's care. The store was Quin's baby, and leaving in the hands of others was not favorable in the slightest. Though he'd been requested by London Parliament to be an advisor on some engineering projects.

At least that's the story Quin had fed to his family, and business partners.

With that Quindaro walked out giving John a small wave, but before he could close the door, he gave John another look. "I'll come and kill ya if I learn that everything burned to the fockin ground. Just warnin' ya." He said with a smirk before walking out onto the brick laden road. Looking down the way, he saw the intersection where he was told to meet in the letter earlier this morning.

"Hmm... The ministry notified me to be there at... err...." He hesitated and pulled out the timepiece hitting a button as the lid opened revealing a simple clock face. "Looks like I'm going to be right on the dot. Though if they're not on foot...." He looked about the crowd and smiled, "....I'm gonna have some time to spare based on this crowd." It would definitely be enough to let his mind wander and ponder the new job. He thought of what it'd be like. Part of a taskforce full of others who may be stranger than himself. Though he'd only met one of the blokes, but the rest he'd just corresponded with letters.
Subtly there was a small tear into his mind. Dark whispers filling his head for a moment before moving on to focus on something else. He didn't know what was going on, but something eldritch wanted his attention for whatever damned reason. As he leaned against a building and waited thirty minutes longer he'd already struck up some tobacco to his pipe. Several minutes had passed as he puffed and watched the timepiece tick, the ever moving second hand acting as his consciousness as he thought of his possible future projects. Then he looked down the street and saw the marvel of steam power start to make its way towards him, the man of which could be presumed as Mr. Birmingham driving.

As the steam wagon came to a halt, he could hear the pops and the whirring of the belts as he stood there for a moment reveling in this technological beauty. As he stood there he got a look at the car's cowling and saw it had MPO in fine lettering, of which he was told to look for when approaching. Sighing gently, he removed his tophat and looked to the driver. "Hello there, I'm Quindaro Redmire. Here on Ministry business?" He asked as he looked at the driver then briefly to his passenger, giving her a slight nod, before return

Jinx:
Mr. Birmingham got out of the car quickly, pulling his driving goggles up on his cap, "Top of the mornin to ya, Mr. Redmire. Yes I was sent henceforth by Mr. Weisskampf, to pick up you and a few others. I apologize for the tardiness. I am sure you know about London traffic.”

He took a few steps forward and opened the door for Mr. Redmire with his arm tight against his back, “I am sorry to rush you, but I have two other stops to make. Mr. Weisskampf hates when I am not prompt. Mrs Haven here will make room for you, Please…”

Jinx scooted over to the opposite seat, pushing down her skirts, as she looked at the body to the right of her. She tried to loosen up so that she didn’t seem too stiff. She let out a fake breath before she called out the door, her voice light and charming, her old personality shining through, “Don’t worry, Love. I don’t bite...much.”

Quindaro:
"Oh, well London will do that to you, don't worry though, I'm very patient." He gave the man a smile before placing the tophat back upon his head. When he then described the situation, Quin smiled as the door was opened. "Let us make haste then!" He promptly boarded the vehicle and sat across from the strange veiled beauty in the back.

What she said was peculiar, something about her choice of words stood out, though he maintained his grin. "Hmm.. not much of a biter, hm? That puts me at ease, though I like things a bit feisty sometimes." He said before replacing the pipe in his mouth. "So Miss Haven, I assume you're also with the ministry supposed response team?" He asked as the smoke trickled from his nose.

Jinx:
Birmingham shut the door promptly behind Mr. Redmire and got back to his task of transportation. Jinx eyed the young man calmly as he entered the cab. He was handsome, looked like he knew it, but there was a certain charm about his demeanor. She smiled lightly at his feisty comment before she adjusted her legs, listening politely to his question, “Yes. I was contacted by the Ministry in hopes of aiding the country with my....unorthodox skillset. Surprised the bloody government would have been paying attention, to be honest. You're originally from London?”

Quindaro:
The woman emitted a strange aura as she spoke. He wondered what other threats lie out there that the government would have to do this, but here were two of them. "Dartford, outside London. I'm the team's mechanic, gunsmith, and present alchemist." He took his pipe from his lips as he heard the voices start to eerily creep in. Often beckoning him to open the abyss in some way. "How 'bout you? Where you from originally?"

Jinx:
Jinx raised her eyebrows, "Alchemy...Interesting. Some would say..that work like that is specialized for fools willing to try the impossible. But I guess you wouldn’t be sitting in this car if you didn’t have some use.”

She paused wondering how much she should tell, “I’m from York. I’ve been in New Orleans though, over in the Colonies for a few years since my...accident. I used to roam around as a Medium before then, so I suppose you could call me a translator for the group, or a good shyster, as the papers once did.”

She smiled lightly, “That was quite some time ago though, I am newly retired. Work just took the life right out of me. ”

She let out a dark laugh, “Sorry. I forgot myself. Have you met Mr. Weisskampf before?”

Quindaro:
He felt the dark laugh and gave a chuckle, he had the feeling something greater was up with her, though he couldn't pinpoint it. This woman perhaps has been through a bit more than she led onto, maybe to do with this accident? Then he heard the voices, they were louder, though still indistinct, it was still the same eldritch language that he never understood. Taking a small breath, he looked to where her eyes would be behind her the cloth that blocked her visage from the world.

"Can't say I have met him, I've only corresponded through post over the past few months." He said giving her his best smile. "Do you know him at all?" He said replacing the pipe between his lips.

Jinx:
Jinx shook her head softly, "No. I've heard of his name over time in the higher circles, but he never usually makes a public appearance. I was slightly surprised his resources were able to find me. I had thought I kept to myself quite well in the bayou...well to myself and Esmeralda."
At the mention of her small capuchin squeaked and scuttered past Jinx to sit beside Quindaro, lifting her paw up to his pipe. Jinx watched the monkey quietly, “Sorry…she’s a smoker. I am trying to break her of the HAAA…”
Suddenly the car turned quickly, hitting a pothole. Jinx fell forward, her sleeve rolling up slightly as she adjusted herself revealing a small sliver of blueish white skin. Mr. Birmingham piped in, “Sorry…Miss. These streets need some repairs.”
She ripped her arm back quickly, her voice cold, “It’s fine. Just be more careful. So…Mr. Redmire, do you know who we will be picking up?”

Quindaro:
He was genuinely surprised to see the little capuchin, though he merely just looked down at her as she gestured to his pipe. "Hmm?" He said turning his attention back to Miss Haven, he knew that monkey's could smoke, but before he could give it another thought there was a sudden shake as they hit the pothole. He took hold of the side of the vehicle and a hold of his hat as they shifted around violently for the brief moment. He caught a glimpse of her arm, the skin was discolored and looked cold. Though he didn't linger on it too long as he redirected his attention to their driver then back to Miss Haven as she went back to the conversation at hand, asking him about the next person. "Everything about this ministry has been very vague. Whenever it came to any details, they always outlined it, but never told directly. As to our colleagues I was only told that there was four total, other than that, I'm pretty much in the dark about who's on the team."

Jinx:
Jinx nodded, feeling as though she had procured the information she needed. She didn't know what to think of Mr Quindaro but she felt as a person he was alright. She was about to answer him when the car pulled over to the side of the road and Birmingham spoke up," Alright! Miss Nyaga should be out shortly!"
Jinx's head shot up instantly,"Nyaga?!?!"

Zaara stepped out onto the sidewalk from inside of her little shop. From the outside, it appeared to look run down and less than loved. But on the inside told a completely different story. It was bright and colourful, soft music playing accompanied by the scent of sweet incense. A small window inlaid in the brickwork was the only thing giving away the secret. As she stepped down onto the rough pavement in her bare feet, the few people passing by gave her unapproving glances. Her long dreads laid against her shoulders and back, and the dress she wore swayed around her calves. She got glances like that more often then not, but still she sighed to herself. She held a small bag which contained her dearest possessions. Her crystal wand, chalk, and a few other things that made her feel close to home. And next to her was a suitcase with her clothing. A car approached and she looked at it for a moment, before turning back around to her shop.

"See you soon, mother..." she said softly, and from the window in the wall, she saw her mum smiling, and waved. She turned back and stared at the vehicle in awe for a few moments. Mr. Birmingham opened up his door and then proceeded to gather the other items she would be taking with her, placing it neatly with the others. He opened up the passenger door and she peered in only to see two people, and a small monkey staring back. She couldn't quite make out the woman's features but she smiled a little and got into the vehicle.

Mr Birmingham stepped out of the car, “Good Morrow, Miss Nyaga. Pleasure to meet the Voodoo Princess of East street. My niece Moira, says your love potion got her, her husband.”

He moved to open the door, bowing to her quickly, “Sorry for the rush, but we are running late. Mr Redmire and Miss Haven are located in the cabbie. They are also on the collection list.”

Jinx bit her lip moving over to poke her veiled head out of the door, “Ummm...Hi Zaara, Darling!...Uh How’s Moeder Nyaga doing?”

If blushing was a possibility she would be doing it ten fold, but her cheeks remained palid blueish white. Jinx thought back of her time in Kenya, performing her show for the people of Kendu Bay. She loved the area, the children giving her beautiful shells and fish. After only a few nights she had the honour of being invited to meet Zaara and her mother in their village. Their tribe was usually fairly closed to the outside world, so only she could enter the village. Edgar had been a bit miffed but understood that she should of course accept. She got along well with the women, opening up about her special gifts and her home. She remembered the warnings the old woman had given her, and her lack of realization of what was to come.

Zaara smiled softed as Mr. Birmingham mentioned a love potion she had given to his niece, Miora. A faint blush spread across her ebony cheeks and she nodded once. Just as she was shifting into the seat, she saw the woman poke her head forward a bit and she spoke. Her voice was familiar, and she realized that Mr. Birmingham had mentioned Haven. This woman knew who Zaara was, and she looked closer only to realize it was Jinx. Her eyes widened and her jaw opened up slightly in surprise. “Jinx…?” Zaara whispered. She didn’t know how to react and leaned in to hug the old friend.

Jinx slammed into the other side of the cabbie as Zaara came forward, fear moving up her spine at being found out but then again she longed to touch another human. Especially her friend. She spoke quietly, “Sorry..habit.”

She leaned in to hug Zaara back, her body cold and slightly thin. She pulled away after a few minutes, her voice warm and slightly emotional, “I’m sorry I haven't kept in touch...when did you decide to move to England?”

Zaara hugged Jinx and she felt cold and strange. When she pulled back she tried to get a look at her face, but couldn’t see clearly through the lace. She lifted one shoulder up into a shrug when Jinx apologized for not keeping in touch.

“Things happen love. I’ve been here for quite some time…” Zaara realized then that it wasn’t just herself and Jinx in her company. She turned a little to get a look at the gentleman. “My name is Zaara… Sorry to have ignored you.”

Jinx gave a brief smile, then lifted her hand to speak for the other guest, “Yes I suppose they do. This is Mr. Redmire. Astound alchemist and gunsmith apparently. Mr Redmire, this is Mrs Nyaga, a dear friend from the past. She harbors from Kenya, beautiful country if you ever have the opportunity to visit there.”

Looking out to where they had stopped, it looked like the shop that he’d heard about, but never had a chance to actually visit. He simply sat and observed. This woman, Mrs. Nyaga, she was unique and quite out of place for England, at least that was one thought, but if she knew of the voodoo arts then, then for this ministry, he could see the use of having her. He took a moment to puff on the pipe as he looked off into the busy street, watching another cabbie pass by. His thoughts wandered until he heard his name said.

Looking back over he pulled the pipe from his mouth and tipped his tophat to Mrs. Nyaga, “Not a problem, from the looks of it, you two are good friends. I wouldn’t wish to interrupt your reunion.” He said smiling at her as, Miss Haven introduced him further to Mrs. Nyaga. “Well it’s pleasant to meet you. Now unfortunately I haven’t been to Kenya though I’ve heard many good things, not to mention at some point when this organization is through with me, or on a vacation of some kind, I hope to visit.” He held the pipe in his mouth once more and puffed on it a few times.

Jinx, pet Esmeralda quietly, listening to Quindaro before chirping in, “HIghly recommended. Wonderful people. Edgar and I couldn't stop raving...about it.”

Her tone turned cold as she looked out the window, “Seems like ages ago!”

Zaara cleared her throat after there was a brief awkward silence from Jinx. “So, do you two know why you were summoned to the Ministry?” She was curious, and would rather listen to others than speak of herself.

“I suppose my ability to translate with the other side is seen as useful to them. Of course I’ve been...on retirement for years so I have no idea why they would want me specifically. Seems like everyone has the true gift nowadays! Madame Dupoff from Fleet street seems to have quite the show I hear.” Jinx responded sulkily, hating her old competition.

Shrugging slightly, he held the pipe as he spoke, “I’m guessing that ever since I stumbled upon a dig site outside my hometown, the ministry kept a record of me. Ever since, I’ve had experiences that are… Unbelievable to the average person... Not to mention my aptitude for mechanical work and Alchemy attracted them as well. Though that’s merely a guess.” He sat back in the seat and thought of the strange creatures he’d encountered ever since his moving to London.

Zaara simply nodded at the answers the two had given her, though refused to let on about her own abilities. She was very guarded, and even though she knew Jinx, it had been a very long time since she had last met with her in person. Many things had changed, and she wasn’t comfortable with giving herself away that quickly. She fell silent after a little while and simply enjoyed the ride to what would be her new ‘home’.

Alexander was already late for work this morning. It had been a rough last few days with the case he had just finished not only yesterday. Double murder of a young couple in the back ally's of London. "This place really has gone to the dogs." Alexander would say to himself almost every time after a case. Due to some peculiar ability's he had obtained, he was able to solve cases in no time. The crime rate in his district was quite low. "I better get going. The car will be at the station soon and I don't want to leave a bad first impression." Alexander looked at the time. He quickly grabbed his coat and scarf then ran out the door.

At the station, Alexander barged through the front door out of breath. "Are they hear yet?" He looked at the chief. "No Alex you're quite early actually. I don't know why you ran here. we have cars now, you should go get yourself one." Alexander just walked past and into his office after catching his breath. "You know I don't like them. Besides, they are quite expensive and I have better things to do with my money." The chief just rolled his eyes then walked away. Alexander smiled then shut the door. If he was to still wait then might as well get his paperwork filled out from the last case.

About an hour had passed and Alexander had finished all his paperwork. Jealous friend couldn't handle that his best friend was happy with someone else and decided to off them both for it. The man tried to escape but a little dog had seen the whole thing. Once able to find that dog, Alexander was able to catch the culprit. He confessed right away too. Must have been feeling guilty that he murdered his best friend. To bad too. The man was on his way to becoming a very successful business owner. A light knock on the door snapped him back into reality though. "Come in?" Alexander said timidly not really expecting the knock. "Sir your ride is here." A short man in a uniform poked his head through. "Oh thank you Watson. I'll be right out." Watson nodded and closed the door. "Well I guess I'm off to some institution now. i hear there are a few others going too. I wonder if they are already in the car or not." Alexander shrugged, grabbed his things and then left out the door.

A man was waiting for him outside the station. "Mr. Randgriz I presume?" Alexander looked at the man and shook his hand. "Yes that is me. Are the others in there too?" The man nodded his head then opened the door for him. "Oh thank you." He bowed his head lightly in thanks then got in. There were three other people in the car with him, all looking at him as he situated himself. "Oh hello. My names Alexander Randgriz. It's nice to meet all of you. From what I hear we will be working closely together for some time. I hope we can all get along."

Once the final passenger was picked up, Bellingham sped through the streets quickly, the car jarring occasionally through traffic. Ursa took initiative and spoke up warmly, eyeing the young detective through her lace cover, “My name is Miss Haven. A pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr Randgriz!

She turned to look out the window, continuing, “Apparently we all have a wide array of skills that would appear useful to our mysterious Mr. Weisskampf. I assume you also aren’t entirely sure why we are being brought together? Or what work we will be doing?

She waited for a response and nodded afterwards remaining quiet as the others made there introductions. After a short while later the car was out of the main part of the city, where buildings and brick streets were replaced by rolling hills and gravel roads. Large oaks and hemlocks began to build a deep forest that hid the already cloud covered sun. Suddenly the road led up to a tall iron barred gate attached to a thick concrete wall. Atop the two adjoining columns sat two large gargoyles, wings laid flat but teeth barred. As soon as the car pulled up, the gate opened slowly, allowing the vehicle to head into a massive garden. Hedges made to resemble bats and other fierce animals littered the yard along with thick veins of English Ivy and a large fountain with a group of half-naked sirens spilling water back into the ground. The garden was astounding but it was overshadowed by the expansive black mansion, overlooking the area. The house was a testament to gothic architecture, with expansive glass windows, sharply pointed spires, intricate gargoyle sculptures, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses. Jinx’s eyes were wide open, and when the car was parked, she got out of the cab with her mouth open. She again ignored Birmingham’s hand as she stepped out onto the gravel, “Bloody hell….Oh..Sorry..haha...I mean look at this place. It’s huge! Edgar's family home was quite spacious but it seems like only a townhome compared to this.

She looked towards the door which was like the mansion expansive and was set with two large sculptured wolf and bat door knockers. Mr Birmingham assisted Zarra out of the cab before he headed to the door and gave three knocks, before the door again opened inwards by itself. Mr Birmingham called the group, “Come along! Keep your hands to yourself and no wandering off. Ahh Mr Elroy. Here they are.”

A tall older man with short slicked back black hair, deep set grey eyes stared at the group a few feet in the entrance of the home carrying a beautifully gold inlaid candelabra. He was wearing an obvious butlers uniform and he spoke in a deep baritone, “You’re late. Mr. Birmingham.

Birmingham gulped pulling off his driving cap and staring at the ground, “Ay...The traffic was rough today. I apologiz..

Mr Elroy grimaced, “That will be all. You are dismissed for now. As for the rest of you...follow me to the drawing room. Mr. Weisskampf will be with you promptly.

Jinx followed behind quietly, leaning in towards Zaara, “Is it just me or does this place give you the creepies?

The drawing room was quiet large, with a large fireplace set into the opposite wall, and three large ornate couches surrounding it. Off to one side was a black felt billiards table, and a small bar set with multiple alcohols held in different sized decanters. Candles lit the room, but lamps were present on a few end tables. A few shelves of books and other strange curiosities, such as taxidermied animals, globes and masks gave the room an exotic touch. Jinx walked over towards one of the couches sitting down slowly as she looked around the room. She pulled off her coat to reveal a fitted black dress that was set with a high collar and long sleeves. She kept her gloves and hat on though before moving to sit at the far end couch, “Homey...Nothing like the carcass of a crow...to brighten up the day.

Quin kept silent throughout this leg as he finished his smoke and knocked the pipe clean outside the car. There were many more whisperings that he could hear, though they were more faint than they've ever been while present. Something about who he was with warded the whispers. Or perhaps there was something bigger...

His attention shifted upon the arrival of Mr.Randgriz, He gave the man a once over and noticed that he matched the description of one of the more famous detectives within the city. Rumors passed often about this man within the pubs, though Quin couldn't make anything of it. For the longest time, he thought he was the one going crazy. Well, until he had a run in with things that are slightly supernatural in form. As soon as Mr.Randgriz, Quin gave him a small grin.
"Welcome to this motley crew Mr.Randgriz. I'm Quindaro, glad to have a seasoned detective here as a colleague for whatever this ministry really is for." He said offering to shake his hand briefly before returning to his thoughts.

Slowly he realized they were pulling up to the estate, then immediately he felt a shift as soon as the oaks thickened the sky, there was a feeling, something was watching intently as the whispers intensified fully to the point where he almost could make out the words coherently. Then in a flash as soon as they crossed the gates, everything stopped immediately. No more whispers, no more being watched by the same being. Though there was a pulsing within this estate, something powerful magically. Something older, and it's something that wards off most magical beings that aren't permitted through the gates.

He continued to follow the group, his eyes found key parts of the structure, noting the Gothic architecture and giving a small chuckle, not many buildings follow this type of structure nowadays, though this building looked fit for royalty. As they made their way, he found he agreed with Miss Haven, the building itself was silent to him, more quiet than he was usually used to, the absence of the constant voices was more creepy than having a constant voice in his head.

As he walked into the Drawing room, he noticed it looked like the sitting room of some kind of hunter or exotic traveler. He approached the coat rack and removed his duster coat and tophat, revealing a newer model of a Mauser C96 in his shoulder holster along with a few pouches that held vials close to him on his belt. "Quite the collector, this Weisskampf... eccentric to say the least. Though I wonder..." He glanced at the bar, but then to the bookshelf and made his way over to it, running his fingers over the dusted spines of the books. Anthropology, Bestiaries, Technical notes, Maps, there was many books on different topics, though he had a feeling there were so many more books hidden further within the manor.

As the last passenger arrived in the car, Zaara looked at him curiously, though it was no surprise he was a white male. She stuck out like a sore thumb and despite having gotten mostly used to it, her stomach tightened. She breathed a long breath out through her nose and then simply nodded when Alexander introduced himself. He was a well known detective in the area, though she was curiously why that made him special.

After a while of the car speeding through traffic, they arrived at the most expansive manor she had ever seen. It was dark, though lit with candles and the like on the outside. Every detail was perfectly thought out. Zaara remained silent as she took in the architecture. A small smile crossed her lips though something felt strange inside the gates.

After a few moments they were lead inside to a drafting room, and she wandered about for a moment looking at all of the different items. Some of the things looked familiar form her homeland, others not so much. She squinted in the dim light and looked over to Jinx. She had taken her jacket off, though wore a form fitting black dress with long sleeves. She was just as beautiful as she remembered. Though something was very different. Everything about this entire situation was different though, so that wasn’t saying much. Finally Zaara sat down on one of the empty couches, and waited.
