His nose is reddened from drinking alcohol and his eyes are bloodshot frequently. He wears his greying brown hair in a high and tight or flat top haircut with no facial hair. His blue eyes twinkle when he smiles, but that is rare. The pinkie finger on his left hand is missing, lost during combat during World War II.

Disabilities: LTC Murphy has been injured in combat but suffers from no debilitating physical injury. Psychologically, he has some memories he would rather forget.

Assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He missed the Tennessee maneuvers, but joined the unit as they were shipping out from New York City to their base in England.

1944 – Participated in the Normandy Campaign, jumping with the 101st on D-Day.

Personality: LTC Murphy is an introvert at heart. He prefers to remain quiet, keeping things close to the vest. He has gotten to where he is now, leading by example; from the front. He speaks when it is important to do so. His words are clear and concise. He has little patience for those who do not understand what he says or is not listening. If they don’t feel what he says is important, neither are they important. When intoxicated, LTC Murphy is the life of the party. He becomes a regular extrovert; definitely a happy drunk. Murph takes his job very serious and believes in the American cause in Vietnam.
Likes: Baseball/Boston Red Sox, his family, the United States of America and the soldiers of his command.
Dislikes: slackers, people who do not take their job seriously, those who would disregard the US Army regulations so flagrantly.

He has a slight five O'clock shadow on his bear, but posses dark auburn hair. His eye color is green, yet they're in a darker shade of green. He doesn't show a lot of facial expressions, but will laugh and smile when told a good joke. 

Disabilities: May or may not be on the Autistic spectrum, but he's too high functioning to know.

Known addictions: He binge eats when nervous, but not too much.

Personality: Many find Samson slightly off, yet people who get to know him know he means well. While he's known to be slightly introverted and has trouble showing exact facial expressions, he still is very dedicated to his combat role and is willing to help his comrades out in the field. While he shows signs of slight obsessive behavior, he is nevertheless functional and will carry out orders when needed. Samson also has a fondness of animals and wildlife in general. 

Likes: Animals and birds, medical interests and pursuits, flying in choppers, bluegrass and country music.

Dislikes: Loud noises, certain smells, the smell of cigarette smoke, seeing dead animals.
