"Look Alive Sunshine... ...1-0-9 in the sky but the pigs won't quit! You're here with me, Dr. Death Defying. I'll be your Surgeon, your Procter, your Helicopter, bumping out the slaughtermatic sounds to keep you live."
Listen kid, I'll be straight with you. I haven't 100% figured out where this story is gonna go just yet, but it's about the journey, right?
Basically, I'm thinking about writing up a little something that'll take place in the setting presented to us by the Danger Days album and The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys Comic series. There's definetely gonna be some big-o changes and you can keep your ear on the pavement here for updates and goings-ons. But, I figured with all the hype being brought by Netflix making a show outta Gerald's Umbrella Academy, we should shine a little light on the Danger Days. Anyways, let me lay out what I've come up with so far.
The Fun Zone
The Last free place on Earth, or well, Australia. The only region of land that survived the wars and it's fuckin' Australia. Don't get me wrong, it's still an irradiated wasteland filled with shit that'll kill ya', but it's home. The center-most bits is where the fun-zone is, as the areas closer to water have been able to become more civilized. Well, as civilized as a Bee-Hive can be. Whether you were born out here in the dry lands or were stupid enough to run from Utopia, this is where people that ain't fond of being drugged or having vampire masks thrown on their head and assimilated go to live and (mostly) die. There's a handful of tent cities, but for the most part people just wander the land alone, listening to the radio and sucking on dead lizards to stay alive. The sun kills them faster than the withdrawals. For the people that survive long enough, the hard life, radiation and other shit grant them a fun little ability called an "Addition."
Utopia
Ah Utopia, the ring around the Rosie as it were, if you can call the Fun Zone a Rosie. Utopia is a vast city covering the coasts of the big island, close to the water, rain, and everything else you need to cultivate a colony. Including worker bees, of which there is no short supply. The people here either wear those stupid vampire masks or get drugged up to stay compliant. Unlike wasters however, it's rare for people that live within Utopia to develop "additions."
The year this whole shebang starts off is 2104, the world more or less ended back in 2019. Nuclear apocalypse, climate change, the works. In short, the whole planet went to shit and the continent of Australia was all that was left over. The entire Island looked like The Fun Zone for a long, long time. Until the Colony got some foothold that is. They were the first to discover their additions, and they are some of the most powerful additionals to this day. The Colony really came on the scene around 45-50 years ago, somewhere between 2055 and 2060. But once they got the ball rolling they didn't stop, strangely enough all of the originals are still around, and rumor has it they don't look a day older than they did decades ago. They're the ones that built Utopia, and as the Fun Zone becomes more and more habitable, Utopia expands further and further inwards.
Technology went pretty crazy thanks to The Colony, laser guns are the norm in both The Fun Zone and Utopia, flying cars, hover-boards, all that shit. If you want a reference point, look to media like Altered Carbon, or Blade Runner. Everything is Nuclear, so you don't have to worry about things like fuel or ammunition.
The Colony, who are they? Only Dr. Death Defying knows, and you'll get ghosted before you find his radio-station. All we know is they've got an army of freaks in vampire masks that can show up anywhere, anytime thanks to those fucking backpacks of theirs. They keep backups of those masks, and you better make sure you die before they can get one on you, otherwise you'll become one of them. Most importantly, remember to keep your mask on, because if they see your face they can find you no matter where you run.
They're the ones that drug up the civilians of Utopia to keep em calm, they're the ones building on the edge of the fun zone, and more than anything else, they're the one's you've gotta get out of the picture if you want to survive.
The Killjoys, the freedom fighters, the fun-zone assholes who can't just die in that damned desert and leave Utopia the hell alone. They've all got Additions, addictions, and guns to spare. You can spot em with their masks and colorful clothes, and if you hear 109 playing loud, chances are they ain't far.
The Plot is going to be karmatic, and introduced by Dr. Death Defying over the airwaves. The PC's will be introduced with a handful of choices throughout the RP that they'll cast literal votes on. For the most part, everybody but my PC will be almost completely in the dark, and even my PC won't know too much more than the others. The way this story ends depends entirely on the choices the Killjoys make.
Character Creation
So here's the gist. Character creation sheets are gonna be pretty bare boned, I'm talking code-name, costume, and addition (which you've probably figured out by now is a power). This is a random group of wastelanders that got banded together by fate, and they're not going to know more about each other than that, unless you decide to let your character divulge information about their past IC. As for additions, I have a feel for what would and wouldn't work well in this universe so just be willing to work with me on those. As for character creations, their names got to be original and sorta follow the Killjoy formula, (Dr. Death Defying, Party Poison, Fun Ghoul, Jet Star, Cobra Kid etc.) Have fun with it. If you're one of the first in and you decide you want to have your character wear the digs of one of the Band members, or even look like one of them, go right ahead. Just don't go stepping on toes.
Name: (There's no real names in the Fun Zone, after all, there's no parents around to correct a kid) Appearance: (Use whatever you like, a description, a picture, a mix of the two. Doesn't matter much to me) An insert by Dr. Death Defying: (You can try writing one yourself, or you can just ask me to make one for you.) Name of Addition: (Just what the Character will call their ability, definitely discuss this with me, other characters will just have to find out what you can do through experiance.)
Atomic Angel
"Ol' Atomic Angel, Ancient of the Apocalypse and Curator of the Killjoys, you see that white hair you better play fair or else grand-daddy'll cut you down faster than the colony. He's the last of the old and the first of the new, so if freedom's got a fight left you can bet that he's fighting too."
The Big Gray Cloud
Well, that's what I've got so far. Let me know what you think, and feel free to ask all the questions you like! The more questions I get, the better I can flesh this world out.

I'm definitely interested, and I love this whole concept, as well as the Killjoys. I would love to join if you're still allowing people to. Although, this is my first time using this website and I haven't rped in a while, so I'm a bit rusty.
