youtube.com/watch?v=7XsKFVk8Sf0Evelyn meandered for a little bit outside, just wandering aimlessly along and thinking to herself, before she went inside. As she walked down the hall, she noticed a familiar face about to go into her office. Claudia was humming to herself rather cheerful, a spring in her step and everything. Evelyn figured the succubus finally hooked up with that teacher she was after, Miss Kassy. However, upon noticing her, the woman's smile gradually faded. Evelyn was scowling at her, shaking her head slowly in disapproval. Claudia sighed, letting the door handle slip from her slender fingers, and approached the bitter young girl cautiously.
~"Rough day already, Evvie?"~ She asked, a bit sympathetic but a slight perturbed. She just couldn't understand why Evelyn never smiled, why she never once felt...happy.
"When is it not?" Ev grumbled in reply.
"And quit calling me Evvie. I hate that."~"Fine..."~ Claudia sighed.
~"What's on your mind?"~Evelyn glanced off to the side of her, as if to look at anything else besides the damning eyes of Claudia upon her. She let out a sigh of her own, a deep, drawn out sigh,
"I got a text last night again....from mom."~"Really?"~ Claudia perked up.
~"Well, what did it say?"~"Just the usual." Evelyn responded dimly.
"That she wants to talk, but...I don't want to..."~"Oh..."~ Claudia frowned.
~"And I'm guessing you didn't reply, did you?"~Evelyn spat back,
"Hell no!" Her fists were curled into balls in the pockets of her hoodies, knuckles bulging with white hot intensity. Her voice was low and ragged, as if she was nearly in tears, but she fought them back.
"Why now? Why does she choose to show up like this out of the blue? She could've come back a long time ago, but she didn't! And now she expects me to just say it's okay she treated me and dad like shit for years! Like hell I will." Every word she spoke, they were dripping with venom from her lips. Her eyes were welling with tears, which she wiped away on the sleeve of her hoodie.
Claudia frowned even more, seeing this poor, pitiful girl in front of her. She tried to reach over, to place a comforting hand on Evelyn's shoulder, but bitterly, Evelyn shrugged away.
~"Evelyn..."~ Claudia whispered.
~"As your mother's servant... I can only tell you she loves you and wants to make things right with you again, but if you feel that you have to push her away, well....that's your loss, sweetie."~"So what're you saying, Clo?" Evelyn snapped.
"That I should forget all the bad shit she did, and forgive her? No. I would sooner die and go to Hell... Where was she when I needed her? When....when dad needed her..." She lowered her eyes to the ground, feeling the hot sting of tears in her eyes, the residual burn of it.
"You know what... I just want to forget this. I'm....I'm gonna go medicate..."She was about to leave, but Claudia stopped her again, a serious, almost stern look in her deep green eyes.
~"You're doing drugs again, aren't you?"~ She inquired.
~"My advice as a nurse, that is the WORST thing you could be doing right now, Evelyn."~"It's just weed, Clo." Ev growled under her breath.
"Take a chill pill. It helps me relax."~"It also damages your mind."~ Claudia bit in sharply, both hands firm on her hips as she stared down Evelyn.
~"AND your school reputation! Do you want to get kicked out, Ev? Your mother would kill us both if that happened!"~"Think I give a damn?"~"You should."~"Yeah, and why?" Ev grit her teeth.
"Because it'll make me happy, right? Great education, good life, all that bullshit."~"Ev, watch the language!"~"Shut up! You're not my parent, Clo! And neither is she! She could've been if she wasn't running off all the damn time, leaving dad to take care of me! Hell, she could've stepped in after dad....!" And with that...Evelyn busted out with rage,
"I hate her, alright! I f*cking hate her! So just leave me alone!" She stormed past Claudia, shoving the woman aside into the wall. Claudia staggered, nearly falling down, but she caught herself in time...but too late to stop Evelyn from trudging away. She watched as the young girl disappeared behind the corner, the footsteps of her rage, her anger, still echoing like distant thunder.
Mistress... I hope you realize the powder keg you have set off leaving your little girl alone... Sooner or later, I won't be able to keep Evelyn calm. She's descending into madness everyday almost, and if I lose my grip on her just once... well...we can kiss this school...and the world....goodbye..A heavy sigh heaved, she dusted off her nursing uniform and smoothed out her skirt, slipping into her office and closing the door behind her.
