@Prisk Oh, I'm sorry about that. Yeah, I can change the picture. I was intent on keeping it a mask and then much later reveal his image when the setting calls for it story-wise. I have to rummage through a couple of photos before I make my decision, but if you prefer it to be a photo rather than a stylistic design then I'm all for it!
Okay, so, we're going with @DeadDrop's art style, which also fits with the art that I have for the story itself. I'm currently searching for options myself.
As my work days are going, updates won't arrive until Friday through Sunday again. I'll respond to everything else, though.
Sorry my CS is taking so long. Not gonna lie, the writers in this RP are incredible, but also intimidating, and it's giving me writer's block hardcore.

Oh, don't worry about that at all. You'll fit right in from what I've seen. You know, good writers are usually very self-critical, so you are one of them.

@Prisk Updated the picture, hope its to your liking.
Also, @Lionhearted, I'm really excited to see what you come up with. You're not the only one who got nervous when others started posting their work; I completely revised Venser's chronicle when @Sync dropped Korvo. So don't sweat it! Your character will be great.

A R T E M I S C H A S E β 27 β FEMALE β 5β10 βΊ
P R E S E N C E Artemis is an ever-changing woman. For years, she was commanded, ordered, and trained to become a mold crafted by a system of leaders who relentlessly strived for control. Once bound by the chains of manipulation, she has broken free to become anew with bursting emotions that she can freely express without fear of consequences. The next chapter of her life unfolded into a complex chain of new beginnings, granting her the key to unlock so many doors that she never realized were available to her. Whom was once compliant and unresisting to her fearful overseers, has become a woman of fortitude while retaining the might of her zealous heart.
A soldier, a spy, a killer, an eliteβthey demanded it all. All in which she longs to forget, but stains her body and mind worse than the blood of her victims. Of the titles she collected, her pride remained on oneβa protector. Although it came from sinister origins, the title sparked within her a hope for independence in which she now relishes in. Artemis is truly a protector, defending those that cannot defend themselves, or those that she deems worthy of protection. She rises from the ashes of the past, seeking nothing but to be greater than the woman she was yesterday, while remaining present to avoid her haunting roots. Eyes forward, she only glances back to realize the distance sheβs traveled and the adversities sheβs overcome.
Talented as Artemis may be, her charm doesnβt match her captivating beauty as her serious personality stays firm as steel. Her threatening blue eyes, that give both salvation and fear, glisten with ambition and pierce like a bullet. Her long, blonde hair shines even in the midst of combat and her body remains strong and toned while possessing a feminine curve. Romance has never been her strong suit, valuing her closed walls too much to protect her dignity and her new-found independence.
C H R O N I C L E βThey called me the valkyrie.β
Soaring in various aircrafts, her escape has always been within the sky. Becoming a pilot of the Devlon Industries was always an honor, but Artemis strived to master this skill set, craving the high altitudes in times of stress or pain. The way the earth looked so small and the ability to travel far away from her troubles created the perfect outlet for a confined girl. Although she could run, she would always return, but with readiness to face her problems head-on. Artemisβ love for flying was soon noted, and what was a hobby was predictably turned into a way of killing. So she learned the controls of a much different aircraft, ones with complex components that dominated the skies and really placed the unionβs name within the domain. With careful learning, they soon built her a signature war jet in which people identified as her pegasus, which made the jet adopt itβs winged aesthetics. Within it was herβArtemis, the Valkyrie.
"I did it all for him. I did everything for him."
The title made her father proud, the man that steered her life into a twisted, robotic destiny that was predetermined since her birth. While their connection was built on a foundation of fear and authority, she held onto the faint love tighter than her gun, despite its sparse existence. This caused her to obey for the sake of the bond she struggled to have, causing her to obediently become a needed weapon for the Devlon Industries. Artemis trained hard with mixed emotions that were bottled up beneath her soul, aching to unleash them, but burying them harshly.
"At times I felt like a robot, incapable of being my own person. And still, I did it for him."
Thus, Artemis proceeded with her life, doing as she was demanded, and performing her best with every task. From spying, to sending messages, to killing without reasonβher life was made for her, but with only darkness to look forward to. Since the day she could remember, she had never made a choice of her own and held her opinions back, moving like a pawn in an army, utilizing her combined battle prowess with her eonic powers to become an icon of both hope and destruction for her union. She was known by many, and respected by many, yet the respect from her father was harder than wrestling a lion. Still, she fought, with strength and vigor, until her eyes could see beyond the darkness that adhered to her fate. What lied ahead was nothing but a repetitive life full of blood on her hands and knives in her back.
"Selfish as I was, I finally demanded my life back."
So Artemis opened her mind and unchained her soul, casting out her emotions and accepting the consequences of doing so. Her disobedience was accounted for, and her life was grasped tighter than what it was before, restricting her freedom in anyway that they couldβbut she evaded. Slipping through their fingers like water, like she was trained to do, Artemis broke free of their painful grip and attempted to lead a rebellion against the Devlon Industries. Although she wreaked havoc upon her controllers, she failed to overthrow the union and came out alone, despite the many followers she was able to muster.
"But does my fate lie at the point of his gun?"
Amidst the rebellion and behind the demolished buildings and ruthless killing, she came out with her treasured independence, but also her self-blame upon failing her loyal advocates just for the sake of, what she considered, a selfish act. So she escapedβsoaring on her pegasus and through the dangerous skies, only to be shot down after a long chase through neutral terrain.
"I've accepted death long ago, but I somehow manage to flee from it's crosshairs."
Artemis, reluctantly, made it out alive, finding refuge in Helston. There, she kept her head low, and lived minimalistically thereafter. She got a job at a bakery and learned to love the art, soon taking it over from the elderly lady that opened it.
The tape continued to play among the broken and shattered parts of her pegasus, Artemisβ voice shaking with emotion.
βI remember being captivated by the colors of the field my father took me to when I was a little girl. I was so afraid to release the euphoria that encompassed my body, but he could see the shaking smile that I just couldnβt hold back. So he told me it was okay. Pinkβthat became my favorite color. The way the lotus petals danced around me pulled the strings of my condemned spirit, causing me to run around in a fit of joy, but I remember constantly looking over my shoulder at him to make sure that he didnβt have a change of heart. Itβs a memorable moment for me, from the innocent happiness that I could finally let out. . .but also from the beauty turned evil.
He told me about the lotus flower, how itβs bloom used to be celebrated by many because they only survived for so long. Everything has meaning. Just like my purpose on this earth, the flowers, too, had a predetermined meaning. 'The shortness of life' he said. The flowers resembled the shortness of life, the lives that I would end, the insignificance of survival without purposeβall shattering the beauty I saw in the moment and turning my smile back into my frown. And yet, I remember this so vividly, even as I pressed the barrel of my gun against the head of my father, the commander of the Devlon Industries. I soon realized that he wasnβt the one that kept me aflame, but instead, he ignited the fire in my soul and I learned to nurture it.
Who knew I would be the one to send him to his grave. But stillβI love him.β
M E M O R I E S Meredith Evans - The elderly woman that generously took in Artemis. Artemis hasnβt shared her history with her, but Meredith always said she could see peopleβs colors. Almost like a fortune-teller, Meredith always tells Artemis that her future is bright, and her aura is warming. The sweet woman is as sharp as a tack and still moves freely despite her aging body. Artemis has a very high respect for the woman, and would do anything for her.
Steven - A bartender at a local pub that she visits often. Although she befriends nobody, she enjoys the company of the kind, burly man that serves her alcohol after a long day. Their conversation usually brightens her mood and helps her to forget her constant pain.
Jayce - A loyal customer to the bakery, coming in more times than he should in a week. Itβs obvious that he has a crush on Artemis, but he knows that heβll only face rejection.
@Sync@GodOfWar@Lionhearted@DeadDrop Updating the character tab today. You are all free to post your character sheets there once I've posted the first post. I'm also writing my own character sheet(s). I'll also start writing the opening In-Character. I don't know how far I will get, but I'll keep everyone updated, daily, about the progress.
I claimed the first post in the character tab, so go ahead and post your character sheets in hiders. I'm still thinking about what I should put in the first post of the character tab, but I'll update it once I know what makes sense beside links to character sheets.
Here is my own character. There might be an opportunity for acquaintances, but it's up to you guys. My mind is a bit distracted by the first IC-post, which I'm working on. It could be up this weekend, already.
A L I C E D A R I N A β 23 β Female β 5'4 βΊ
P R E S E N C E Alice is a peculiar soul. Seemingly an aged mind within a youthful frame, she speaks with mellow tones and moves with fluid grace. However, she has always felt a strange kind of emptiness deep inside, as if something is missing. Surely she has loved and lost, but this feeling transcends petty things on the surface of life. She has always gazed upon the night sky and its brilliant stars, wishing to be part of something greater. The only problem was that Alice never knew what that was or would be. She thought about joining the resistance forces and fighting the unions, but it never happened. That, too, was pointless quarreling without deeper purpose.
Alice usually wears simple outfits. She has a trusty jacket of dark color, sweaters of light colors, and slimmed jeans and leggings to go with comfortable sneakers. Her facial features are petite and streamlined and clad with haunting, blue eyes. The hair, of dark brown, is often kept short and tidy just above the shoulders. Being rather short and slender makes Alice agile and rather fast in her movements, also able to squeeze into and through narrow spaces. If she has to hide her face in public, Alice uses a simple scarf mask of stretchy fabrics and dark color that covers everything from the eyes down.
Alice has a polite attitude towards most people. She is the kind of person that only breaks into the private and personal on rare occasions. Alice is an extremely normal person on the surface. She has realized that most people cannot or do not want to handle thoughts or discussions of heavier substance. At most, she will talk about union politics with those who initiate such a conversation, but Alice will never spark it herself. However, she longs for relationships with people that are different, that are driven by something else other than work, parties, and the Net addiction. She wants to tumble down the rabbit hole, she wants to experience something out of the ordinary, she wants to discover the world beyond Helston.
C H R O N I C L E Alice was born and raised in Helston. She is a native of the Neutral Zone and has never known life within the unions. However, both of her parents grew up without much privacy or peace in their hearts. Eventually, they were able to escape and settle down and find work within the Neutral Zone, which lead to forming a family. Alice is the oldest of three children. Being who she is, a calm and good spirit, Alice spent a lot of her time taking decent care of her siblings whenever the need for it rose. Alas, after she moved away from home, having secured a job and her own place, the time spent with family as a whole as decreased. However, if possible, the family have dinner every weekend and celebrate all major holidays together.
A great deal of time was spent with a boy in High School. They were not together as a couple in the traditional sense, nor were they ever romantic, but they seemed to sync quite well. The family even got to know him almost as a member of it. He spent plenty of time over at the house either studying or just hanging out with Alice. It was not until the very end that the two of them realized deeper feelings for one another. Unfortunately, that future timeline was interrupted by a series of tragedies in his life, which caused him to disappear from Helston one day. Alice was completely left to wonder why it came to be this way. One day he was simply gone. It took Alice quite some time to forget and move on. She tried to search for him, but nobody had seen anyone fitting the description. However, his name and memory still lingers in her heart.
Aliceβs focus in High School was melee combat. Every student had focus studies in the last year with a wide range of selections. Even if the world is primarily one of ranged warfare, there are more than a few instances where modern melee weaponry is effective. Many of those scenarios involve close quarter combat, of course, but classes in the focus also teach how to reduce distance by using the environment and other means. The training was comparable to most martial arts practices. Alice can apply the same techniques even without proper weapons or use whatever makeshift option that is available.
Alice works at a supermarket in Helston. She usually sits at the checkout, but also stocks shelves and handle orders. Alice has worked at the supermarket for two years, ever since she moved out from her parents and got her own place. The pay is fair and she has enough left over after the bills have been paid every month. Alice has not thought about what she wants to do with her life all that much. Life is good as it is now, so she figures that things will just go with the flow. The days of the year pass relatively easy. Alice usually plays video games after work during the week, and then spends time with friends and family on the weekends.
M E M O R I E S Max Andonov βΊ There might be too many memories surrounding this boy. He was the only one who ever was able to fill that void in her heart. On the last day that they saw each other, he gave her a sealed letter. He told her to open it on a difficult day in her life. Alice still has not opened it and she keeps it with her every day. She hopes to see him again, but she fears that venturing out into the dark world is required for that to happen.
Terribly excited to see the opening post! Everyone's character turned out excellent too, and although I technically did introduced Korvo in the sheet, I'll start thinking of ways to actually make an introduction post.
