I didn't watch children's shows. By the time I was six, we were *just* getting our first ever TV, I was only allowed to watch it on weekends, and it was usually the sci-fi channel.
When I was 6 we didn't have the Sci-Fi channel or the SyFy channel. When I was 6 we had four channels; ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS. My father had a remote. It worked like this, "Hey
Gunther! Go change the channel!" Forget about DVR or even VCR. Those didn't exist yet. I recall watching Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, The Odd Couple, and Brady Bunch. Cartoons happened once a week on Saturday morning. I would get up early on Saturday just to watch my favorite shows. Oh yea, my dad used my real name, which is not, Gunther. ;)
