I finally read the OP, included the codewords, and some further explanation on Market powers and connections to other spheres. She'll have plenty to do even before markets become a thing, probably claiming other portfolios.

Also added a bit that says Choppy keeps knives in her hair, because of course she does.

@Cyclone For Portfolios I'm think about going towards Wisdom and Knowledge for now and maybe Interpretation if it comes to that. For Cluster I think Understanding would work or maybe I'll ditch Knowledge as a Portfolio and turn it into a Cluster instead.

When it comes to the effects of his Sphere maybe I can have the stars provide some guidance to people when they learn how to trace them like we did in the past. As for the stars themselves they're just a backdrop, one that can't ever be reached. And I talked with Strange Rodent about his Maze being visible from the Observatory. I talked with Crispy Octopus too and he seems fine with his garden being visible too, but just the comet form. I need to talk with the other players on the Celestial Spheres to be perfectly sure of it, but I think it's fine for their Spheres to be visible from the Observatory in some way.

As for his personality I'll have him go to Galbar in person a couple of times to experience things for himself and spread his knowledge. I already have plans for him making the first books when humans become sufficiently advanced. Although I really can't promise any interactions in conflicts I think I can handle his character without too much trouble. And I'll of course expand his character as things develop IC.

I am interested in the Storms Portfolio. The elemental space is rather crowded in Mk 3, though, so I'll have to see what other Portfolios are good as I go.

So what are people gunning for in terms of second portfolios?

At the moment I'm aiming for Remedy. Basically a cooler word for healing or repair. Fixing what's broken, more or less.

Plan rn is to snatch brewing and fertility. Fertility is ways off, though, so if anyone else wants it, I'm willing to give it away.

I got me a list. First on that list is Illusions, though. I'm shooting for the Enigma cluster, so I've got quite a bit to grab :D

@Slime

Merely being able to see other Spheres from your own (and not vice-versa?) is not the sort of interaction or connection that I meant. It's almost a given that most of the Celestial Spheres that occupy true space can see one another.

Dismissing the stars in Observatory as "just a backdrop" is also wasting the chance to make something that could have been interesting. See how some stars are Katharsos' pyres, for instance.

I don't think you're using your Sphere to anywhere near its potential.

Also,

An observation I've had but haven't brought up is that the RP seems to put more emphasis on primordial gods than conceptual gods, at least with the way the beginning is structured.

Because the RP starts with the architect inviting a bunch of divine helpers to build the world, primordial portfolios like water, earth, sky, wind, life, fire, etc. would be valuable. Life, let alone *intelligent* life, has not existed outside of the gods themselves. So human concepts are much more flimsy in comparison. What need does a universe without humans have for a god of war, knowledge, agriculture, etc.?

Unless I'm mistaken, the RP assumes the gods all arrive at the same time and start doing whatever they will. In order for life to develop, there has to be certain conditions on Galbar - the establishment of which is the domain of the primordial gods. Until then, there is no need for a god of family or love, because the groundwork is still being laid out. What should be a multi-step process of worldbuilding is made awkward by only one wave of gods, who's portfolios include both the concrete and abstract. Yet the conditions for some gods to start their work will not be met for some time.

There are a few assumptions here that might seem logical but are wrong when looked at the past examples of the five Divinus RPs that happened. I think I had this same discussion with Crispy way earlier in the conceptual phase of Mk 3

We have had plenty of gods of things that would only exist much later, and none had trouble justifying themselves.
Because landscaping, shaping the flora, fauna, creating species, are all aspects free for all gods to do. So what does a god of blacksmithing does? He makes sure there will be metals. A god of agriculture might want to make lush plains that will be fit for farming and to explore the world for plants that can be tamed. A god of justice might start working on creating divine enforcers in the form of angels and then make a mountain chain that nests the main fortress of said angels.

You yourself touch this.

Yet the conditions for some gods to start their work will not be built for some time.

And who must make sure the conditions are met?

Now, why MK3 is so primordial focused? I can see a few reasons.

For Mk2 players, you have the fact Mk2, of all divinus games, reached the most technological and social advancement in the three years it lasted. For the last year and a half it basically evolved into a lot of mortal interaction, nation-building focused RPs, and so on. A lot of players might want a change of pace, and thus, go for something entirely different than what they did before.

For new players, well, its hard to judge, each has their backgrounds. Some came from other God RPs that worked very differently, like Tabrasa, others come from Nation RPs, which have a focus on territorialism, which might make the lure of sticking your flag on something primordial seem like a good opening move.

Then there is the ground of the power downgrade gods received, making it so a primordial realm has clear cut utility while a more complex one needs a lot of justification. I think that has to do with a mindset of abilities and portfolios as RPG-like skills instead of tools of roleplay that will define how your god move, fight, rest, blesses, curses, among many other things.

Adding to what Capy said, I'll point out that we got a lot of hype and attention. I knew that there'd be more than 10 people and expected around 15, but we have...26? Usually things are a bit more organic and spread out because many players join a bit later on as demigods who can cover the later advancements and take more humanistic Portfolios. That might well still be the case, but with only so many Portfolios we have a lot of the starting gods taking on more abstract things as well.

Likely Murder, Predation or something similarly adaptable, with an aim for a cluster of Violence or Strife (more vague, but doesn't it sound that much better?).
