Rules:
- Character Sheets are to be PM'd (Private Messaged) to me. WIPs (Works-in-Progress) are not accepted in the OOC (Out-of-Character) or Character Tabs.
- Character Sheets are to be kept and maintained in the Character Tab once posted. Anything not in your character's sheet cannot be utilized ICly.
- Each player may post in the IC (In-Character) Tab once after each of my posts unless otherwise specified.
- Conversations between player characters are to be collaborated and posted as a single post.
- No Meta-gaming.
- Subscribe to this thread.
- This list is subject to change at any time.

Items to discuss before starting:
- Rolls: To Hit and Damage Rolls will be rolled during your post. Use the "Dice" function on this sites Home page. Link the results into the post however you wish (link associating phrase, hider at end of post, in the post itself).
Skill Checks can be made by players based off their post. If I feel a Skill Check is required after the post has been submitted, I will request you roll for that Skill and add it to that post however you see fit.
Saving Throws will be prompted by me in the OOC section. Post the link of the result either OOCly or through PM (however determined by me) and I will add it into my next post.
If I ask for a roll in secret (through PM), please do not announce it OOCly.
Anything here is up for discussion. If you disagree or have another idea, please share in the OOC section.

- I would like to have a practice combat with each player before beginning this. It will be held over PM and will not be incorporated or considered canon for this RP (unless otherwise stated/determined)

- Describing rolls: AC - 10+DEX means you dodged, over that, would hit the armor, (insert shield AC wherever or after armor). This could be a suggestion or something we try to stick to while writing.

- Invite whomever you wish to join. :)

- Thread will be set as "Full" for now. That may/will change.

- Any other topics that should be discussed or addressed, feel free to bring up.

What level are we starting at?

How many characters can we have?

How are we generating characters (standard array, point buy, roll)?
Can we use DnD Beyond to generate our characters? (As a note, if you create a campaign in DnD Beyond, then I can join it and share content so everyone has access to everything, but you're still the DM and I can't see anything as far as notes go.)
Additionally, how do you want our characters to know each other, or otherwise come together in the first place? Are we just going to do the standard hook?
Any additional equipment you'll allow us to start with? Do we have to take starting equipment, or can we roll for gold?
How much background do you want for our characters, and would you use any of a background in the game?
Do we care about alignment and PBIFs? (personality, bond, ideal, flaw)

Is anything banned? i.e. races (eberron/ravnica), items, classes, multi-classing, backgrounds, feats, etc.

I don't know how any of this works, but if this thread is set as "full", then how would we invite people?

What alternative rules are we allowing? (flanking, drink potion as bonus action, gritty realism, etc.)

How much do we want to RP in general? Are we just going to be murder-hobos?

Flanking is in the DMG, so that's not an alternative rule. Otherwise I'm going to keep to RAW, but won't disregard RAI or RAC (rules as cool).

Questions; what are WIPs and can you extrapolate on the Describing rolls.
Everything sounds good to me as you have described.
Opinions; My vote is for one character each until such a time as character death. I am, however, flexible. My opinion is it is meta to create and play more than one character. Also given the format I think it would be too slow to have to play/interact with/read so many characters via posting. That being said, if the DM would like to ask one of the players to run a NPC or something like that I'm totally cool with that. I think we should start at level 0 or 1. I think we should start with the starting equipment stated in the rules I think backgrounds should be used as much as possible. I think anything within the dnd 5e books should be allowed. Basically I think we should try to stick with the rules as much as possible. This will help reduce any possible confusion or disagreements, making the DMs job easier. Also will make it easier for others to join and play.
I would like to have a good amount of RP, maybe one bigger battle a month? Possibly set a time where we can all get together on discord or something and play out a battle.
I will check out the dndbeyond character creation. I think it would be a good supplement but it shouldn't be mandatory.
All of the above are only my preferences, and I welcome everyone else's opinions. I look forward to setting up a campaign that will be fun for all of us!

If you want to try out dndbeyond for character creation, I would suggest waiting until @Phoenix creates a campaign and adds me to it so I can enable content sharing, so then you have access to everything. :)

But ultimately, I was just asking if that method of character creation was acceptable for me to use, seeing as I'm rather lazy and don't want to have to type it all out. ;)

I'm leaning toward one character each. But if there aren't enough players and it's just you two, I'll be inclined to allow (not mandate) two characters each.
I don't think "meta" really fits here. I mean, with a new player that's here only to "win," yes, they'll use that to their advantage. But they're just going to have the insight of those two characters, which isn't terribly advantageous, but can certainly be if enough effort is put into it. Meta-gaming is also not allowed, anyway. So anything that's deemed inappropriate will be requested to be edited in the post.

That's why I added that collaborations are mandatory for the most part.

This will largely depend on character decisions. The beginning of this campaign is (likely) a combat scenario followed by light travel then another (likely) combat scenario. If that seems too daunting, we could get together in person for the first session and then I could get a summary written up and post it here and then we continue from there.

Indeed. Beyond can be used as a supplement, but is not required. In fact, Character Sheets are to be posted and frequently updated in the Character Tab (see OP (Original Post)).

However, the characters can just be created in the campaign "For Sam" that you created for me since we will not need to be referencing anything in Beyond here. It's going to be kept "in house" as much as possible to keep it as simple as possible.

Remember, only 12 individual characters can be in a campaign at one time, which is kinda why I suggested making a new campaign, but... we'll get there if we get there.

If you want to keep the format, "quote" the post and remove the "quote" tags at the beginning and end of the whole thing. If you don't want to keep the format, just make sure each item is filled out (or understood why it's not filled out). You're welcome to design your own format, though. Just make sure all pieces are there, please.
