Widowyn's March completely annihilated the lands beneath his feet. Widowyn's macabre troops cut through Estias. Hate was driven into the hearts of the survivors as villages and towns burned beneath the flames of hundreds of torches. Soldiers ripped apart the homes of families and stole the virtue of their young women. Salt was sown into the soil so that the land would forever be barren. King Leon called on every debt ever owed to the land of Estias. The strength of the half-orcs, the intelligence of the gnomes, and the wit of the elves all joined forces to destroy Widowyn's reign of terror.
It took weeks to break through the forces of orcs, goblins and bugbears. On a battleground drenched with blood, the stench of decay laying heavy in the air, the sun fighting to cut through the heavy fog, King Leon fought face to face with the evil sorcerer. Leon's blade cut through protection spell surrounding the General, and sliced across his chest. He fell, practically cloven in half, but not before sending out one last bolt of lighting straight into the neck of King Leon. The troops rushed in and were all thrown back 50 feet as the sorcerer embued the spell with the last of his life essence, before expelling his last breath. Though Widowyn's body was never found, his army of death dissipated upon hearing of his defeat. It's been months since King Leon fell, since the destruction of Widowyn's march. A new King has come to power, Leon's niece, the only royal survival. She is just, and strong of mind, a true leader. However, something seems off about this new King the last few weeks.
So what's a hero to do, when all has gone to chaos after the war? Towns are struggling to survive in the new world, after the destruction caused by the General. There are power struggles occurring between local rival houses, political campaigns have started, along with mysterious murders and extra coin in politicians pockets, and there's a new "king" taking over. Entire fleets have gone missing causing a famine at the local fishing town and you've caught wind that Ogres are worshiping a new idol - and no one seems to know exactly what it is. You don't exactly know how to live in this new world. Do you join the troops and become mercenaries to keep the chaos in check, or do you join the assassin's guild to pocket a little extra coin, at the cost of your morals? Perhaps you'll take a little time and travel from town to town finding yourself.
