Ok, put it in the CS tab with some minor edits to help deal with aforementioned concerns about knowledge of the race in general and about the invisible tail.

@Rydude17 Also was wondering relative to ours what time period does this take place in pre-armegeddon? As since the Manhattan project we have had about 70 years of advancements especially with weapons technology.

@Lurking Shadow I’d say that in terms of technology we’re definitely closer to 2000 than 1940, but I dunno when specifically. What do you guys think?

far as me personally I'm indifferent. I'm more familiar with the tools available in the earlier era as a solid fourth of my CoC sessions take place in that time but I have done plenty in the modern era (which generally take place between 2000 and 2010). Although we have some pretty cool technology now such as curved barrels on guns allowing one to shoot around corners, and the US Navy was doing pretty well on making railguns, the latest prototype able to fire 23lb ammo at a speed over 5000mph.

I think it’s more important to consider how the technology that’s available would affect regular survivors in the apocalypse. Our characters are not likely to have the cutting-edge experimental weapons tech because, frankly, we’re mostly a bunch of random civilians. I’m mostly thinking about stuff that either would not exist any more that our characters would miss from pre-nuclear life (ie: tv, the internet, coffee, electricity in every home, PLUMBING), or things that would still be around that would be helpful for survival (ie, flashlights, Walkie-Talkies, assault rifles, HAM radios or solar panels). I imagine that since magic exists in this world, they’re probably more technologically advanced in certain areas (after all, magic is a seemingly unlimited energy source if you know how to use it) but it’s also possible that magic slowed technological advancement because it meant there was reduced necessity for it. Really depends on your perspective, I suppose.

I don’t think that our apocalypse will have laser guns but it’s also probably gonna have communities which use magic, solar or wind power to keep the lights on.

The other side of it is also that a lot of 'cutting edge' things do require electricity as @Rydude17 said, and they tend to be sort of delicate. A "Corner shot" isn't as likely to last through post-apocalyptic 'wear and and tear' as say, an old AK-47. I like where we seem to be sitting, but I am admittedly using more anachronistic gear.

Well, I did figure it'd be something like Mad Max where anything really interesting was probably turned into scrap long ago, I was thinking about the idea of some long lost cache of unused military grade equipment (which even if defective due to age or certain resources being in short supply would still make good scrap). Though anything of the sort would likely have already been picked clean, false information, or outright a trap.

@Rydude17 So are we going to wait for more interest or are you thinking of getting this started with the 4 we have now? I'd be fine with either.

@Lurking Shadow I’ll start this soon, I’ve just been kept very busy with real-life stuff lately and haven’t had the time.

@Rydude17 @Sythe2107 @Lurking Shadow Maybe poke your interest again to see if you can stir up another couple. But I am ready and eager to kick this party off. I mean shouldn't be too hard to bring in some late entries.

I have some ideas for additional characters, so if it feels like we need more I can always bring in a Half-Orc I have in mind.

Writing up the starting post now, I went and made it the Zeroth, I dunno if that’s typically how you start these off.

One thing I wasn't sure about, forgive me if this is a bit of a newbie question. We're intended to post one after the other in a rotation correct? Rather than simply posting until the next GM post?

I was going to try to make a post today or tomorrow. Was initially waiting on GM but will soon be taking a brief break away from my PC to visit family so I want to make a post so there isn't too long a gap between my activity. I'll be leaving tomorrow for about a week.

You guys post whenever you’re able, I don’t see any need to stick to a rotation. I’ve been kept very busy with the holiday season and real-life things lately but if someone else has a post to make, post it! Don’t wait on my behalf.

Hey there,
Just checking in to see that everything and everyone is alright. Haven't heard from @Rydude17 in quite a while. Hope everything went well with the holidays.
