That's incredible if you did it playing blind. And pretty good if you did it with a bunch of knowledge going in.

I'm avoiding all forbidden knowledge. I hesitate to even come in this thread, except that up until today I figured I was probably furthest along from the lot of ya. Wharf is a bitch and a half, and I didn't touch it all day for some other reasons, but when I go back I expect to continue losing all my souls. Maybe a grindfest is in order, bulk up that armor some, I'm just a few faith away from lightning bolts, which is gonna drastically improve my whole lot in life.

I'm in the same boat. I'm not playing it that often and am trying not to look anything up.

I wasted an hour on my second guy before my friend told me I was in the difficulty covenant.

Mostly been goofing off with multiple build ideas, tossing them out after a while. Like a nice green Hulk that used a pair of cestus and one large club. That one kinda leveled a lot of the bosses. Have a red skinned Darth Maul, and found the twin blade kinda early. That blade staff is awesome, though it's strikes are individually weak, it combos a lot of them together quickly. Has a nice move set as well.

But as for my main, now at 7 bosses, taking things slow, mixing my dual swords with sword and board as needed. Leaning towards curved swords and medium armors, like Elite Knight and Alva. Though I do like the Drangleic set for it's stats, don't care much for the cape. Not that hard hitting, but quick cuts and easy stamina management. Armored, but still agile enough to avoid danger. Mixing in some spells as well, jack of all trades over all. My classic set up.

Beat the Wharf finally. I was super-nervous about the boss but in the end I was fine. Rolled up the next area and now I've parked for some White Phantom goodness -- apparently there's more to this level than I thought.

My setup right now is the Double Dragon shield as essentially my primary weapon -- I start out most fights in tank mode (this is as a phantom, or with phantom backup). Got a bastard sword in the right, and some pretty serious miracle damage coming from the left. The idea being, when that moment comes, I've got crazy burst-damage to take advantage of openings. Wearing Alva armor (I should beef up a bit, but I don't have the equip load space if I want my <70 roll) with a Heide helmet, which looks pretty tight -- that's I guess important to me.

I had knowledge of The Forest of Fallen Giants and Heide's Tower but that was it.

I'm now sitting before the last boss (I think?), but I don't know how to get to it. I know it's there, but I just don't know how to activate the fight/get to the area.

Unless you've killed 34 other bosses(and that's just the ones that give you a unique soul) I doubt it's the last. I could be wrong, but I know there are 34+ bosses in the game, not counting mini bosses.

I looked up the boss list, and aside from three optional bosses (

), I have killed all except for the last one.

26 bosses, to be exact, which means there's only 30 bosses total, not 34+.

And I found the last boss, and I must say... Fuck this boss.

Huh, I counted 34(unique souls, at least) in the CE Guide. Maybe it does count mini bosses.

I only counted them as one, as I only looked at the item list of souls, not uses/amounts of them.

So, I'm lost as to where to go. I've beaten the spider bitch, the sinner, rotten, and iron king guy. I've walked through things Betwixt, gone everywhere I can in Majula. But just nothing.

That seems to be a trend with this game, telling you exactly no location as to where to go.

So far, I've downed the Last Giant, The Pursuer, the Lost Sinner, The Old Dragonslayer, the Dragonrider, the Ruin Sentinels, and the Belfry Gargoyles. Maybe another or two I've forgotten. Right now, I'm working toward killing the Executioner's Chariot. This game is brutal so far, with some moments that feel kind of cheap. But overall it's a great experience so far. I forged the Dragonrider's Halberd with Straid, it's pretty effective when I need to switch to a shield.

I've also gone on a sort of helping streak, laying down messages almost everywhere. One of my most rated messages is "Try merchant", in front of the Pharros Mechanism in the building where you find the second Forest of The Giants bonfire. Dunno why that one is rated higher than the one I put down detailing the area below the Belfry Luna Ramparts after the gargoyles. Maybe the Pharros lockstone thing isn't so obvious?
